Most of the time I usually stick to my usual formula of evaluating convenience stores and that is the majority of them are owned by Indians and Arabs. This is the norm for all these places in downtown Chicago. This place is right across the street from where I go to school at and it’s the only one within a short walking distance from the building. My only issue is that a good majority of the items they sell in there are over priced and it’s cramped for space which poses a problem in terms of efficiency because the man who works the register in there is the only one who works there. So if there’s a crowd you would have to maneuver yourself around the store for the line to move and does not help if you’re in a hurry either. It’s OK if there’s no crowd, but overall it’s not really worth going there for anything major. As for parking there’s only street parking which many Chicagoans refuse to pay for, but this is more ideal for the pedestrian type.

I have a strange affinity for these little convenience stores, especially the independent ones. This one is right around the corner from where I’m currently working and I pop in here most every day. They have the usual array of convenience stuff. Milk for my coffee, salt and vinegar potato chips and other delicious salty snacks. Soft drinks and other beverages. This little store also has beer and wine for quick pick up before you dash over to Millennium Park for a free music event! Pop in and see my pal Omis!
