usually when you go into beauty product stores three things happen. 1. no one pays attention to you 2. they hover the whole time 3. when you ask about a product they don’t really know anything about it.
I’m glad I had a 4! I walked in and I was greeted with workers that have wonderful skin (exactly what I want to see with products I’m about to buy). I was looking for a product my friend was telling me about and she knew exactly what i was talking about.
When I started to look at other products she politely excused herself and told me to just ask if I needed anything else. She gave me her suggestions and told me her personal preferences which I loved and I left with three products instead of one. Good sell.
I wish I remembered her name… But thank you so much for being a 4! LOL :)

I’ve been shopping at this location for years. I’ve always had a good experience. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. They always provide great recommendations and good conversation. The store is well organized and clean too.
Products that are a must:
— Camomile eye make-​up remover
— any satsuma product
— tea tree oil face wash
— vitamin c boost lotion

Tiny, and really nothing interesting here. I bought the groupon, and struggled to find $ 30 worth of stuff that would have been appreciated as a gift for anyone.

I love their body butters! right now buy 2 get 1 free or buy3 get 3 free. I got a bunch which will last me well into spring. The beautiful aroma candles can be smelled anywhere in the 1 mile radius.

This specific location of the Body Shop has always been so good to me. The staff there are so friendly, helpful and accommodating to help you find what you need. I have never walked in and felt pressured to buy, but I have always been greeted and treated nicely.
Even during the holiday season when it was a few days before Christmas, and the line was practically out the door, the workers there were patient and not stressed. They even apologized for the wait when actually, it was moving quite fast. Shame on me for last minute shopping to begin with.

I have to admit I mainly come here for their Maca root men’s SPF facial moisturizer… shopping around a bit it was hard to find anything similar that wasn’t too oily or too sunlotion-​y, that had some skin protection from the sun from daily use. I was sold and I have been using it for over a year, and since they had a nice sale (look for them, 40% or groupons) I bought enough for the next year. Now I am 40 going on 18 (so I think). Store is smaller in this location but a key central strip on State street and generous/​nice service.

Beware if you have a Groupon. When you buy a store generated promotional item-​that is, «buy one get one 50% off» or «buy 2 and the third is free”-the full value of your Groupon will not be applied. Although I love this shop (usually don’t go here because prices are high for my budget), I didn’t get any special deal like I was led to believe by Groupon ($ 10 for $ 20 worth of merchandise). I realized this fact too late– when I got on the subway and looked at my receipt and saw a $ 10 deduction not $ 20 Groupon deal, which was basically the price I paid for the Groupon. Wish the cashier would’ve let me know about this limitation/​exclusion???

Was here yesterday taking advantage of my birthday month gift and there was a sale. For me their coconut body butter is a can’t live without product. It is very rejuvenating and full of moisture and I have numerous comments on the terrific scent. Plus when you are a member you receive 10% off each purchase and when you have so many points you receive dollars to spend in the store so they have a very nice rewards program going on. And then what I did purchase was already 25% off so all in all an approximate 50% off my purchase. The store smells great. The staff is very helpful and excited about your savings. And the product eally works. What could be better?

Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. I was looking for Oil Burners and she offered recommendations. I ended up utilizing a great promotion they had going on — Buy 3 get 2 Free. Great deal, I ended up buying an Oil Burner and 4 oils. I highly recommend Body Shop’s burners — I have tried another brand and did not like it at all. My mom has had a few over the years — and they are long lasting.
She offered me their rewards card for additional $ 10, I don’t shop as frequently at Body Shop — because I really like Bath and Body Works. I turned the rewards card down — but wouldn’t mind if any Unilocalers have tips or experience with their rewards points. Is it worth it?
Had an enjoyable shopping experience, left the store smiling and couldn’t wait to try out my new burner and oils!

this is a good ‘un. i walked in here last friday afternoon with a groupon in hand, unaware that there was a massive sale going on. 5 stars for the following:
+1 for gladly accepting my groupon during their holiday sale (as most place with groupons will restrict you by days, and sometimes even hours). an employee told me that sometimes they purposefully overlap groupons with sales. hot!
+1 customer service. BIG YAY. this is a teensy space, it’s holiday season, there’s mayhem. and every single person there was calm, welcoming, and seemed more than happy to answer my multiple questions. the ladies behind the counter moved the checkout line very quickly and smoothly, so i barely had any wait!
+1 for stocked merchandise. everything i wanted was easily found.
+1 for general store policies on using local materials and quality of product.
+1 for SALE. big time right now. i saved major moolah and got at least 4 christmas presents checked off the list.
no doubt, this place makes me a happy girl!

