Star Roofing and Construction

Brian replaced the roof on my garage 5 years ago. He & his crew did a fine job.
This fall the roof on my house was damaged. I asked him to come over with the insurance adjuster, to answer questions, etc. He refused my request, complaining that «insurance companies never give any money».
Contrary to Brian’s assertion, the insurance company agreed to pay for a new tear-​off roof + pay for an area of siding that was also damaged.
Check in hand, I asked Brian to quote the new roof. He gave me a quote, but didn’t include the siding in the quote. I called to ask him about the cost of the siding repair, and told him that I have the check from the insurance company in the amount of his quote (minus the siding). He yelled at me, saying the insurance companies don’t want to pay for anything extra, he can’t work for free, etc. It was a strange and aggressive response to a simple question.
I am now looking for another (less volatile) roofer to do the job.

I used Star Roofing and Construction for my roof. It was a shingle roof. Start date had to be pushed back a few days because of the rainy weather, but that wasn’t their fault. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and professionalism. I would recommend Star Roofing and Construction to my friends and family.

Had an appointment for an estimate — called John twice to confirm, said he «was with a client and would call back» and never did. I called 10 mins after he didn’t show up to the appointment, and he said, «Uh, yeah, uh, what time is our appointment? I’m with a client and I’ll call you back.» Shockingly, he didn’t…and didn’t show up. I do not understand how this company exists.

We used Star Roofing last year. They gave us a good price. They showed up on time with all the right equipment and plenty of workers and got the job done correctly. Flat roof on the building big patch + removal, garage roof including removal of objects and patching, Metal flashing and drip edge (bending and installation). There were no charges for «extras». Thus far all work is solid. We will use them again. (hopefully not for a little while).

Horrible experience. They agreed to give an estimate the day before. An hour before the appointment they called to tell me it would be $ 200 because it was for the purpose of investigating a house we had a contract on. I can only imagine what other fees they charge. Besides that they were rude. Avoid.
