Description

Specialties

The Duck Inn, a Rockit Ranch Production, is a Neighborhood Gastro-Tavern & Dining Room, situated at Loomis Street and the Chicago River, on the border of Chicago’s booming Pilsen and Bridgeport neighborhoods. It’s housed in a pre-prohibition era tavern that has continuously operated for almost a century and it showcases Michelin Rated Partner/Chef Kevin Hickey’s signature New American cuisine. An extensive beverage program filled with craft beers, craft cocktails, contemporary cocktails and creative wine service matches the food offerings. The Duck Inn offers small bar and snack menu for the front lounge/bar space open late night daily and a more traditional menu for the back dining room with first and main courses, a tasting menu and more.

History

Established in 2014.

Kevin Hickey, the Four Seasons Hotel veteran and executive chef behind Bottlefork and Rockit Ranch Productions, likely never imagined as he was playing Atari as a kid at the Gem Tavern in Bridgeport that he’d be re-opening its doors as a chef decades later under the name Duck Inn. And neighborhood residents likely never thought that what was once a casual tavern would house a dining and drinking experience where you could find something that is normally found north of the river. Pre-Prohibition neighborhood tavern in Bridgeport on the corner of Loomis and Eleanor, across from the Chicago River featuring New American cuisine, craft beer and cocktails and duck.

The space made contemporary with a Sixties-esque flair and modern design has kept a lot of its architecture and blueprint, including the original wood floors in the dining room. Behind the dining room, a future beer garden, Chef plans to also grow tomatoes for you to pick for your dish
