Virgin Hotels Chicago

Came here for business just after opening. One of the best and most unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were very friendly, the room was beautiful, and the amenities are second to none. The Commons Club is a great place to relax, grab a drink, and eat. The hotel is in a great location as well. It’s elegant, classy, and it’s where you should stay. Next time I’m in Chicago, I know where I’ll stay.

Great place!!! Great for people who wants to bring their well behaved animals. Look at the pics provided. And the snack bar??? Holy crap. You name it they have. And at a very very reasonable price. Bed is amazing. Everything is new and really clean. Please come here. I promise you won’t regret it. Staff was 5 star professional and friendly.

I originally booked 1 night for myself just to sit back relax, have a little fun, get a massage and just enjoy the views. But 1 night turned into 2!
So check in was very easy and quick. The front desk reps were very energetic and welcoming. I arrived at 12:00 and even though check in isn’t until 3, I was able to get a room on the 20^th floor. Not the best view but it was good enough. I dropped my things off then headed to breakfast in their restaurant Miss Ricky’s. The food was good. Nothing amazing. I had the eggs. I also tried the shrimp and grits. Again good, not amazing.
The bed is amazing! The rooms were clean (had a different room my second night). Love the vanity set up for doing hair/​makeup. They have a fully stocked mini fridge and everything is regular price. No mark ups! I created a profile on their app and they personally brought me a welcome card with my favorite candy!
Happy hour is from 7 – 8. Free drinks if you show your room key. Sweet! No watered down drinks either. Then came the Dj set at the rooftop. Let’s just say I woke up hung over but had a blast! This is getting too long so I’ll just stop here. But if you want to have a good time, relax in a clean trendy room, and not be nickled and dimed this is your place! I will probably only stay here from now on. Plenty of stores/​restaurants all around so the location is wonderful for walking. And their Tesla car will drop you off anywhere within 2 miles of the hotel. It’s a must try! 0 – 60 in 3 seconds. I screamed lol. I am so happy I picked this place. Keep it up you guys!

One of the best hotel experiences to date! In general, they get the baseline stuff right: smart, elegant use of space, ear plugs in case of you have bachelorette neighbors, and an umbrella and yoga mat if you need it. However, what puts them head and shoulders above everybody else is their experience: They messed up my keys and we’re kind enough to deliver a lovely treat as an apology! Amazing!
Definitely going to stay here the next time I get the chance!

The best hotel I ever been to in my life! The service, the room, the atmosphere, everything together are just so perfect! Virgin hotel is around a good neighborhood with many options for restaurants, convenient stores, parking and transportation. The hotel offers free ride on the Tesla with no further than 2 miles radius. The free ride is just wonderful, who wouldn’t love a free ride on a sport car that goes faster than a Ferrari! They have a wonderful lounge area where people can sit while waiting for the taxi. The hotel also have a café and a restaurant on the lobby floor. There is also spa on the bottom floor which is great for people who are staying at virgin hotel! Time to enjoy Chicago and a treatment at the hotel!
The receptionists are so polite and helpful. They always greet you and smile at you every time you walk in and out of the hotel. In the front area next to reception, people who are staying can do self check in or out at the machine. At anytime from morning to midnight, if you’re calling the receptionist for help, they will provide the best service and need for you! I called many times during midnight to ask for extra personal supplies and they are able to deliver it right away!
The hotel also offers people who are staying at the hotel free drinks (cocktails, wine, beer) during their social hours (7−8pm). The bar is located on the second floor, it has amazing service, drinks and foods.
The room we booked at the hotel is just fascinating! They also gave us a bottle of champagne. I walked in with beautiful flower scent and a big view of tall skyscrapers. The room I walked in has nice decorations that make you feel like home. The shoe area once you walk in the door, next to it is the couch, on the right there is elegant cabinets that has tea and coffee, mini bar, and a fridge store with water, juice and alcohol. In front of the cabinet there is a wooden table and very fancy and comfortable chairs. The living room area also have huge television right in front of the couch area. When walking into the bathroom area, the sinks are right next to a vanity, and shower area and toilet are in separate rooms. The shower area is almost designed like a hot room in the spa, where you can sit and shower. There is a shower head and also water that can be coming down from the ceiling. Lastly, we got bedroom with view of the subway and big buildings. There is a king size bed in the bedroom with cute lamps and big television. On the corner there is also a small couch where people can lay and read a book. In between each rooms there are sliding doors, so that when you are sleeping you would not get disturbed by anything else that’s happening in other rooms. They have very high technology lightning and mobile service in the room!
I would definitely go back to this hotel in the future if I come to Chicago again! Definitely recommended for everyone!!!

