History

Established in 1980.

Owner Frank La Fronza coifs a thick portfolio of movers and shakers. La Fronza says he has never advertised; his business comes by word of mouth. So why do the city’s power brokers choose him to style their anointed heads? «Because hey know what they say in the chair, stays in the chair,» says the barber. (The salon does women’s hair, too. «One lady asked me if I knew anyone who could break her husband’s legs,» recalls La Fronza. He didn’t.)

Specialists in men’s hairstyling by experienced Master Barbers. Great haircuts for both men and women. Comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The barbers and beauticians have been working together for 25+ years! Many clients have been regulars for over 30 years! Feels like a big family! A happy fun place with excellent services. A full service salon in every way.

This review is for Azam. I have been going to her for about a year now to get my eyebrows shaped and tinted, and she’s great! I have very light, blonde brows so I get them tinted to give my face a little more definition (especially in photos). Azam does a great job every time and is always willing to make adjustments to make sure I leave happy. I really appreciate that she’s very flexible when it comes to scheduling and oftentimes will fit me in even on short notice or on a busy day.

Azam just tinted and threaded my eyebrows. I arrived stressed and disheveled and left looking great! I appreciated the soothing music in the back room as well. Great location close to my work. Difficult to find in the pedway (especially today since the pedway was partially closed) but I called ahead and they helped me to find it. Good customer service! Azam is awesome!

Highly recommend Spa Di La Fronza for massage. We have been going to Lilly and Lana for massages over the past 6 years during our annual Chicago trip. They give the best massages I have ever had — hands down (no pun intended). Massages are thorough and intuitive. Rates are very reasonable.

Lana truly is one of the best. She’s been my massage therapist for months now. Clearly, she has a lot of experience which shows since she senses what my muscles need. I always leave feeling lighter and brighter, which is really what a session with Lana is all about.
Rates are reasonable as well, so Lana’s work is a part of my monthly budget.

Always when traveling to different places in the USA I’ll go for a pedicure. Must say this is one of the best ever had. Ask for Harriet. She works on your feet till you don’t feel any pain anymore. Very precise and value for money. It might not be the cheapest possible pedicure but as mentioned before, it’s worth every dollar! Would go here any time again if in town.

I came here for a massage after running the Chicago Marathon and WOW, it hurt so good. Lana was outstanding and knew every point in my body that needed to be worked on! I can’t say enough good things about her and the work she does. It’s so refreshing to find a masseuse that genuinely cares about her customers as well as her work. Not only did she give the best deep tissue massage, she also aligned my back — which felt AWESOME. I will definitely be back :) THANKS LANA!

Nena has been my aesthetician for well over a decade and she is by far, hands down, the best in Chicago.
I don’t trust anyone else to go near my eyebrows… I learned that lesson REAL quick when I was away at undergrad. And her facials are magic.
I know she has clients travel from all over the country to see her for their skincare needs. She carries very specialized brands of skin care products, while expensive (but then again, what good skincare products aren’t?) are worth the dinero. I had some serious blotchy skin on my face from sun exposure and just the city elements, and the products she recommended really evened everything out. I can’t live without the moisturizer she has!
If you need magic done on your face, I’d recommend making a special trip to the Hyatt to see Nena!

Nena has magical hands, she saved my wedding day with her knowledge and products. My face has been peeling and had red spots for 8 years, I went to doctors, specialists, aestheticians, and they all failed me, UNTIL I had the pleasure of meeting Nena. I travel from Oklahoma City to have her do y facials. YES she is that amazing and worth the trip! My sister referred me to Nena and I am forever grateful for the connection. You will have the most relaxing experience And your screen will be glowing, radiant, and clean. My pores looks phenomenal, so small! I got y facial a week ago and it looks like I just walked out of my facial hour. :)

Nena is truly a miracle worker! I have been going to Nena since I moved to Chicago in 2008. At the time I traveled weekly for work and the stress of my lifestyle had taken a toll on my skin. Nena has helped me clear up my skin for good, develop a low maintenance routine to maintain it, and slowing introduced me to products and services to prevent future damage and aging. NENA IS AMAZING!
I have been going to Nena for facials at Spa di La Fronza for past 2 years and she is by far the BEST aesthetician Ive ever been too.
Nena has years of experience and a wealth of knowledge. She knows exactly what your skin needs so that it will look flawless. Nena takes her time and is very thorough… She literally extracts every nook, cranny, bump on my face so that I look like I have flawless skin.
I had these tiny bumps on my face, milia for years and went to lot of dermatologists and aestheticians trying to get rid of them with no success, but afer seeing Nena they are all gone! she is better at taking care of my skin than my own dermatologist! She is the best kept secret in downtown chicago… and I dont want to share her as she is that amazing! If i could given ten stars, I would!

I stopped by while staying at the Hyatt to get a manicure. Maria took me right back. She was great! She was extremely detailed with my «no chip» manicure and when she found out I wanted a massage, recommended that I also stop by after my massage the following day for a second top coat to assure my manicure would last. When I stopped in the next day (early I might add as I mixed up the time), she took me right back and when she heard I was walking into the city afterwards, offered me her scarf and gloves if I didn’t have any — WHAT SERVICE!!!
My massage with Lana was equally amazing, she knew exactly what I needed being a weary traveler, conference attendee! Not a lot of talking, but just the right amount of pressure, warmth and sound (music) in the background for a soothing experience!

Just received my second massage from Lana and it was just as amazing as the first.
As a massage practitioner myself, I’ll admit that I’m pretty finicky.
Lana knew exactly what to do. Her hands, head, and heart clearly direct her to the areas and tension that need particular focus.
I wish I lived in Chicago so that I’d be able to receive regular massages from her but unfortunately it’ll have to be only when I’m visiting.

This review is for eyebrow waxing/​shaping by Azam. I formerly was going to Nordstrom’s Anastasia eyebrow counter and spending $ 35 a pop (YIKES!). But I had enough of their high prices and inability to stay on schedule, so set out to find another good option. I saw a lot of reviews mentioning how great she was, however some were dating all the way back to ’09. I thought, «She can’t possibly still work here.» Well, she does. And yes, Azam is amazing.
Don’t let the looks of this salon scare you away (you’ll know what I mean when you arrive). Because at $ 12 all-​in, I was done with my brows in under 5 minutes. The wax she uses was very gentle and I was extremely pleased with the experience.
