I read the reviews before going. I went to Ray, because of the reviews, for a full set of pink and whites. The next day my nails were lifting, and I could see water getting between my nail and the acrylic. Ray also propped up an iPad while he was doing my nails so that he could watch a soccer game. Not professional at all and I am convinced that perhaps they must write their own good reviews… I also didn’t care for the ambiance at all. I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Love Vickies! I live very close to here but would still come even if I lived far away as I couldn’t find a great place downtown to get a decent no chip. Every no chip manicure I’ve gotten from here has lasted 2+ weeks at least so the $ 35 is absolutely worth it! Every technician I’ve had is great and they also have a great selection of colors and brands too.

First time. Super friendly staff. Gracious service with tea or bottled water. My pedicurist was gentle and attentive and the massage chairs seemed new. Brow lady worked a miracle.

Love the salon, equipment, cleanliness and staff but unfortunately the quality of the service isn’t good. Every time I get my nails done here (gel and acrylics) they literally start to pop off days later. My girlfriend gets a gel manicure only and hers chip so fast. They also take forever to do your nails. Literally almost 2 hours for a refill! You’d think they’d be so perfect you can be a hand model with that long a wait but nope not today my friend!

Found this salon on Unilocal and was so glad I used the app to find an affordable place that was close by. The customer service was great and they did an amazing job. I went in for a quick polish change and usually whenever i have gotten one of those at other nail salons, i am hurried and not really valued as a customer since i am not getting gel or something bigger in price. Well Vickies took away that stereotype for me. They were attentive and did such a great job!

Great salon with very friendly staff. The pedicure stations are amazing too — can’t get enough of the updated massage chairs!!! I’ve been going to Danny & Tammy for almost 5 years and when they moved here– I didn’t mind! Best salon in the Gold Coast! I live in NYC now, but when I come to Chicago– I always make an appointment :)

This is my new go to nail salon. The store has undergone a complete makeover since the new owner took over last fall. Mike (the owner) is always there to greet and chat with the customers. The staff is so attentive and friendly. Summer is my favorite tech but everyone is good (rare in a nail salon). The receptionist is really good with color selections and always offer bottled water or hot tea. This place is also BYOB. Win! I love this place!

Vickie’s is amazing! I have gone to several nail places in the Gold Coast area and up in Lakeview/​Lincoln Park, and this is by far the best place! As soon as you walk in to the salon you feel welcome and comfortable. The customer service is outstanding, and the new owner Mike cares so much about the customers and making sure they are happy. They offered coffee/​water while I was getting my pedicure, and they did a great job with my no chip manicure and pedicure. They take their time and do a great job! I will definitely go back!

I was in Chicago for the weekend and needed a manicure. Vickie’s was closest to my hotel and had the highest ratings on Unilocal.I was not disappointed! The salon is clean and everyone is so friendly. I loved my manicure. They have tons of gel colors and it’s easy to pick a color. I teased Danny because Ray got all the good reviews. So, next when you come to Vickie’s ask for Danny and tell him that Tamara from California sent you.

This place is amazing, and it’s all because of it’s amazing staff. Every single individual in the employed here is kind and welcoming, and it is heart warming to see the new owner Mike always in the front of the salon taking care of everyone. They recently renovated only to have gotten better and more chic. This was luckily the first nail salon I tried (regular mani/​pedi) when I moved to Chicago, and has been the only salon I visit. I’ve seen the entire staff go out of their way to ensure a memorable experience for all of their clients, and it’s hard to find comparable dedication these days. I personally visit Jenny or Ray; however Julie, Tammy and everyone else there are extremely well-​trained and professional.
Again, I would highly recommend this salon.

Vickie’s was bought and the new owner emailed me and asked me to give them another chance so I did today.
It’s not even the same place. Everything is brand new, new nail techs and old ones. The atmosphere was light and friendly, employees laughing and smiling.
I got a fill with no chip and a pedicure with no chip. Both were done professionally and look amazing. The new owner was there and talked to me quite a bit.
I will definitely go back.

I have been going to this place for about 2 years, and it recently has come under new ownership. Since then, the salon has been cleaned up and undergone some cosmetic updates! I value an efficient manicure, and this place provides that. Quality is good, and most technicians (the one I didn’t care for doesn’t seem to be working there any more) do a fine job.
I will continue to go to this place as long as I live close by.

After a grueling search for the perfect nail salon in the city, I’ve found it!!! I stopped in for a quick fill and repair, and my nails look incredible! On top of the excellent performance of the tech, the owner was sitting and chit chatting with me which made me feel very at home. I’m now looking into planning bridal events at this location. I couldn’t be more satisfied!!!

Ray, is amazing, he is the only person I will let do my acrylics! Would highly suggest giving him a try.
