Venetian Designs Painting and Decorating

Luke and his team are fantastic. They installed new baseboards, crown moulding, door and window trim, new doors, tile floor, and painted the entire house. Really beautiful work coming from a meticulous person. They are prompt and courteous and take great pride in their work. He completed our large job within the promised time frame. Pricing also seemed fair. Would definitely recommend and use Luke again for future projects.

I strongly recommend Venetian Designs for cabinet refinishing. Luke and John refinished our cabinets for our kitchen, laundry room, and two bathrooms. We did this instead of getting new cabinets or refacing — this was a fraction of a cost and the cabinets look like new.
a. The quality of work was top notch — multiple coats of primer, multiple coats of paint, sanding in between to get a smooth finish and minimize the appearance of wood grains)
b. The speed of work was impressive — it felt like a couple week job but they were diligence and well coordinated
c. They had very limited impact on our lifestyle — each day (over 4 days) they packed up and tidied up after each day so that we could use our kitchen and bathrooms
d. Pricing was solid — I quoted with another guy who does cabinet refinishing for a living and Venetian came in competitive while offering a similar process in terms of number of coats, etc.
e. The process throughout was perfect — Luke was extraordinarily responsive to calls, texts, emails, and made me comfortable in every step of the process, from a fast quote, to 12-​hour deliver of a sample color board after picking up samples, to a fast start at7:30am sharp on the first day
f. Also, Luke and John were willing to help me with a couple things related to our bathroom remodel that were a bit too complex for me, so they overdelivered on the scope.
I’m only able to comment on Venetian Designs for cabinet refinishing (for which I’d obviously recommend them for based on review above), but I can tell Luke and John have a good skillset and they care about the quality of their work, so I will consider them for jobs in the future beyond just painting.

After meeting with Luke my husband knew there was no question about who to hire. He is very professional, knowledgable and a pleasure to work with. From beginning to end everything was perfect.

I worked with Luke and his team for a couple of small projects. Luke is really easy to work with and replies to emails and questions as soon as he can and explains things very well. He worked with me on pricing as budget was a big factor in deciding on what I can get done now rather than later. On both days, they arrived exactly on time, covered all furniture perfectly and did a great job. They painted the cabinets in my small kitchen really well. The finish is smooth and the cabinets look new. Installed and painted crown molding and added a few shelves. Everything was done meticulously and I am very happy with the entire experience. At the end of it all, they left the space pretty clean and tried putting everything back to its original spot which is saying a lot as I have had experiences with very messy contractors who don’t bother cleaning after themselves. Additionally, Luke went ahead and painted a small area which was not even included in the contract. I really appreciate that.
Overall, Luke and his team are very professional, they respect time and do great work. I hope to call on them on future projects!

We have used Venetian Designs (Luke and John) for several projects in the past 1 ½ years. He has painted several rooms in our house and completely painted the exterior of our house along with replacing a large area of cedar siding.
Last week Luke, John and Alan installed new hardwood acacia flooring in our master bedroom, dressing room and upstairs hallway. They also painted the walls, ceilings and woodwork in the bedroom, dressing room and hall. All of this work was complicated by some extremely large pieces of furniture in the bedroom and dressing room. Luke and John were able to move these and work around them. The finished work is impeccable and absolutely beautiful. As promised, the work was started on Monday and completed on Friday. Truly amazing.
Our experience with Luke is that he always meets his commitments. He is very communicative (by phone and email), and always is at our house at the time he says he will be. He finishes his work when he says he will. He is very polite and respectful of our home. Luke and his team work extremely hard and are very professional. These guys are great!

Luke is wonderful! He is very professional and takes pride in his work. Excellent painter and is always on time. Both he and John did a great job painting my bedroom & bathroom; putting up the crown molding, as well as my stairwell, landings, powder room and front door. We are planning on using his services again soon on some other projects. Prices are reasonable. Will recommend him to all my friends.

After much deliberation and several estimates later we opted to have our original 1950’s wooden kitchen cabinets repainted. Additionally-​all walls, ceiling & trim. I found Luke on Unilocal and he promptly came and gave us what we found to be a very fair estimate. Luke was extremely professional through out and arrived exactly when he said he would each day, which over the years I have found not to be the case with many other contractors. He was organized, clean and completed the job on schedule, even coming to finish up on the 4^th of July!
It’s been nearly 7 months and we couldn’t be happier. Our kitchen is very much a «working» kitchen with 90% of our waking time spent in it. In addition to heavy cooking, we have two small boys who are constantly leaving fingerprints and driving matchbox cars, etc… over all surfaces. There has been zero chipping/​peeling and everything is easily wiped clean and continues to look fresh and bright.

