Recent Success Stories:

Family Law: Dad came in because his license was suspended (a second time) because he owed over $ 40,000 in child support arrears. He was told he needed to pay ½ the balance to life the suspension. We successfully negotiated a release of the suspension with dad only having to make a $ 500.00 payment.

Family Law: Wife was not receiving child support from Ex-​husband for nearly a year. The firm was successfully able to get child support payments started as well as all related legal fees covered by the ex-​husband.

Criminal: Client was charged with felony driving on suspended license and facing minimum 6 months jail time. The alleged offense was caught on video. We successfully quashed the state’s evidence and the case was dismissed.

Civil: Client had more than $ 65,000 in debt owed to the city and was facing wage garnishment and possible job loss. We successfully negotiated the debt to under $ 2000.00.

Business Owner

Attorney Maria M. Barlow is licensed by the Supreme Court of Illinois as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Attorney Barlow was born, raised, and lives in Chicago – a true Chicago native. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Northeastern Illinois University and her Juris Doctor degree from The John Marshall Law School.



During law school, Ms. Barlow showed true leadership and dedication in her studies and extracurricular activities to prepare her to advocate zealously for her clients. Ms. Barlow took on many leadership roles including becoming the President of both the Black Law Students’ Association and the Public Interest Law Counsel. Because of her dedication and sharp litigation skills, Ms. Barlow was selected to participate and represent The John Marshall Law School in the Employment Law Trial Advocacy Competition.

Thereafter, Ms. Barlow took her litigation skills to the courtroom.