I love this store… this particular store. I’m definitely a Body Shop girl as I care about where my products are coming from and a store’s corporate responsibilty (to answer the rhetorical question asked by the angry Groupon-​er).
However, all Body Shops are not created equal. The store on State Street has very helpful and very knowledgable staff. Whoever was working the afternoon before Thanksgiving, thanks for the hook-​up. I got a great deal on the products I needed, not to mention the gift bag valued at $ 120 for $ 25, the contents of which are going to make a few good Christmas presents :)
It was at this store that I had a girl’s night with some friends and the person doing my makeup (not the best makeover — terrible lighting for that) recommended the Tea Tree line for my skin. I have never had another problem with acne and that was 3 years ago. I swear by it. It’s the only thing I will use. Sooo glad I went that night!

I love their products and even more so I love the sales. I have the Love My Body card which allows me 10% off on all purchases. During certain times this card allows me 20% off.
The products smell real and natural. The staff is friendly and helpful. They dont look at you funny if you come in only for a free gift when you have a free gift coupon. I love that! I can be a cheap-​o and they still are nice to me.

LOVE this place, I always get greeted as soon as I walk in the door, and always get asked for any help. I get what I want and walk out happy.
However, I wish they have the Peach Body butter back in stock, it was the best smelling and moisturized body butter I have ever bought!

I’ve been using the Body Shop’s body butter since I first tried it on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO. I love that they work with local farmers to buy their ingredients and practice fair trade.
Went here Sunday for a quick drop in to see what was new. WOWOW, there’s a lot of new types of body butter and they had a sale: buy 3, get 2 free !! They are normally $ 20/​each so I was excited to get my favorites Satsuma and Mango and try some new ones too (Love, Lemon, and Grapefruit).
We live in NM where it’s about 5% humidity, so I suffer from super dry skin. These products, which are not tested on animals, do a great job helping with that. Definitely recommended. The sales associate was very helpful too, without being pushy. Nice experience.

The one thing I need, they didn’t have. WTF? Is it too hard to keep
tea tree oil facial wash in stock?

I’ve waited a few months to write this review because I wanted to try various products. So far, so good. I love the hair products. I’ve gotten the Nettle Oil Balance Shampoo and Conditioner (works beautifully if you have oily hair), the Ginger Anti-​Dandruff Shampoo and the Honey Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. All smell and work great. I just purchased the Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick. It doesn’t have a good taste but it made my lips SO soft. I was not a fan of the pushy sales girl, but that is not nearly enough to keep me away. I can handle her. If you get the Body Shop rewards card, you save each time you go in there. I was at my «3^rd Point» and I got a free $ 15 product of my choice. I got the Spa Wisdom Africa Spa Hand and Foot Butter. I love the smell and the way it makes my hands feel.

Thanks to some of The Body Shops products for my having great skin (and still looking young at 3_​something). I am a huge fan of their Vitamin E and C face and lip balm products and have now added their Seaweed face cleanser on my next shopping trip. This particular store went through a makeover a few months ago, but it still looks and smells the same? The employees are nice and only a handful can be pushy on products and any current sales promotion at least twice during the time you are in the store. I get it: «Two for one on the body butters this week only!» You mentioned it as soon as I opened the door! Well, I can’t complain because I was convinced to try the seaweed face cleanser thingy and so far can’t get enough of it. I recommend getting the membership card if you shop at the store frequently (and if you don’t mind paying for a card). Just like most card thingies, once the points accumulate, you get a free product of your choice. Pssst: You even get a free thing on your birthday.

