TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in wanting to exchange a pair of shoes that I had bought the night before. The gentleman assisting me accused me of wearing the shoes outside (which I hadn’t) and refused. I also got a ton of attitude, unnecessary rudeness, and multiple eye rolls. I took the shoes to the Wicker Park store and the helpful, professional, and sweet employees exchanged the shoes, no questions asked. I’m really happy with the new pair of shoes I got. Definitely shop in Wicker Park for great service!

my girl went here the other day around 530ish lookin for some shoes she saw online. very disappointed that they didn’t have her size in either shoe she wanted. moreover she was even more disappointed with the poor customer service she received. there were only 2 people workin at that time & the place was crowded with customers. they should know that after work people like to shop downtown so they really need to have more than 2 people available. we left & just decided to buy the shoes online since the actual store sucks.

I read the Unilocal reviews and thought hmm maybe it was just a one time bad experience? But these people were spot on. My goodness who the heck manages this place?! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I was shocked when I walked in there and saw 4 girls working-​4!!! and none of them said hello, asked if i needed help or really acknowledged that I was going back and forth trying to find something. I didn’t want to ask for help because 1. I was curious to see if they’d ever ask 2. After the treatment there I did not want to spend a dime supporting the location.
I love Steve Madden, buy it all the time, but it’s discouraging to walk into one of the few locations and see the same girl walk by me 4 times without saying a word, and see the other 3 just standing by the counter trying on sunglasses and watching TV!!! WTH is this for real?!? Reconsider your staff, quickly.

I would like to start off by saying this is not an isolated incident. I’ve been in this store several times and it’s the same awful customer service. The employees are quite selective in deciding who they want to assist, they snicker and make inappropriate comments about customers that come in, and it seems as if I have to wave the shoe in their faces before I get helped. I love Steve Madden & I would hate for the word «offensive» to become synonymous with the brand, but this is exactly where it’s headed. I will not be spending my money in this store anymore.

I entered the store through the front door on a Thursday evening to return one pair of shoes. I approached the counter where a rep was standing. She looked at me quizically, saying nothing, so I announced, «Hi, I just need to make a return?» The rep then exchanged a look with another rep who was standing behind me, looked down at her wrist watch, and then let out a laugh underneath her breath. Still unsure of what I had done wrong, I then asked, «Are you closed?» She said, «Yeah, but that’s ok…» I said, «No, that’s fine,» and exited out the back door. Turns out they closed at 8:00 p.m., and it was now 8:05. You know, if a business is done servicing customers for the day, usually there is some indication, such as the door being locked. There were several attendants unwrapping and stocking shoes, so clearly no one was going to be leaving right that moment. I would have even respected someone telling me directly, «I’m sorry, but we’ve actually already closed for the evening.» Or, if it truly was «alright,» then someone could have just helped me with the return, as a I had no intention to shop around. I really don’t appreciate the passive-​aggressive dramatics designed to make me feel stupid. If you really are closed the the point that helping one last guest is going to be so deeply anguishing for you, then perhaps you are the stupid one for not locking your doors at 8:00 p.m. sharp.

I have come here quite often over the past 2 years
The people here are always willing to help and assist you in any way.
The ladies here always take care of me when I come and thats pretty often.
Great people, great service, good shoes
