Tasty Place Bakery & Cafe

It’s fast casual small diner. it’s not bad but it’s not the best. the short rib with black pepper was good as was the fish fillet with Chinese broccoli. Service was friendly and you can byob.

I don’t know why I go to Tasty Place anymore? Not to be confused with the other Tasty Place bakery and café across the street from them down the block. Tasty place has gotten more expensive and their food isn’t that great anymore. I spent $ 15 on Ice milk tea, lemon Ice tea, 2 egg tarts, and I ordered haw gow and pot stickers it cost me $ 15… That was not how it use to be. It takes so long to get the order out too. They were massively busy on a Saturday but their deals for breakfast aren’t good. If they have a breakfast set I know they don’t tell anyone about it. Very disappointed with them over prices.

This place is a jewel. The taste is right — not over powering, not oily & not over salted. The menu options never fails. The serving size is a nice balance, not filled with filler vegetables & you will not feel short changed. A key note — their flat rice noodles are divine! If I remember correctly, they do cook big tray batches for parties. You would need to ask to confirm.

Must try ice milk tea with tapioca… Addiction that is cheap! Their food is fairly priced as well

Very busy and packed on a Sunday morning. I ordered the stuffed beef noodles, beef balls, and har gow. They were all delicious. Food was made to order. I would highly recommend. The only thing is that seats can be hard to find as people just grab and sit.

I can’t stress how amazing this restaurant is. I’ve walked the mile to china town from my hotel everyday to try something new, and have yet to be disappointed. The crab Rangoon is off the hook, and the dim sum and wontons will blow your mind. I’ve tried some of the more highly reviewed places like Chi Café, but I was really unimpressed. Tasty Place is a tucked away secret that everyone should find.

ordered the black pepper beef rice box. the price was cheap and the portion was big. the flavor was decent… had a little kick to it but i wish there was a little more meat.
i would come back to try other stuff from the menu.

My first time trying this place and after reading the reviews I can see the inconsistencies.
I think they are well known for their morning dim and sum and breakfast buns.
I came here for a quick dinner and was satisfied but ordered my bill was not so cheap because I ordered full entrees and fresh vegetables.
The wonton noodle soup had perfectly good cooked noodles but I wish the wontons contained some shrimp in them but do not and the BBQ pork was not fresh and more roasted rather than BBQ’d.
The Salt and Pepper Japanese style tofu was perfectly cooked as were the fresh vegetables.
I would definitely come back again and order different items to try but not the wontons next time.

Great buns

Good and cheap! Not the classiest of places, but it was cute and the service was nice. I had the singapore fried rice noodles, one of my favorites and it was good, but not spicy enough for my liking and it also didn’t have enough vegetables in it. The wonton noodle soup was well seasoned and the noodles were perfectly cooked as well. I really don’t have anything to complain about, it was a great meal.

The food here is pretty good and the bakery items are good and fresh too. I normally come here for the Mongolian Beef Rice Box and add a fried egg, which is only ~$ 5 and it comes with soup. This is my favorite thing to get here by far. It comes with a decent amount of beef and mushrooms. Another thing that is really good here is the Salt and Pepper Pork over rice. The bakery items are pretty good and I normally come here and get their Po-​Tarts from here, which is really good.
Pretty much for ~$ 5 for a good rice box, you can’t go wrong. The lady that works in the front is always friendly and nice as well.

Friendly, fast, and consistent, what more can you ask for? Oh yes, for it to be tasty, and it is, the name even says so.
I like my carbs so I’m a big fan of their fried rice dishes, I really need to try some of their other offerings the menu is a large one. The place is small not even a dozen of tables or so, it appears they have many regulars as some of the customers were just having tea and sitting around.
On summer days stopping in here for a smoothie with tapioca is a great option, or a milk tea. It has to be one of the last remaining places without a tip jar at the register. However, they do have a cash only sign up, so come prepared. Prices are very reasonable for the portions.

Visiting Chicago, my Chinese parents would have been ashamed of me if I didn’t stop to eat at Chinatown. My friends and I walked by a few restaurants before deciding on this one. I love little small family-​owned places like this, it reminds me of the down-​the-​street eateries that my mom used to take me as a child to go eat breakfast or lunch in Hong Kong. When we sat down, I noticed that most of the customers were elderly people eating congee or mothers with small children, so you know that the food must be good.
They have a wide selection of food in their menu such as dim sum, meat dishes, noodles, rice, congee, bakery goods, and boba drinks. I ordered the Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice, beef rice noodle rolls (Cheung Fun), and a milk tea with boba. The boba was ok, but the fried rice and noodle rolls were delicious. My friends, who aren’t use to Chinese restaurants like this, ordered some noodle and rice dishes with beef and they even agreed that it was good. The price is also pretty cheap, my order of three items came out to be less than $ 15 after tax.
Overall, coming to a small quaint place like this brought back cherished childhood memories and I would definitely visit again next time I’m in town, but I wished we had more places like this in Las Vegas.

My parents were craving some food from our homeland during our trip to Chicago so to Chinatown we go! We stopped by this place because they had my mom’s fave — Wonton Noodles!
The shop is mid-​sized, about 8 or 9 tables and it was sure bustling on a Monday! The prices here are dirt cheap and the food was delicious!
We ordered:
— Thousand Year Old Egg & Sliced Pork Congee (ugh, fave!!)
— Fish Congee
— Wonton Noodle Soup
— A plate of Rice Noodles w/​Shrimp & a plate of Rice Noodles with Beef. (Dimsum!)
Total cost — just about $ 20. The dimsum dishes were so fresh & the chunks of shrimp were super large. The rice noodle was absolutely perfect — soft and velvety! The congee’s are huuuuuuuumongo and amazing. I’m not a fan of wonton noodles so didn’t give those a try but my parents seemed to enjoy them! Yum, canto food is def the ish :)

This place has an extremely large menu and is just normal everyday Chinese. Service was nice and fast even while crowded, 99% of the customers and staff were speaking Chinese.
The Won Ton noodles were good for the price and the drink selection is quite large as well.
Just make sure you know that they do not accept credit cards, it’s cash only.

The prices for their food were definitely reasonable. But I didnt come here for their food, so I cant rate that. I did come here for a smoothie drink, and it only deserved three stars.
It was about 101 degrees today. I walked in desperately wanted something refreshing to drink to replenish. There was no line so I ordered my strawberry smoothie immediately. The girl took my money immediately. Then came the wait… in this restaurant… which had NO air conditioning.
The girl and the older woman were waitressing (which was getting water for people who had just entered and not yet ordered). After standing there for what seemed like forever, the older woman asked us if we wanted to order in or to go. I told her I already ordered my drink. (which really should not have taken more than 5 minutes to make!) The woman had to ask the girl what was going on because apparently the girl took my money and decided to do nothing about my order! When I finally got my smoothie, it looked more like watermelon than strawberry. This is what happens when I deviate from my usual place (Joy Yee). NEVER AGAIN!!!

I usually go to the one in chinatown square.
They have some really good Hong Kong style tea.
I like the one in chinatown square because they have booths and they know me and my friend so we can just sit and chat.
The food isn’t the best, but it’s good.