What a classy hotel experience!
I had the pleasure of staying here while I was in Chicago for my bachelorette party last weekend. The service here is second to none. Check-​in is quick and easy. The lounge on the second floor offers a free daily happy hour for guests. There is also a nice enclosed rooftop bar on the 26^th floor. I would love to check this out in warmer weather.
I really loved the room layout. The separate dressing area is a great future and was perfect for getting ready. The affordable mini-​bar prices were also a surprise — more hotels should follow the Virgin’s lead.
Much like flying with Virgin Air, staying at the Virgin Hotel will definitely spoil you.

Gotta give this place 5 stars. It was reasonably priced, came with free breakfast (which admittedly i don’t think is standard) and had a free cocktail hour from 7 – 8 every day (which is standard with a room key) And by cocktails I mean almost anything from a well stocked bar full of whisky, bourbon or whatever you like. Plus they’ll make whatever you like. The room design is a little quirky but the bed was great and just overall a chill and friendly vibe.

I stayed here New Years Eve with my girlfriend for the night and I couldn’t recommend highly enough! First and foremost the hotel and rooms are amazingly decorated. Everything looks amazing and new with just that subtle style you just expect with the Virgin name. There are some really nice touches with the room designs and the hotel bars. +1 for the kickass mini fridge.
The hotel also offers a couple of great things you don’t normally see. Yes, it’s true if you are staying as a guest that the 2^nd floor bar offers free drinks between 7−8pm, and not just the cheap stuff too!
They also have a free Red Tesla car service car that will drop you off anywhere within 2 miles of the hotel.
Pretty much all this pales in comparison to the overall service we received. All the staff was incredibly kind and willing to do everything to make the stay fun and comfy. The best example was that I brought along my Chromecast to watch Netflix on my room tv during my stay and it did not want to cooperate with the Hotel Internet for whatever reason. I called the front desk and they sent up a maintenance guy to try and help. Now the guy wasn’t able to get it working and I figured «whatever I’ll just watch normal tv» but what surprised me was that instead of throwing up his hands in defeat, the guy called IT and ended up setting up our own personal wifi that would cooperate with the Chromecast. The lengths the staff was willing to go in order make our stay enjoyable was more than enough to warrant this review.
Highly recommend.

The Virgin brand exceeds all expectations once again.
From the modern and slick design that somehow still manages to avoid pretense and the all too ubiquitous douche factor of modern and slick, to the free Tesla car that carts you around the loop, to the humanely-​priced minibar, this hotel is excellent.
It trumps Schrager’s designs for half the price and the staff, as I’ve found with all Virgin products, really make the experience memorable. I couldn’t recommend this more.

I came here because another rooftop nearby (ahem the Witt) was being SUPER pretentious/​annoying, and charging us cover even though it was 9:15 pm (on a winter night) and there was literally no one else in line.
So we decided to check out the Virgin Hotel’s rooftop and we were not disappointed! The music was great, the views were beautiful, the staff was kind, the vibe was chill, there was $ 0 cover… I cannot wait to come back!

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! We want to come back time and time again. The coffee was wonderful, every detail was perfect, and we slept so well!
Service was beyond fantastic. I wish I could give it more than five stars!

Virgin Hotels, please come to NYC, I think I love you.
A few weeks ago was my maiden voyage to Chicago. Yes, I have avoided the Windy City for as long possible as I am not someone that does well in colder climes. My internal thermostat is set to tropical weather.
But Chicago was nice to me at the end of October, offering up unseasonable climate change warm weather and I am so happy that Virgin Hotels was home for a few short days.
What can I say Chicago? I really do love you, but probably my love is fickle as I can only love when weather is over 15C…
From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was treated with hospitality and friendliness.
And I can’t stop raving about the rooms. They have a partition in the middle of the room, so if you’re sharing, can have some privacy from the «bedroom» and «bathroom.» Everything had a nice touch to it, tons of great lighting, and even a nice small sheep toy greets you in the shower.
Gym was on the top floor, which got the job done of running everyday. Thanks Virgin for keeping me on my exercise regimen.
And in their Commons Club, every night from 7−8pm is social hour in which drinks are complimentary if you’re a guest in the hotel. That’s awfully generous of you!
Great stay, nice staff. I would definitely stay here again when/​if back in Chi-​Town.

