My desktop computer was recently «hacked» or somehow compromised, and with me being technically challenged, needless to say I was distraught.
Tech Shield saved the day. I brought in my computer, and the very next day it had been restored and was working like new, in fact, better than ever. Leaving my computer with Lotfy, the associate who helped me at Tech Shield, I somehow knew I was leaving it in good hands. There was something very calming about him, and I just knew he would do a good job.
In short, I was very impressed with his expertise, and how me made a special effort to reassure me. Thanks to Lotfy, the whole experience with Tech Shield was pleasant and I am a very satisfied customer.

I am SO happy with the repairs done to my phone. It was cracked beyond recognition and Apple would not fix it due to it being refurbished. Lotfy was SO helpful and put my mind at ease. He even fixed the damaged corner of my phone which I was not expecting to even be possible. I am so grateful I stumbled across this business and highly recommend it!

Guy was super nice, my husband’s japanese laptop charger broke and was so worried about how to replace it, they had one and charged me about 40 $, which saved me a lot considering I didn’t have to mess around with amazon and shipping fees, will definitely come back if any other tech breaks

Tried to use their services and went to their store at 10am and, while the door said that they open at 9am, it was still locked. Additionally, there was no sign on the door giving me any indication on when to expect their return.
I can’t imagine trusting my technology items to a company that does keep regular hours.

I was writing a paper for finals when I spilled an entire cup of coffee on my laptop. I went straight to Tech Shield to get my computer checked out. The damage was beyond repair but Lotfy was so patient and helped me recover all of my notes from the semester including my final paper! Tech Shield and Lotfy were awesome and I would recommend going there with any computer issues!

They repaired a severely damaged screen on my IPad in less than two hours. S aged me several hundred dollars in either buying a new IPad or letting Apple repair. Perfect job. Highly recommend.

This 5 star review is a mixed bag:
I paid 250+ tax (including labor) to get a solid state drive
I was told it was fixed
I was misinformed and my computer continued to not be able to find the drive
I go back.
I am told the battery is dying, but everything should now be fine
I was again misinformed.
On what becomes my third visit to the store, I was angry. How has such a simple thing turned into such a hassle? why has no one offered me anything more than a half hearted apology? I ask Spencer, who works closely with the owner, and he acknowledges my frustration and says the cord connecting my drive and my computer has likely gone bad. He fixes it free of charge.
I however am too mad at the inconvenience to let this go. So I come back to explain my frustration directly to the owner. Poor Spencer again had to absorb the brunt of my frustration as the owner never seemed to appear. I again leave irritated, but both my mood and my rating would improve.
That night i got a call from Spencer, who was able to fix my actual problem, saying he had discussed my concerns with the owner and would like to offer me a free service.
FINALLY. Some acknowledgment that there had been a mistake. For all my complaining they do care if you are happy with their service and want it right. You may have to ruffle a few feathers in the event you are unhappy, but I was given excellent compensation for the issue, great service by Spencer and a second life for my Macbook

This place is great! I have been dealing with an old sony vaio dinosaur machine for a while. I usually can fix it on my own and get it to at least start working. However, this time I could not. They are right down the street from me and I have walked by there several times. I was afraid, like any place that they would over charge me and tell me I needed more done than the normal. I am a blonde and a girl so you never know. Thankfully, I do know a thing or two about computers :) However, they were more than friendly, willing to work with me and gave me a great deal! They even saved my documents on a cd for back up and had it done in less than 24 hours. They called me as soon as they opened. Its up and running and working faster and better! I now know where I will go the next time I need anything done or to buy a new laptop! This place is great — highly recommend!!!

The fiancé was «cleaning» the office, the desk broke and my beautiful 27″ iMac fell to the floor. I put cleaning in quotes because, let’s be honest… was he really cleaning or is that another word for «standing on the desk»?
Either way… the iMac, my baby, had a massively shattered screen. Luckily, she still turned on & seemed to be functioning OK, save for the shards of glass that were sticking out & had fallen behind the screen. After a short minute of panic, fear & near-​tears while seemingly praying in front of the iMac, I got off my knees and searched the internets for a way to fix her. Do-​it-​yourself iMac screen repair didn’t exactly seem like it would be my forte, so the next best bet was to search Unilocal & find a pro that could do it for me. Enter Tech Shield.
I dropped her off on a Thursday night, and I had her back the following week, shiny & new! Tech Shield was reasonably priced (in my opinion), fast, friendly & very communicative.
I hope to never need a glass repair again, but if I do, Tech Shield will be my go-​to.

