The Cara Program addresses poverty and unemployment in Chicago by giving homeless and disadvantaged individuals the opportunity to secure permanent employment through a comprehensive range of training, support, and job placement services. We mitigate many barriers to employment and address the need for skilled workers in Illinois by providing the men and women we serve with on-the-job training and industry-linked training courses. We also maintain relationships with 100+ Chicagoland employers who trust the quality of our candidates for filling their entry-level positions. Since 1991, The Cara Program, has placed more than 3,700 individuals into quality employment and sustained one-year employment retention rates of 70% or better.
