Sprout Fitness specializes in pre and postnatal group fitness classes and one-​on-​one personal training. All trainers are pre and post natal certified.

Pre and Post Natal Boot Camp: We like to think of it as personal training in a small group setting. Learn safe and challenging core, strength, and cardio exercises tailored to your ability level. Classes held at Hi Fi Personal Fitness Tuesdays at 6:00pm and Saturdays at 10:00am. Class is 55 minutes. $ 2 lot or street parking.

Stroller Boot Camp: We encourage Pre & Post Natal women to join us. Post Natal Women learn safe exercises that will help build back your core and pelvic floor muscles, lose the baby weight, build muscles to carry your little one, and have fun while meeting other moms. Pre Natal women learn safe exercises that help them prepare for the big event. Babies and children are always welcome. Class is 55 minutes. Classes are 1:00pm on Mondays at Wrightwood Park (corner of Ashland & Wrightwood).

History

Established in 2008.

Sprout started in the summer of 2008, right after Kim’s son Ben was born. Both founders Kim and Ron felt there was a need for pre and post natal strength and core classes in Chicago. Kim found in her own pregnancy, that there seemed to be a lot of pre natal yoga classes but no group classes that offered weight training, cardio, and core training in Chicago. Kim and Ron had both trained numerous clients through their pregnancies and felt it would be such an amazing bonding experience and a great way for their clients to save money on personal training, if they could get a group of pre /​post natal women together in a classroom setting. Because Kim and Ron were both juggling day jobs and now motherhood for Kim, they knew they would need a partner to get things started. So together in the fall of 2008, they offered their first Sprout Pre /​Post Natal Bootcamp class one evening a week. Today they offer classes 3 days a week and hope to expand it to more.

Business Owner

Kim and Ron have a combined 15 years of fitness experience. Kim is the founder of Think Fitness and Ron is the founder of Fit With Krit. They joined forces in 2008 to start Sprout Fitness to help women stay fit through pregnancy, recover faster, build muscle for labor and deliver, and safely rebuild pelvic floor muscles. Kim has one son, Ben and another baby on the way! She earned her degree in ’05 from the National Personal Training Institute and her certifications include National Sports and Conditioning Association — PT, Healthy Mom’s Prenatal Instructor, and Total Control Instructor. Ron is certified through the International Sports and Science Association — PT and Pre/​Postnatal Training. He has attended seminars on: High Performance Core Conditioning, Lower Back, Speed and Quickness, Kickboxing, Seniors, Swiss Ball Training, Water Fitness, and Pilates.
