The Chow Brothers

We used the Chow Brothers for a holiday party at our house. Mark was a pleasure to work with. He was responsive, pleasant, meticulous and overall very professional. We looked into five different caterers for our party, and we chose the Chow Brothers because they were so helpful and diligent in putting together a proposal and helping us plan, and because their prices were much better than anyone else. The food was delicious and exactly what we wanted. Our guests were raving about the short rib sliders, so those are a must! The people Mark brought to our house on the day of the event (sous chef, server, bartender and coordinator) were unobtrusive and just as professional as Mark. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Two words: Professional and Delicious!
Our friends came up with and idea to have a chef cook at one of our homes for an engagement dinner. I was given the task to find a chef within our certain budget. I found The Chow Brothers through Unilocal.
Mark won our business because his promptness of response, the willingness to work with our budget, and timely coordination with many menu options to choose from.
We were supremely impressed with the presentation and the well prepared food. We had lobster saffron cups, pork belly candy cake, and basil mint zucchini rabi wraps as appetizers. Each one were carefully prepared and absolutely yummy. Our main course was absolutely Devine. We had biltong beef tenderloin roast which was melt in your mouth awesomeness. And as a side, the butternut squash mushroom risotto, of which, I was wishing I had saved extra room for another helping, because it was THAT good.
Overall, I would definitely use the Chow Brothers again! It was extremely stress free to host a party and their service was top notch and the food was delicious! We really enjoyed our party and can’t wait to do another one with the Chow Brothers.

We won an in home cooking session with the Chow Brothers at a Chicago charity event. We bid on the prize after joining the Chow Brothers a few weeks earlier for their brunch event and had a great time and really delicious eats, and were excited to book our meal at home.
Mark was so helpful during the planning process. When we explained that we’d prefer to just hang out and let them play private chef rather than get involved in the hands on cooking, he was completely game. When we asked if we could add two more people to make it dinner for 6 instead of the dinner for 4 that he donated for the silent auction and offered to pay any additional costs, Mark assured us he’d work with the menu and keep it within budget to add the extra folks. Mark couldn’t have been more accommodating and everything came together quite smoothly.
How was the food?
We had a pretty veteran group of diners at the dinner, when the duck ravioli came out with a reduced cream sauce I noticed one of our friends, who run religiously and treats his body like a temple (granted a wine & beer soaked temple), scraping away some of the sauce. He’s had plenty of cream sauces and he knows that he simply isn’t a big enough fan to justify the calories. Then, I looked back a few moments later and realized that he had polished off every bit of sauce on the plate.
Translation: the food was amazing.
Mark also cleaned up after they were done in the kitchen before we even noticed what was happening and left us happy and fat. It was a great experience having them cook in our home and I’d heartily endorse their dining events as highly as I recommend their private chef offering.

I had the pleasure of attending a Chow Brother’s event. I had a great time, enjoyed wonderful food and the overall ambiance of the event. The Chow Brothers have a passion, or as they like to say «gusto» for food and it comes through in everything they do — down to the smallest detail, which they do not miss.
