Today I tried the small Italian sandwich. I must say I was underwhelmed. The meats and veggies were fresh, however the bread was very dry and hard. It reminded me of saltine crackers. I’m a bread lover so if the bread isn’t right is hard for me to enjoy my sandwich. Not sure if I’ll give them a second try or just go to potbelly’s next time I have a taste for a good sandwich.

What a great place to catch a quick bite before catching a train! Today was my first time ever at Which Wich & I was beyond pleased! First of all the menu was huge & had a ton of options, I was also very pleased to see they had a lot of vegetarian options. When my boyfriend & I first walked in I guess it was obvious we were first time customers because of the puzzled looks on our faces. Luckily, a worker was able to detect this & happily helped us out & explained how everything worked. Basically you pick what kind of sandwich you want(turkey, ham, veggie, etc) & grab a bag from that section. On the bag is a list of ingredients offered & you use sharpies to mark everything you want on your sandwich. There was a huge variety of veggies, sauces, seasoning, & cheese to choose from. I got a caprese sandwich with spicy mayo & the house potato chips & it was great! Needless to say I’ll definitely be back!

After passing by almost daily I tried it. I paid $ 9-something for a «chicken salad» sandwich. From what I can tell, the chicken salad was just chopped up cold cut deli chicken slices. That is not chicken salad! Boo. Hiss. And the ordering process is unnecessarily difficult. You have to basically fill out a questionnaire about your future sandwich on the bag it will go on. That’s fine, but then they ask you all the same questions to verify when you pay. So, why do it twice? The only thing going for it is they do have lots of options. And maybe I got the one thing they do terribly. But I can’t imagine if their other stuff is so good why they would have this terrible chicken salad on the menu. Almost ten bucks for a terrible sandwich? I won’t be giving it a second chance.

I love this place! I have been to several other locations in addition to this one and the sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. I generally order a chicken or chicken salad sandwich, and you can basically whatever toppings or sauces you want(they have a ton of choices). I will say that when I went here during lunch hours, it took at least 10 – 15 minutes after I ordered to get my food, which isn’t that long, but not fast for a quick sandwich place. Other than that, I love the number of choices you have and different combinations of sandwiches you can make.

My impression from this place is that it is a fancier(and pricier) version of Subway. Except that you don’t get to see the ingredients and how they make your sandwich. However, their bread is significantly better!!! They also have a much larger selection it seems.

Literally the best sandwich i’ve ever had. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and man oh man it was freaking delicious! This place is all about customization and creativity, the options are endless. Only complaint I had was the wait time. It took about 15 mins to make my sandwich, can’t imagine how long it would take on a very busy day. Overall, this place is awesome and I will definitely come back!

Literally the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I ordered a turkey sandwich with everything my heart desired and it was cartoonishly big. I ate half there and saved the other half for dinner. Yum yum will come back!

It was ok. I had a roast beef sandwich in a lettuce wrap. The roast beef was not slices of beef, it was partially shredded and kind of fatty. The lettuce was a bit reddish brown on the edges. Their house chips were delicious. I suggest you try those. The hubs had a corned beef sandwich. He said it didn’t taste like corned beef. He ordered horseradish sauce and cheese but found it to be way too much.

Overall: extra large sandwiches with a variety of toppings, though salty, pricy, and slow Food: lots of food. Because you can choose wich-ever toppings you want, I get most things and my sandwich comes out larger than a Chipotle burrito. Which is saying something. If chipotle burritos are like footballs, the Which Wich sandwiches are like little baseball bats. It’s a big, salty mess. For 9 dollars, they give you a paper bag with a menu on it. You can choose whichever toppings you want, and fortunately, they have a wide variety. Bbq sauce or mustard? Sauerkraut or lettuce? You can have everything! And I did. The result was a salty, sloppy mess. It didn’t really come together, mostly because the meat was super salty. Though the workers were nice and the restaurant was empty, the sandwich still took more than 5 minutes(~8) to come out. I worry that it’ll be even slower is the place is busy. Which Wich is a good treat for the hungry, but bring water and try not to go too overboard.

Which wich? What? Who wha where? Which wich has a weird name, but it’s accurate. You come in here, and you’re given a choice of which wich you want. Meanwhile, nobody mentions that probably the best way to get your wich is by it not being a wich, and having it be a bowl. That’s apparently unspoken but regulars here will tell you that in an instant. What do I like about which wich? You get absolutely anything and everything you want on your salad. What don’t I like about which wich? Well, it’s not really a sandwich at that point. I do dig some of the specific options that make a lot of sense and/or add flavor, namely that you can add horseradish and/or ground red pepper and/or spice as desired. Sadly, these named ingredients are far more rare than they should be at most places. This is worth checking out, but it isn’t exactly my favorite place to go. It’s also too far from my work location, so for me personally I probably won’t go here often.

