He is a great magician! He is very friendly, pleasant, and knows his trade. I will totally see him perform again. The tricks that he performed amazed me and my group of friends. We were also amazed on how he memorized the names of the whole group so quick.

About a year ago I was out on a date with a girl I had met just two days previous. We ran into Stephen when he was performing magic tricks at TheAbbey Pub. We had such an incredible time, and Stephen was so charismatic and engaging, that when I decided I was going to propose to that same woman, I knew he had to be involved. A year later, I gave him a call and he made sure to be available when I needed him.
I knew what I wanted in a magic trick for the actual proposal (to have him do a trick that involved me), and he had the best ideas. He even went above and beyond what I was hoping for in having a friend who is a photographer be there to take pictures. They were both super cool about everything, and they acted as if they were taking promotional shots for his website. She completely fell for it, and even recognized Stephen from a year prior. She hasn’t stopped talking about it since, and Stephen couldn’t have been more accommodating in setting everything up and making sure it was executed flawlessly.
To anyone needing an entertainer at their events, look no further. He is great both in crowds and in small groups, and definitely knows how to work a crowd. He keeps things light, but not cheesy, and everyone just seems to have a great time.

Stephen J. Hanthorn performed at The Cornservatory for an improv variety show I hosted called Caleb Crush back in February 2015 and he was absolutely fantastic. He really engaged the crowd and wowed us with great tricks and appropriate banter. He was extremely professional and was dressed to impress. My friends and I saw this magic man a while back while drinking at the Abbey. He had some great tricks, but the one that especially wowed us, was this fork bending trick. I have never seen something like it before! If you’re near the Abbey, drop by and you’ll be impressed!

My husband and I were at the Abby Pub on a Friday night and had no idea there was a magician there, but we were beyond impressed by Stephen! He was not in-​your-​face like some entertainers can be. He was very polite, had great people skills, and his tricks were incredible– we were laughing so hard, mystified, and had so much fun interacting with him! If you are looking for a talented entertainer, Stephen is your man!

Saw Stephen with a group of friends based on a recommendation. A great night. My college roommate was a magician so I have seen a lot of this stuff before. With that said, Stephen blew me away. Great personality, great dresser (vest and tie) and great show. I highly recommend the show. Just a terrific night of entertainment.

So imagine this: you’re hanging out with a few friends, pounding back a few brews and maybe splitting a plate of nachos, and up strolls this dude sporting a sharp little vest and a shiny pocket watch. He asks if he can see your phone, and there the fun starts. Over the next five minutes, you’ll find yourself laughing at least as many times as you find yourself saying, «That was so cool!»
OK, I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for sleight of hand, so maybe I’m biased, but I don’t think there could be anything better than going out for a beer and getting tableside entertainment from a magician, especially one as smooth as Stephen. I had the good fortune of seeing him at work on a Friday night at the Abbey, and needless to say, it was amazing. Not only is he a really good magician, he’s just an all-​around great entertainer – I had almost as much fun watching him work the room as I did watching the magic tricks themselves. I can’t say enough about how awesome this guy is – do yourself a favor and head down to the Abbey to see him yourself.