Chicago winters are brutal.
Chicago winters are especially brutal on my delicate, excema-​prone skin.
Every December, when my skin starts to get super dry, rough & patchy, I do two things: a. contemplate packing everything up & moving to Miami & b. start experimenting with lotions & creams. I have literally tried everything from cheap-​o drugstore lotions like Jergens to fancy-​pants, insanely expensive stuff from Sephora & Macy’s. Nothing has ever worked *quite* the way I wanted it to.
This year, however, my skin found its holy grail: the Body Shop’s Shea Body Butter. Simply put, the stuff is amazing. It keeps my super dry winter skin moisturized without feeling greasy. It has a very nice, light cocoa butter smell (cocoa butter is an additional ingredient) that dries down to no scent within minutes of applying it.
The drawback to the Shea Body Butter is that it’s relatively pricey: it’s $ 20 for 6.9 ounces of product, and I go through about one a month in the winter. However, this stuff is so wonderful for my skin I’ve learned to deal & gladly pay up.
Because this Body Shop is the closest to where I work, this is the store I go about once a month or every other month to shop. In addition to the Shea Body Butter, TBS has a few other products that I enjoy. Just about any of the other body butters are definitely worth trying, and their foaming baths & body scrubs are really incredible for your own personal spa day. TBS products are on the pricier side, but they’re generally worth it & they have great sales several times a year (the one before Christmas is especially worth checking out).
The only drawback is the staff: they are pushy, pushy, pushy. Whenever I come in, I am immediately asked if I need any help. After I politely decline, another staff member will usually come up and ask if I need help again. It can get a little irritating when you either know what you want or just want to browse in peace. They will also push new products & the «rewards club» card (which I finally broke down and purchased) in a major way. The card is worth it if you shop here a lot like I do, but not if you come in once or twice a year.
Since there’s not much I can do about the staff, I continue to come here for my holy grail body butter. After all, a girl can’t have dry skin for the six months that Chicago experiences winter weather.

On State Street, you know exactly where this store is because of its pungent fragrances wafting out of the door and into the street towards students, tourists, and other passerbys. I really like the Body Shop and the quality of their products produced eco friendly long before it became fashionable to be «green.» Their creams are especially rich and hold in moisture well. Though, the scents aren’t as wide range as say Bath and Body Works, you go for the quality. I’ve always had great customer service here. It’s one of the few companies where you’re going to be greeted and treated as a customer not an inconvience.
I also like this Body Shop because of a bi-​annual charity drive that they do. Generally, twice a year and also year round (you have to ask to be sure) they collect used cellphones and donate them to a charity that gives them to abused women. When the bf and I were moving and consolidating, both of us had old, out of date and fashion phones that needed to disposed of quickly. Through a little research, I found out that the Body Shop donates them. Through their work with the charity, I have a new respect for the Body Shop and its eco-​friendly, charitable mission as well as smelling really good.

Did I ever tell you about the time I almost fainted in this Body Shop?
It was a freakishly warm day in the middle of winter and I needed some hand cream. I know that this shop is so fragrant that I can smell it a block away, but I knew exactly what I needed. I’ll run in, grab my Almond Oil Daily Hand Cream (which is fantastic!), pay for it, and be out in the fresh air in no time. Well, because it was winter they had their heat on full blast, despite the unnaturally warm day outside.
I found my hand cream and got to the check-​out counter. No one was waiting in line, and thank God because the room started spinning. I paid for my items, but the girl behind the counter kept asking me questions.
«Do you want to be on our mailing list?» No.
«Are you interested in our preferred customer card?» No.
«Would you like a sample of our {whatever product they are trying to sell}? Yes, just please hurry.
«Are you sure you don’t want a preferred customer card?»
For the love of all that is holy, lady! I need to sign my credit card receipt before I faint! Hurry up and stop asking me questions!!!
The Body Shop has decent products. Nothing spectacular. Stay away from this store on global warming days.
