The On Time Courier

Our business used them for 13 years but they’ve made their last pick-​up for us. After stalking me and our operations manager over payment for a former employee’s personal order, he proceeded to call our operations manager an idiot (repeatedly). Really? This is how you treat your primary contact at a company you’ve done business with for thirteen years? Goodbye and good riddance.

I have never had such a miserable experience with a company in my life. This is actually my first time Unilocaling because I am fuming. My business has used them many times in the past, but this was my first personal experience. First, the phone was answered with, «what do you want?» Not exactly delightful, but that doesn’t even begin to describe what happens next. I requested a delivery of my husband’s ID to his office this morning — he’d left it at home and needed it for a flight. I made it clear that it needed to arrive by noon (or he’d miss his flight), no problems on their end according to «The On Time Courier» (they’ve got to be kidding with that name).
Well noon rolls around, and my husband calls and is told that it will be there in 20 minutes. At this point he could still maybe make his flight. Forty minutes later its still not there. I call them, very politely ask when it will arrive, am told the truck is «pulling up.» I let them know that my husband is going to miss his flight, and proceed to get SCREAMED at (mind you, I’m 8 months pregnant and have the flu and don’t even have the energy to be rude to the guy) and told to never call back again. I — still politely — share that we’ve used their services many times and I don’t understand why I’m getting this service. His response: WE’RE BUSY, click. Unbelievable. I would never, ever use them again and would advise you to do the same. I wish zero stars was an option.

At first I was mad but it makes it easier knowing I’m not the only one who has dealt with the incredible jerk who answers the phone. No one in my life has ever made me feel as insignificant as that man did and he is a complete stranger to me. Good delivery service is absolutely not worth that.

On Time Courier is GREAT! They’re priced reasonably and have great customer service. My law firm has been using On Time Courier for years and have never been disappointed.

AMAZING!!! We are a printer that has to meet daily important deadlines and they make this happen every time without a hitch. No package is too large, no deadline can not be met. I call, hang up the phone and they are here. The people on the phone are pleasant and quick and they pretty much have every address in their data base so you hardly ever need to give them one. The messengers are polite and prompt and actually friendly and nice. They are never in a bad mood even if its 110 degrees out or 11 below.
Use them if you need a reliable messenger service that you can count on for complex and simple deliveries.
Also VERY reasonably priced.

Ok, so to be fair we totally inconvenienced these guys. We called for Courier Service and had an issue with our phone/​buzzer so when he arrived no one answered the door (we’re on the 3^rd floor, 1^st floor is vacant and door cannot be unlocked from the outside). Our bad. Totally. However we certainly didn’t do this on purpose and sometimes things just happen right?
So I called to apologize and reschedule and here’s our conversation:
Guy: {condescending dick tone} «So you’re telling me, your phones went down — is that what you’re telling me?»
Me: Yes sir, I’m really sorry for the inconvenience. I just needed to reschedule.
Guy: {Sigh} «Fine, I’ll be there. Our phones don’t go down.» {click}
Ok, so he’s pissed. I get it but needs some serious customer service training. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. I pull double the cash and have ready for him when he gets here since he has to make a double trip. 2 hours go by, and no sign of him. I start to worry that our phones (which are connected wirelessly across multiple offices via the internet) are having connectivity issues again. I call back. Someone answers and transfers me back to the original guy. Here’s that conversation:
{picks up phone and immediately starts aggressively talking at me}
Guy: «You do realize that you weren’t there? You do realize that right? I’ll get someone over to you whenever I can.
Me: «Yes sir, I do understand. As I explained we were here but we had an issue with our phone system and I’m sorry. I’m willing to pay double for the inconvenience. The reason I’m calling is not to pester you, it’s just that I have to close at 5pm and the package needs to be delivered by 6pm and it’s 4:30. I just needed to make sure that the same issue had not occurred with our phone system and you were still coming. That’s all.»
Guy: «I’ll get someone over to you when I can.»
Ultimately, when it comes to a courier service all that really matters is that they come when called and get the delivery done. I’ve been using these guys on a monthly basis for years to send our taxes to our accountant — and they do come on time and the deliveries get done. But on principle, I’m done here. Customers make mistakes sometimes On-​Time. Most of the time they are nowhere nearly as apologetic or willing as I was to own their mistakes. It’s not your job to put people in their place, it’s your job to make sure they come back. Fail.
