The Chakra Shoppe is dedicated to the care and development of the human spirit and the subtle energy bodies. We provide aromatherapy body products for enhancing the chakras, gemstone jewelry, books, crystals, herbs, vibrational healing tools, music and other educational aids. Independent practitioners who are trained experts and have a proven track record are available for private sessions and group classes. Founder, Blanche Blacke, is available for Chakra Analysis and Healing and Past Life Regression by appointment.

History

Established in 2005.

The Chakra Shoppe is a natural growth for healer and teacher, Blanche Blacke who has aided thousands with her spiritual healing abilities. Apprentice for five years with shaman and author, Joy Gardner-​Gordon, Blanche assistant taught the Vibrational healing Training Program in Hawaii from 1996 to 1999. In 1999, she created Blanche Blacke’s School of Chakra Consciousness and taught in centers around the United States and Great Britain. She developed The Chakra Shoppe aromatherapy formulas for enhancing the chakras in 2003 and opened The Chakra Shoppe in 2005.

I’ve been to this shop a couple of times and I recieved a reading once and bought a couple of items. The reading I had was with Deanne is a straight to the point person and did a good job. The next couple of days I came in because I wanted to learn how to read tarot So April showed me how that was great they have workshops often and a newsletter when they exciting stuff going on. I highly recommend this place. Will visit again.

Since my first experience with Blanche, I have also had a chakra balancing with Henia, and I can also highly recommend her. At the time, Henia had been working on her practicum and she had just begun practicing healing sessions with clients. This was exactly a year ago in Spring 2014. I was surprised to learn that she had just begun her work as a healing practitioner, because she was a complete natural. She has an innate gift to do this kind of healing work. I had a very profound healing session with her, despite not really thinking I had much to work on that week. The session was incredible, and I was able to instantaneously release an emotional blockage that I had unknowingly been carrying for years. As a result, I have gained a lot of insight and I have been able to heal even further independently over the course of the year. I am so grateful for my session with Henia, and I am definitely going to work with her again in the future. Also, she is a very loving and calm person to be around with great energy. Definitely recommended.

I recently attended an event at the Chakra Shoppe. While I was there I decided to try out one of the special mini sessions the owner, Blanche, was doing for this event. I signed up for their email event notices awhile back but never seem to get my schedule to line up to attend the events. Anyway…
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of a «Chakra Balancing» as I’m somewhat new to this whole thing but consider myself to be an «I will try anything once» kida guy. So with open mind I sat, should say laid, down for the session.
I was SHOCKED at how on point she was giving how little I gave her to work with, she gave me excellent advise and I left felling as though all the issues I was having prior to the session had now received new direction /​solutions.
Now… for the main reason I felt compelled to write this review. Blanche uses/​sells these aura sprays. I know about the aura a little and have seen these sprays at other shops and events and I’ve always been skeptical. But holy shit, right as she is saying she sees my root chakra looks like it has been torn in two, she sprays my crotch area from about two feet away and I can literally feel heat coming from about that distance through my clothes. And that folks, that made this guy a skeptic no-​mas.
Blanche is a terrific lady with a ton of energy and her store is full of great things to help get you balanced. I totally recommend stopping by.

As my first experience with tarot or readings/​healings I’m glad I chose Chakra Shoppe as my first place. Blanche is an extremely warm and intuitive individual and immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome. I went through a past-​life regression with her and it was a truly incredible experience. I’ve never felt energy run through my body quite like that before. I’d love to go back and try a different sort of reading, not sure which but I would definitely go again.
I had April read my tarot and do some numerology work with me and she also is incredibly warm and welcoming. I felt like she was absolutely right on with some of the things she told me about my life and also forecasted. We’ll see, I hope she was right about all of it but we’ll find out in the next six months!

I have been working with Blanche through the Chakra clearing sessions (about 5 in total). Our work together has been amazing! Through the process, I have gained freedom, joy and clarity of vision by letting go of limiting thoughts and/​or energetic blocks. Two sessions ago, I came home to receive 5 new possibilities for performance opportunities the very next day (I am a professional musician)! After this session, I already have 2 more in the works. Blanche is very professional, full of joy and healing energy. The sessions are poignant, powerful, respectful and filled with laughter! I recommend her to anyone who wants to take the next step forward in life.

if you believe in vibrations, energies, spirituality this is the place to come to release and balance them. whatever it is you may be going through, or something in you or your past that is calling your attention to it, Blanche will help you release those things we no longer need in our lives. those things that is keeping us from moving forward. i wish i could come here all the time, and hang out on the couch and just listen to the interesting conversations they have. but i feel like that would be inappropriate. its a small place and you could hear a little bit through the walls. any how its a good positive place to be. they have these body sprays infused in essential oils that i always come for. they smell so nice and i always feel refreshed when i spray it on me. theres a few different kinds which corresponds the each chakra so its always kinda nice to pick which one you feel like you need to address. i also love the Bach and FES flower essences. i don’t know of anywhere else to get them but here and Merz. this place is a hidden gem.
i do have to say, though that the shop girl doesn’t seem to give off a very nice vibe. but I come for Blanche. She’s such a unique and powerful spirit.

