Ok, so I need a new muffler. Where to go? I know go to Unilocal for help. A couple of options came up and I was doubtful at the first shops that came up because I had heard first hand accounts about bad service. Went down the list to a shop not so far away. Got there and they were kinda busy someone stepped away from the job they were working on and told it wouldn’t be too much longer, it wasn’t. They checked out my car, told me how much it would be, I agreed and they went to work. After they were done the main guy told it would be less than originally quoted because the parts on my car weren’t as bad as they thought at first. WOW. I thought that was terribly honest of them. Will be going back. And recommending them to whoever needs an honest mechanic.

These guys are solid and reasonably priced. They can build custom exhaust piping which seems to be a rarity these days. They saved me a substantial amount of money helping me customize my Magnaflow system.

This place is awesome!!! First of all these guys are very friendly.
I called Saturday afternoon, they let me bring it that day. He looked it over and it only took about 25 minutes… I had bowl of soup at Jerry’s diner. He changed the muffler, some pipe, the resonator and changed all of my hangers for only $ 100.00. i had a beer at O’Lanagan’s On Montrose. only took him 35 minutes to change it. He even stayed late to get it done. I had a quote from a large chain for $ 640!!! So this guy saved me $ 540. Oh and most impressive his work comes with a full warranty for a year !!! Top notch !!!

Had been quoted almost $ 1000 from the Toyota dealer to replace the entire exhaust system on my Sienna. After we saw the reviews on this place on Unilocal and the fact that they were open on a Sunday, we figured we would give it a chance. Drove in at 9:15 Sunday morning, was shown the leaky pipe and joint that needed to be replaced and better yet, was shown that my muffler and the rest of the system were in great shape and didn’t need to be replaced. Was quoted $ 120 and 45 minute turnaround. We would have stuck around while the work was done but noticed a great diner (Jeri’s Grill A++!) to grab a quick bite to eat. Returned about 40 minutes later and they were doing a final check and had us on our way. Amazing. Great customer service and a great job. Will definitely be back. Thanks guys!

Long story short… after dealing with Velasquez Mufflers and Brakes and trying to get a quote from Car-​X Tire & Auto, I drove in on a Sunday, he cut off the bad flex pipe, welded on the new one, and I was out of there in twenty minutes for half the price of everyone else. I will be taking my car here for any and all future exhaust work.

this guy saved me a ton of money! Midas quoted me $ 650 for a flex pipe and muffler. I took it to value muffler and he did it while I waited for 180 $ quick easy and affordable. Best muffler shop in Chicago!

Highly recommend this shop. I recently went in with a noise from what appeared to be the exhaust. He replaced a front pipe, a resonator and welded another new pipe to the existing muffler rather than replacing it and said the existing muffler was still of better quality than a new one he could install and that a new one would cost a lot.
I was there on a not extremely busy day so I waited, and it was done in 90 minutes at a very fair price. Honest shop. Recommended!

I went here twice. The second time I was disappointed. I got a center resonator replaced and they cut the old one out, put the new one in, and welded it. Later I noticed they welded directly to rusted pipes. That didnt last. The rust should be grinded off to bare metal so the weld will hold. It was cheap labor for a cheap fix and they cut corners. I will spend a little extra next time at a place that does it right.

I went to a couple of mechanics close to my place to install an oxygen sensor. They wanted nothing to do with it, since it was stuck. The guy at Value Plus had the old one off in about 5 minutes and the new one on in the same.
I asked him to take a look at my exhaust system and he gave me a clean bill of health.
Cheap, fast, honest, what more could you want.

Great shop to get your exhaust fixed quick! Drove right in on a Sunday no less. Fixed it in 20 minutes. $ 100 for a hole new pile with all the new hardware. Can’t beat it! Highly recommended. I called ahead to confirm they could get me in. They sure did. Way faster and cheaper than I thought it would be! Great experience!

My catalytic converter was stolen from my car. The guys at Value Plus Mufflers provided great service at a great price. Their customer service was amazing. These guys couldn’t have been better! I had a noisy muffler been quoted over $ 800 by Northside Toyota to replace the entire center pipe (including catalytic converter). I went to Value Plus (solely based on Unilocal reviews). They put the car on the lift, showed me where the pipe rusted away from the clamp towards the rear of the car and said they could just replace that part of the pipe… on the spot (5:00 on a Friday no less)…for 45 DOLLARS !!!
I hung out while they did the work, they showed me the work they did and I drove off with my little Scion that no longer sounded like a muscle car.
This place is for real. They are honest, kind, helpful and quick.