I ordered online 2 hours before the expected pick up time. They apparently never looked at the order because when I got there, the food wasn’t ready. To make things worse, 1 of the sandwiches had mold on the bread! I gave them 1 extra star for replacing the sandwich. The non-moldy sandwiches were just okay. Not worth the walk when there is a Potbelly’s that is closer.

3.5 stars I was about to enter au Bön pan when I look next door and saw this place. It was completely empty and one of the workers was sweeping so I thought they were closed, but luckily they weren’t. This place has got to be heaven for sandwich lovers. The menu is HUGE! They have just about every sandwich you can think of cold or hot. From Reuben’s to Panini’s to Gyros they have you covered. Me being a novice here it was a bit overwhelming with the choices and it didn’t help with the lengthy read of boxes to check off on the brown paper bag. I guess if your super picky or anal you might like this approach to ordering, but I’m more so the one size fits all give or take an ingredient or two. Speaking of sizes you pick that as well. Small, Medium, or Large. Small was perfect for me. The friendly woman at the counter took my order for the served hot Reuben sandwich. It had plenty of meat and was filling. Also should mention the bread it was served on was fresh and delicious. I will be back and more prepared to order next time.

the buffet of sandwiches! imagine a salad bar of sandwich toppings. even for us veggies, there is quite a bit to choose from including onion strings and potato chips :) i love that i don’t need to go with my usual cheese and tomato and if i’m lucky, avocado sandwich. the artichoke parmesan is my favorite and i love to throw in hummus and other veggies… and yes, the onion straws. because sandwiches are customized, the wait can be a little stressful especially if you are attempting a quick pick-up lunch and as others have noted, the assembly line doesn’t seem like they have any sense of urgency. double-punch wednesdays are worth the wait though! my only complaint(in comparison to other sandwich spots — potbelly’s, snarf’s, cosi) is that the bread could be a little fresher.

Not great, not bad. Def. a unique and fun take on ordering. However, it didn’t make up for the not-so-friendly service. As for food, I ordered a 7-inch roast beef on wheat«skinny»(they hollow out the inside of the bread a bit). There are plenty of toppings to choose from. The sandwich was good. If you put Potbelly or Snarf’s next to it, I would pop into either one before I would return to Which Wich.

I just had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was De-Lish-Us! I added pickles, red onions, peppers & a little ranch dressing — every flavor popped in my mouth and there was an explosion! #BuffaloChickenRocksHard

Which Wich, so clever, I like it. I like unique concepts and I like being able to customize my food. It can be confusing for a virgin Which Wicher though! There’s a big menu board, there’s sharpies, there are bags in numbered bins. Don’t fret, look at the menu board, note the number beside your sandwich of choice, grab said number from the bag bin and go to town on customization! Hot, cold, skinny, white, wheat, sauces, cheeses, veggies, extras! Fun! If you’re looking for a big, overstuffed sub, then Which Wich is probably not for you. They have regular, human being sized food. I approve; it’s a good meat, to veg, to bread ratio and always filling. Their bread is tasty and everything is always fresh. I’ve tried several sandwiches and so far there isn’t one that I wouldn’t get again. I also love that it’s in Block Thirty Seven shopping and there is an underground red line stop right there! Dude, you can hop the L and stay underground, out of the elements to grab lunch! I usually get a small sandwich and a water and it’s like $ 6. I like me some $ 6 lunches in the Loop. It’s not spectacular, but it’s damn good and it’s a solid go-to sandwich joint to have in your back pocket. Much like Potbelly, always good.

Very interesting sandwich place downstairs in the basement of Block 37 on State & Randolph. I kinda dig the name Which Wich… ya know like Which Sandwich do you want as they have so many options. You walk inside and there is a wall that lets you know what sandwiches they have to offer. There is a thin paper bag under each genre of sandwich that you can write your name on(that how you will be identified when you sandwich is ready), and it also contains a bunch of free topping options that you can include on for sandwich… pretty cool huh. You can also express yourself with artwork on the paper bag if you like. Very nice selection of sandwiches here. I am a classic rueben lover so I got that my first time around… pretty damn good. Not the best ever but was worth the $ I paid for it. Sandwiches come along with a dill pickle spear. The next time I got the srirracha tuna sandwich which was good as well. Great flavor as I devoured the damn thang! Very colorful interior here as it kind of reminds me of Hot Dougs and Edzo’s with the color scheme… lots of red & yellow. Good spot o grab lunch in the loop!
