Dr. Toyama and his staff are true professionals. He performed hernia surgery on me. He and his staff run a great operation. They got me in and out on my initial appointment. My hernia surgery went off without a hitch. My recovery was faster than expected and I credit Dr. Toyama for that. I would recommend him to anyone!

This is one super doctor who has talent and experience for repairing hernias. Did three of mine
quickly in 45 minutes, and is very proficient in minimally invasive laparascopic as
well as open hernia surgery. I had the LAP technique and only had to use over-​the-​counter
pain pills the next day. Highly recommended. I know NW Memorial is a pain to travel to,
but this doctor is the reward for the effort. You can have complete confidence with

P. S. There is one problem here with post operative care, should you have a problem after surgery, I was referred to my primary physician. They don’t seem to have a clinical nurse to advise on possible complications after surgery.

Being in the healthcare business, I am not easily impressed. I have known of Dr. Toyama from my days in the Operating Room. There, we rate surgeons and keep a mental ‘list’ of the only ones we would ever go to. When my husband needed surgery, I made sure he was in the gifted and capable hands of Dr. Toyama. Dr. Toyama was excellent. The procedure was a rough one surgically and he did an excellent job both in the OR, at the bedside and in his office. His skills are unparalleled and he is great with his patients.

He is an excellent Dr. He performed surgery on me twice. He can be trusted and doesn’t beat around the bush. The only problem is that he is at Northwestern,(see that review) other than that I give him very high remarks — I have had no complications from either of his procedures.
I personally have great disdain for Dr’s, so it should be noted that my 5 stars are really more like 10 in this case.

Whenever you write one of these doctor reviews, you have to disclose a certain amount of personal information as to why you went to them in the first place. Suffice it to say, I needed a surgeon for a tricky abdominal procedure, and Dr. Toyama came highly recommended by a coworker who had him perform the same procedure on her several years earlier.
Within 30 seconds of meeting Dr. Toyama, I felt at ease. He was calm and knew exactly what needed to be done – he specializes in laparoscopic, noninvasive surgical techniques. He listened to my concerns and answered every question concisely. For a young doctor, he spoke to me like he’d been practicing for 25 years. His office administrator, Toni, was a joy to work with – easy to access when I called in with questions and answers given in a gentle, personable attitude.

I work with this gentleman, and I vouch for his skills as an excellent surgeon. No nonsense and utterly straighforward.