A great experience from check in to check out. There is always someone to greet you when you walk in and everyone is so friendly!
There are multiple places to eat and drink here, as well as a great and inexpensive mini bar if you need something fast.
The rooms are super modern looking and although smaller than most they make great use of all the area. I loved the rain shower. It was by far my favorite part. My room was overlooking the L and it was much quieter than I was expecting as well. The location is great too; it’s right in the loop and walking distance to everywhere tourists would want to go.
I also got a massage at the spa; if you want the full experience you should check out the spa as well for full relaxation. This was such a relaxing place to stay and I wish I could have stayed longer!
I also want to mention they are much more inexpensive than other hotels in this area. I will recommend this place to anyone who visits and will be back again!

The spa is amazing. My bff and I enjoyed our time at the hamma and our massage.
Valarie did such a good job that i felt like a jelly afterward! The services were sooo courteous and everyone was so nice there.
The only thing I would complain is the small public area. The checkin is at the nail bar, the bathroom/​the only shower/​hamma facilities all crammed into this very small space, and i am not sure if it’s unisex or not.
Another reason a star off is that i had booked a «couple massage» for us so that we could be sharing the same massage room, but we were switched out to individual rooms last minute and we weren’t even informed till we were shown to our massage rooms.

Me like! Fresh trendy tasteful retro ish British euro style décor. From Miss Rickys diner (with a great Reuben and fish n chips) to the stylish 2^nd floor bar lounge to the excellent rooftop lounge, Virgin brings the best of London euro hip style to Chicago.

Virgin delivers. Great design, attentive and customized service, amazing amenities.
Location is great – walking distance from all sorts of stuff. Price is really reasonable, considering the location, especially when you take into account all the perks.
The hotel is compact, but uses space well, is comfortable, and is full of great details that look good and are functional, too. All the lights in the room have dimmers, the TV pulls out from the wall, wifi is free and good. Only downsides I observed were that the shower is meh (not great water pressure) and the rooms are not well insulated from outside traffic noise (though they do provide earplugs). And the tissues are kind of not very soft. If you want to get down to the nitty gritty.
The minibar. This is brilliant. The minibar is stocked with all sorts of great stuff, and the prices are totally reasonable. Like, a can of Coke for a buck, bottle of Voss water for two, a variety of snacks in the same price range. Are you kidding? And they’re stocked in/​on an adorable vintage-​style red mini fridge. When you book your room, they’ll ask you some of your preferences, including for mini bar items. My husband asked for sour cream and onion potato chips, and we got two bags, gratis, tied with a red ribbon and a handwritten note welcoming us to the hotel. Room services prices are also reasonable, and there are no service charges. What.
Every night from 6 – 7 they offer social hour in the bar on the second floor, which has lots of comfortable, funky seating areas. It’s high-​energy and has a great vibe, but the best part is the drinks. First of all, they’re free for guests. Hello. But this isn’t some lame serve-​yourself-​from-​a-​selection-​of-​five-​poor-​quality-​spirits-​and-​a-​couple-​lame-​mixers free bar sort of situation. No, no. We’re talking great bartenders, a menu of delicious, unusual cocktails, or have them make you something not on the menu (plus wine and beer). I asked the bartender to mix me up something sans alcohol and ended up with something deliciously fizzy and fruity, and not too sweet.
As if all that was not enough, the cherry on top is the Tesla. They’ve got a red Model S P85D that’s available to guests (times vary by day) to drive you places nearby. If you’ve never driven in a Tesla, DRIVE IN THE TESLA. It’s amazing. Zero to 60 in 3.1 seconds. The acceleration is absolute madness. I’m not particularly into cars, but I was losing my mind. We’ve used it three times so far… I’m hoping to get in another ride or two before we check out tomorrow. The driver we’ve had, Quinn, is great.
Richard Branson, please open more of these in the US.