Blanche was awesome. I had a few other people say that I needed to have my chakras balanced but I got a bad vibe from them and they felt like scams. So when I read the Chakra Shoppe’s reviews I thought it would be a good fit.
It really was a powerful experience. At one point I was sobbing, I felt a pulsing energy on my sacral chakra when she was opening that one up and weight lift off me. The other cool thing was my allergies were acting up (I’ve never had them before this year) and every time she opened a chakra they cleared up but when we moved to a new one they came back and I couldn’t breathe. Blanche said allergies can be a result of disappointment in love… which is always and definitely strong this year.
She started off the session with the angels giving her an image of me in a past life having a lot of children and hence not wanting them in this life. This is why I have such a maternal energy about me, but also why I push away men, because I am afraid of having children. Pretty powerful stuff to start off with and be spot on with. She talked about my father’s energy blocking my foot from moving forward, we released my mom’s energy from my body I have been carrying around. It was a great session and if she isn’t legit it worked for me and I left there feeling lighter and happier.

I wish I could remember the name of the lady I got a tarot card reading from but I can’t. This was a very unpleasant experience, she didn’t have much insight into my life, it all seemed very general. I have had another reading and the psychic knew many things about me without me having to ask questions. This lady did not, it was a waste of money. I feel like she was watching the clock the entire time waiting until I handed her the cash.
Don’t waste your time.

A friend and I had tarot readings with DeAnne. She was very kind, informative, and the readings were as we expected. I would definitely suggest coming in for at least a 20-​minute tarot reading with DeAnne (Wednesdays 2−6PM is when she is in the store) and checking out the rest of the store – filled with aromatherapy oils, tarot card decks, incense, a large variety of smudge sticks, candles, and teas. They also have singing bowls, pendulums, and jewelry made with crystals and minerals.
The owner, Blanche, was very kind and welcoming. She seems like a wonderful person and I know I will be back to visit her in the future.
Street parking is ample, too.

This place is great. Blanche is very insightful and radiates positive energy.
One of many things she has helped me with was a physical issue I was having with my knee. I went to a doctor before who told me the pain I was having would go away after I wore a brace for awhile, thinking it was a minor sprain. No swelling, just hurting whenever I walked. Since Blanche helped me through the process of finding the root of the problem and using crystal healing, I haven’t had any problems with it since. Truly amazing. Thank you Blanche :)

I just visited April for a Tarot reading at the Chakra Shoppe for my second time — the first was 4 years ago when I was going through another major life change.
April is wonderful. She makes you feel comfortable, she is confident but warm-​hearted, and is truly gentle and sensitive to your needs. It is clear that she has been doing Tarot readings for a very long time and she can read them without needing to look up each card’s meaning… no wasting time, she gets right to the heart of the matter in an instant and has helped me twice now to determine in which direction I should take my life.

I really enjoyed my visit here. I have walked by this place a hundred times, and never thought to go in, but after talking to my friend who is into reiki, I decided to explore it.
I purchased some rocks, or crystals… For the types of energy I wanted to mend. Blanche was helpful to make suggestions.
I had some chakra tea, which was wonderful. The energy in the place was calming, positive, and welcoming,
I ended up having a tarot reading with April. She was nice. I am not really into tarot, but it was interesting. She gave me a 6 month reading … It seemed off to what is going on in my life, but we’ll see. I didn’t have many questions for her. Most of my search was to remove negative energies I’m facing in my professional life, but nonetheless, I enjoyed my reading.
After leaving, I felt relaxed and positive (where usually I am anxious and tense) and for that I will go back.

I had a good experience here.
It’s true, this isn’t a place that has loads of different merchandise. But it does have a number of chakra-​specific items. It’s a small store, it’s a specific type of product. If you live in the Chicago area, it’s worth coming and checking it out. This is the kind of place you should go to have the experience of having gone– yes, you went to a store named The Chakra Shoppe and you saw lots of Chakra items. It’s right next to Lincoln Square, where there are multiple other cool stores/​cafes/​etc.
I fear that in 10 years or so, these stores will all have moved online. Take the opportunity while you can have the chance.
The staff were friendly and welcoming to me.
I had a Tarot reading and it seemed very sincere and above-​board.

I have attended a workshop and had a session with Blanche and I cannot say enough good things about her and this place. Blanche is beyond welcoming and gives off a very warm and gentle vibe.
During my session she was able to help and guide me in a time of need and for that I am eternally grateful. She told me things about myself that she had absolutely no way of knowing. She’s truly gifted. Additionally, she is kind, wise and non-​judgmental and I would recommend her services a million times over.
I have purchased several things from her store and loved them all. My favorite is the chakra sprays she offers.

Very small shop offering different types of classes, readings, chakra healing, etc. In addition, they sell crystals, stones, meditation CDs, books, aromatherapy items (sprays, oils, candles, etc.), different type of smudging items, jewelry. For a smaller store, they have a nice little variety of stuff.
The owner was nice, she introduced herself and offered to help, if we needed it. I was there with my son and we looked around a bit — we were the only two in there and we felt a little uncomfortable. Maybe if they had some music playing it would have felt a little better, the silence was making it feel weird in there. Normally I can spend hours — even in little shops. I just picked a few items and left quickly. Nothing heebie-​jeebie — just an uncomfortable silence.
If I ever run out of my current stash of sage and I can’t get any anywhere else, I would come back here. But they really should consider playing some background music, or getting a water fountain or something — I’m all for a quiet setting, but sometimes, it feels creepy.
