In addition to private Pilates lessons, we offer small group classes in Pilates Mat, Pilates Circuit Training, and BOSU Core Training. In order to ensure the quality of your Pilates experience, small group classes are limited to 6 – 8 students. This teacher-​to-​student ratio allows for more personalized attention to detail, and yields a training experience similar to private instruction.

History

Established in 2003.

Although Stretch Your Limits is new to Sauganash, the business has been in operation since 2003. It’s owner, Kari P., spent the past 7 years operating out of another Pilates studio in the River North area where she focused on pre/​postnatal Pilates, BOSU® Core Training, and Pilates for Athletic Training. When Whole Body Fitness, a private training facility, opened in the Saugansh neighborhood in March, Kari was more than happy to jump on board!

Kari’s enthusiasm for fitness and wellness started in her mid-​twenties when she realized if she didn’t make lifestyle changes, Kari would be riddled with the same health issues that have plagued her family over the years, such as heart disease and cancer. She began participating in group exercise and Pilates mat classes at a local health club, and immediately felt her energy level increase and self esteem improve. After realizing how much just a little exercise greatly improves your quality of life, she quickly turned her new «hobby» into a life-​long career.



She received certifications in Pilates Mat, Standing Mat and Apparatus from the PhysicalMind Institute in 2003, and a Pre and Postnatal Pilates Specialist certification from The Center for Women’s Fitness. She also hold certifications in Group Fitness and Personal Training from the American Council on Exercise, and instructs for the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver CPR/​AED and First Aid courses.
