«As a kid I earned money by doing finished carpentry work in rehab projects for my Aunt. The tragic events of 9⁄11 and its effects on the economy presented an opportunity to pursue a career in Real Estate Investment. Prior to Real Estate, I worked as an engineer/​project manager for Tellabs. While studying at Northwestern, I learned how to problem solve and write efficient algorithms in Computer Engineering.

Today I incorporate those skills and thought processes while serving clients as a consultant. This job is very gratifying when I can share in the process of bringing a client’s vision into reality.»

I will only use Hasani whenever I am dealing with any type of real estate purchase. With my first real estate purchase Hasani was not my agent directly, but he did mentor and advise my agent on negotiating the real estate deal and securing the loan. I was having trouble with securing the loan because of the ratio of owners in the condo unit, he instructed my agent as well as me on what measures I needed to take to ensure I get my loan. He played a vital role in my first purchase and without his help I am not sure if the deal would have gone through. For my second purchase, he was consistent, he made himself available at all times, and he walked my husband and me through every process and was very detailed on how things are handled when purchasing a home. Hasani has great negotiating skills and we ended up getting a great deal on our home. Hasani is always available for any questions, and even though he is extremely busy he never made us feel like he didn’t have time to respond to our needs or concerns. He loves educating his clients and colleagues on the real estate market and he makes sure you are informed on the best methods to take when buying, selling or renting your properties. He is always professional and enthusiastic and his passion for real estate and development shows in his everyday actions

Hasani Steele was the listing agent for the property that I purchased. While he was very professional during my interactions with him, I soon found that some of the things he stated while presenting the property during the open house and follow up interactions were in conflict with what the developer intended/​was actually agreeing to do. This came off as unprofessional/​dishonest to me, especially since he is the regular listing agent for this developer and should know what is fully accurate. It seems he was most interested in saying what was best to sell the properties, as opposed to what actually was the complete reality with the property.
Additionally, the developer that he regularly works with as the listing agent has extremely poor business practices. They are very responsive until you close, and then it becomes darned near impossible to get in contact with them/​get them to complete items from punchlists, etc. Given that Hasani works with this same developer on every one of their projects, he is well aware of the problems that many buyers have with them, yet he continues to represent them. I am completely unsurprised by the previous reviewer who stated that he was very unprofessional in call backs, etc., as that is the same m.o. as the developer he works with.
on a positive note, Hasani did give a few good tips for negotiating with the developer to my real estate agent, so I do want to be sure to note that. However, the conflicting information and the continuous representation of a developer with issues leaves me to not rate him highly.
So in the future, I’ll look for properties listed by someone else.

I used him as a buyer and I was extremely disappointed with Hasani Steele’s service.
He was very engaged early in the buying process then he virtually disappeared after we entered in a contract. There was an extreme delay in securing the appraisal and closing date and we received conflicting information from his office, loan officer, and seller regarding what was happening. So we thought our agent would help clear up the confusion and we made multiple unsuccesful attempts to contact him via email, phone, and text to get more information and get some answers.
He was totally unresponsive and when we finally spoke to him, he was accusatory towards us and that we were looking for a reason to get out the contract. His response baffled us because it did not make sense that we would aggresively seek his counsel if we were not interested in the property. I was personally very irate because I could not fathom a scenario where an unresponsive agent would so brazenly try to flip his lack of communication on us and I was willing to seek another agent, however, we decided to keep him in order to not further complicate the buying process.
We handled his job duties and engaged directly with seller (Hasani was a dual agent and per the seller not communicative as well, but i will allow them to provide their own opinion of his services). In the end, we bought the property and we absolutely LOVE it. However our experience with Hasani was seriously lacking and I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone to use him at all.

I highly recommend Hasani and his group to anyone. Although, I am in the early stages of my search, he has provided me so much useful advice that he makes the home buying search easy. I would recommend the Group to anyone interested in buying real estate.

I happened to find Hasani Steele by blind luck, when we met for a showing at one of his properties in January. Having Mr. Steele as my agent was not only a positive experience but a god-​send, as the rest of my home purchasing experience was anything but. Mr. Steele went way above and beyond to explain the process, get me the best property at the best price, and work with my lender and attorney, who were extremely difficult to say the least, to close the sale. Throughout the process, Mr. Steele’s knowledge and professionalism were the only two things I could count on. If asked by a relative, friend, or University of Chicago colleague, I would gladly recommend Mr. Steele and his stellar staff without hesitation. There are not enough accolades that I could possibly heap on Hasani, Jennifer and Annie that could properly express the gratitude and respect I have for everything they did for my family and me. The best I can do is to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Steele and his staff for their endless patience, generosity with their time, and for all of their excellent advice and insight which, by the way, was always on point.
