Transient Sound is owned and operated by veteran Chicago musicians and producers Vijay Tellis-​Nayak and Steven Gillis, who have over 40 combined years of experience as in-​demand musicians and producers. Gillis and Tellis-​Nayak know how to get results that can help grow your fan base and attract industry attention. Our recording studio features a classic SSL 4048E/​G+ to get that big console sound, a rich live room, isolated vocal and piano rooms, and a one-​of-​a-​kind Yamaha C7 grand piano. Although equipment, acoustics and quality instruments always play a role in the recording process, Tellis-​Nayak and Gillis blend art and technology to help your music reach its highest potential. History

Established in 2007.

Steven Gillis and Vijay Tellis-​Nayak each ran successful home studios before building Transient Sound Recording Studio together with the help of master carpenter and studio builder/​designer Lane Wintz and his father Leon. Since Transient Sound opened its doors in 2008, Steven and Vijay have completed a long list of diverse recordings and productions, from Acoustic Jazz to Metal and everything in between, including notable projects with Grammy award winning artists Los Lobos and harmonica legend Howard Levy.
