Wayne’s Bar-B-Que and Cajun

A friend of mine came to work with great smelling/​looking cajun chicken & rice. He let me try a sample and I was HOOKED! I’ve been living in Chicago forever and just now finding out about Wayne’s… Just by pass the CD/​weed man/​cig man lol

What I order everytime is the bourbon chicken, the honey/​Orange chicken and the regular rice. It’s seriously the best combination ever. I love their food so much, and I recommend them to anyone. I just wish they were located closer to my home

Nope, nada, can’t do it. I searched for food places in the Washington park neighborhood as I was here waiting for someone whom was at work. Saw this place on the list and that they were a BBQ joint. Not so when I rolled up. Its a Chinese restaurant masked as a BBQ and Cajun spot. Yeah they have BBQ food and some Cajun stuff but it seems a bit misleading to someone who truly wants BBQ. So I walked in determined to give it a shot. But sorry I couldn’t even do it when the language barrier prevented the order taker from understanding that I want Rib Tips.
So I cancelled my order which she probably didn’t understand either and walked back out into the cold Chicago weather disappointed, hungry and still waiting for this damn person to get off work!
So in all fairness the 1 star is for everything about this place but the food. Maybe I’m missing out on the greatest Chinese food ever (doubt it) but the switch a roo that they pulled with the name of the place just turned me so far off that it won’t come back on for a while. damn, I shoulda just drove the few miles further south to Lems

Bourbon and blackened chicken nice and moist and not to heavy on the sauce. The Cajun spicy rice flavorful and plentiful. For the price it’s a great deal and a lot of food.