Stumbled up to the 26^th rooftop after Taste Talks. A great view of the river, upper Wacker Drive and the jeweler’s building plus a DJ spinning — just loud enough to listen, but still able to talk the person next to you.
The Virgin Hotel experience feels like a very exclusive club. Security dressed in black were at every major entry way, the entrance, stairs, elevators, but unlike typical hairslicked bouncers, they were extremely courteous, helpful and professional, just physically intimidating. I think they were all former football linebackers, I felt very secure here.
Cocktails are the usual range in this part of town, and they made a good drink. Bathrooms were squeaky clean with bright white subway tile cast in warm light. Everything felt posh, but welcoming at the same time. The lounge on the second floor is whimisical. The first thing I saw was a giant round swing contraption. I walked around to take it all and the security guy thought I was lost, but he was cool when I told him I was just enamored and he laughed it off. I think I’ll start looking into Virgin Hotels, modern not pretentious. I like the Richard Branson style.

Supreme Collison of old Chicago architecture and motifs with Branson edginess and chic. Impeccable service with a mood that is so uplifting. I am only staying here when I come to Chicago. And my Uncle Bills place because he is a widower.

We recently stayed here during our Chicago visit. We received a three night stay here as a gift at our wedding, and we were so excited to finally take advantage of that and book our reservation. We have a small dog named Oscar that was really looking forward to being able to join us in our luxurious room!
The moment you enter the whole experience takes off. The interior décor is funky yet clean and modern. The art on the walls was my favorite. I loved the way everything was set up!
In terms of customer service, this hotel exceeds the level of customer service we have ever experienced at any hotel; high end or not. The people here genuinely seem to enjoy and value their jobs. They smile and greet you every time you enter that door or leave for the day. They are always happy to help you find your way around or make any kind of recommendations as well! And they also seem to love animals just as much as we do which is obviously a very nice thing considering this hotel is ALL ABOUT the dogs.
Checking in (and out) was a breeze. Their scheduling process was very organized and simple. There were no issues whatsoever.
Our room was the neatest! Lot’s of red and white and fun, funky designs. Our bed stand had a little electric tea kettle for some tea and drip coffee which was so nice to have in the mornings! The room had a TV (we didn’t use), a music hookup (great sound!), and a bed that felt like sleeping on clouds. There were lots of shelves and places for our clothing and luggage as well which is always nice when you are traveling. Of course there was the mini-​fridge with all kinds of goodies: liquor, candies, chips, healthy snacks, soda, etc. The shower was large and had a bench to sit down. The floors were wood which was just a nice clean, modern look. I especially loved the little vanity with the accompanying bench.
Our lil pup got the treatment, too! There were two food bowls waiting for him along with a nice big dog bed, bag of treats, and a little Virgin scarf for him to wear around his neck. He got the treatment! Though, when we were gone he definitely slept on our bed…
Our experience here from start to finish was wonderful. We really cannot wait to visit again in the future whether it be in Chicago or another location. I really hope to see them expand their locations across the country. As a dog loving family, it is really lovely to be able to know of a nice hotel that will treat our dog with compassion and respect. We trusted their staff entirely and knew that he would be safe when we left the room. That is such a good feeling.
We cannot wait to come back! Great work, Virgin Hotels!

WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS, but… read on.
Upon arrival, the front desk agents are walking around with an iPad ready to check you in. They walk with you from the door to their desk, and hand you your key. Rooms are small, but adequate. Everything you need from a very comfortable bed to yoga mat for your workout (of course, you all know to use a towel when on foreign yoga mats, right?). This place is very chic, very trendy, love the «Virgin» vibe.
They have a great bar on the 2^nd floor that offers free drinks for all hotel guests from 6−7pm. Their rooftop bar/​club has a great view of the city and river. Per Chicago law, the patio closes at 11pm, but you can still hang out in the bar.
Their house car, which is a Tesla, took me to work 2 days in a row, very nice of them!
The only downer to my stay… I did not receive points on my Elevate membership for these two nights. The person I spoke to (Shequilia?) stated that because they are just starting out, I do not qualify for points because it was booked throug my company travel site. What? :/​Even though we pay with our CC, even though we choose where to stay, we do not get points with Virgin hotels, so business travelers, beware! That being said, I will come back when they give me points for staying here, no matter who books my stay for me. Virgin hotels, I will miss you! Until then… au revoir!