Really happy with my Macpro. I spelled a glass of milk and the display went dark. Borack is the guy who ordered parts and get it done for $ 200 which is not bad at all. Could not be happier. Thanks to them.

I had been to this place before. Service i had was decent again.
In my first visit i needed data recovery, which was well done with no problems. They also ran virus and performance check.
This time i went for some repair. My computers fan was making noise and it needed a change. Burak was very helpful, explanatory and priced the service very affordable. There were some small software issues to be pointed, which he fixed free of charge.
I was expecting it to take a couple of days. But unlike other repair shops, it was very quick. He said it should take no longer than half an hour, so i went to next door to grab a coffee, while waiting for my computer.
If you have any issues with your computer, i highly recommend this place.

This place is pretty cool. It’s more like a computer hospital than repair shop as individuals are always staggering in with cracked screens, software questions, and other emergency computer problems. Burak is always helping someone and educating people. Very knowledgeable and capable guy. We’re hell on computers so we’ve been in here frequently getting our cracked screens and other cosmetic issues fixed and then Tech Shield just put back together my old school white mac book which Apple wouldn’t or couldn’t fix. Tech Shield put in a new hard drive and now it runs super fast. Reasonable prices and great service. They also have resale laptops and other stuff for sale. Great place if you have computer issues, and who doesn’t?

The power went out in my house and my computer would not start. Apple said they would NOT repair the damage because I have a 2008 IMac. I found these guys on Unilocal and brought my computer there. An hour after I dropped it off they called me back with a diagnosis (which was free). I needed a new hard drive and it took them about 1 day to fix. They installed a new hard drive and recovered about 100 gigs of data from the damaged hard drive. They were very friendly and informative the entire time. This was not expensive at all and obviously much cheaper than buying a new computer. I would highly recommend this place to anybody experiencing computer issues.

These guys are the best! Honest, quick, and reasonably priced. My Mac Book Pro decided it had enough one day. My husband and I tried everything, but it kept giving me the «restricted access» sign every time I tried to boot it up. I live around the corner from this store, and had passed it a zillion times, but never had the reason to go in. After reading other Unilocaler’s reviews, i decided to see what they could do.
I took my laptop in, and they asked what the problem was. I made the «restricted access» sign in the air, and they knew exactly what to do. They ran tests, called me later that night, and told me my hard drive was fried, which I had kind of already figured based on my google searches. Anyway, they laid out the options, and noted a $ 47 difference between replacing the hard drive with a 500 GB versus a 1TB. I went with the 1 TB, and before taxes the entire repair only cost me $ 297. This continues to blow my mind as I know apple «geniuses» or whatever would have had a field day screwing me over.
Even better, i was able to pick up my computer the next day. Unfortunately they could not save the stuff from my old hard drive, but gave me a referral to a service who could give me a free estimate to do so.
And just to top this off, I don’t know if it is what they always do… but they installed microsoft office on my new hard drive so I could get right back to doing what I was doing. I was floored that they did this, because I was already checking prices for microsoft office and wishing I still had a student discount.
Also, Mr. Bean, the little dog that probably secretly runs the place, is adorable. I love this neighborhood, and love places that have a sort of «office pet» running around. It says a lot about a business to me, and the people that run it. Obviously, not in food establishments… but you know what I mean.
I will send my husband here when he eventually admits he can’t fix the computer he built on his own by himself. I also highly recommend these guys to anyone reading this.

I took my macbook pro and iPad there for repairs. My 4 year old macbook was running really slow and I had taken it to the Apple store where they recommended I buy a new laptop. I decided to bring it to Tech Shield, where they ran tests and saw my hard rive was failing. They replaced my hard drive and now it is working great!
With the iPad, all I needed was the screen replaced because it was shattered and they did this for $ 100 but it would have been more if I hand’t been buying the new hard drive as well.
The reason I took away 1 star was because the day I dropped it off the guy that was working there was a little rude and when I asked how long he thought he would take he just said «whenever it’s ready.» When I tried calling the same guy was also short and not helpful.
When I came to pick it up, the man I dealt with was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this place and will go back myself.
