Meet the Business Owner
Christian M.
Business Owner
For Christian Moreno, the key to opening his first restaurant was sticking to what he knew: the recipes he grew up with and the neighborhood he grew up in.
Inspired by the dinners shared by his Mexican-immigrant family, the 30-year-old lifelong Bucktown resident opened The Art of Chicken, a Latin-infused fast-casual spot at 2041 N. Western Ave.
Styled to a resemble a chicken coop, the 20-seat restaurant serves up quarter, half and whole grilled (never fried) chickens in two styles: slathered in a tangy marinade (El Jefe) or seasoned with a blend of spices (Crazy Chico). Craving something outside the poultry variety? Look elsewhere. Other than a small selection of side orders including Spanish rice, grilled vegetables and fries, chicken is the alpha and the omega of Moreno’s recently opened eatery that he says has been in the works for years.