I was in desperate need to find painters three days before Thanksgiving when we got a few warm days for the exterior painting of the front of our house.
I contacted Luke on Saturday and he returned my call within two hours. Luke listened to my situation (we only had a couple of days when the weather was warm enough for the exterior painting) and fit me in his schedule. He gave me an estimate on Sunday and it was a fair price. Luke and his coworker arrived on Monday and Luke brought the contract for me to sign.
They did nice job painting the stucco boards and trim of my Tudor style house. I am impressed with the quality, professionalism and efficiency of the Venetian Designs. The job was completed with 7 hours and the house look beautiful. I highly recommend this company and will use their services again.

Our neighbors had their entire house painted by Luke and his guys and recommended Luke highly. He just completed painting our entire home (3700 sq. ft.) and garage interior in six days. We can’t praise Luke highly enough. His prices are fair, he is prompt, and works on a job until it is completed. His painting is meticulous and flawless and he protects your floors and furniture from any stray drips. He moves everything for you, and replaces everything when finished. We were so impressed that we asked him to paint the exterior of the house as well. We would recommend him without any qualifications. Full disclosure: I have hung out with Luke on a personal level, however I paid for his services in full, so this review is legit.
Luke came in and painted my bathroom beautifully. Not a single streak out of place, not an ounce of splattered paint anywhere. It’s fabulous! I am very happy with all of his advice and work ethic. He comes on time every time and does a good job.
He recommended a specific type of paint for my bathroom since I was having issues with the steam impacting the last paint job (from another person who did not do nearly as detailed of a job) and then wisely told me to use the damn fan! I do now (almost) every time, I swear!

Given that I’ve never written a review on Unilocal (first time for everything), I obviously feel pretty strongly about the quality of work that Luke and his team did in my condo. I had decided to have some work done in my place including window trim, crown molding throughout, a back splash and re-​painting. Everything turned our beautiful and the entire project was much smoother than I ever expected — from the initial quote to the last detail of cleaning up. Luke was very patient with changes i made along the way, worked to accommodate all of my requests, and had great suggestions on things to consider. He was incredibly professional, detail-​oriented, and thorough — I would highly recommend him — amazing job!

WOW! WOW! WOW! I had read all of the positive reviews on
regarding Venetian Designs and thought, no way this guy can’t be that good. Well, I had Luke come out and give an estimate on painting the front of my house. He looked the house over, had a few questions and left after about 10 –15 minutes. He promised to have the quote to me that night — AND HE DID! He was so reasonable regarding pricing, always easy to get hold of, whether email or phone and let me say this loud and clear — ON TIME when he came to the house — 8 am! His finished work is beautiful! I cannot recommend him enough! Even my neighbors, after seeing the final product of my house, approached him to work on their homes. If you are looking for a reliable contractor who does fantastic work, look no further than Luke and Venetian Designs.

We recently purchased a house that has cove ceilings (the walls curve into the ceiling instead of having corners). The family room desperately needed to be painted and we couldn’t figure out how to do a decent job ourselves, so we started calling painters.
Luke came out the next day and gave us a quote before he left. He seemed interested in doing the work and confident that it would look good (which is more than I can say for the other painter who came out). His price was very reasonable. We hired him and just a few days later he came out and painted the trim in two rooms, added quarter round in both, did some minor plaster repairs and painted the ceiling and walls of one room — two coats on everything — in less than 10 hours. It looks great! We are very happy and would definitely use him again.

When I bought my place, my bedroom colors were fugly; two years later, I finally got around to repainting. Well not me, that’d be too much work. After Luke from Venetian Designs was done, I sleep better at night (must be the green). The cracks were all repaired and the ceiling is whiter than white. He also helped me patch up the holes from the last owner’s surround sound speakers in the living room … you know, until I get some of my own. He was careful with my stuff and covered the bed (where the magic happens) and my carpets (where the magic sometimes happens). Everything looks great, and I’ll definitely call him again if I need something else done.

Venetian Designs was responsible for the interior on my commercial photography studio in Naperville, IL. I’ll admit I had some strange requests (being an artist) but that didn’t bother them at all!
The work that was done, was far better than I could have ever imagined, and I get compliments on it everyday! Of course I had pink-​on-​pink flashy stripes put on my front walls– but they turned out PERFECT!
Professional, fast, affordable, and SO artistic! The attention to detail was amazing!
I will be using Venetian Designs over and over again in the future! And if anyone needs painting or decorating, they are the ONLY ones I would recommend!
