South Loop Immediate Care

Let this be my official request: if I need to go to the E.R., please don’t take me there, take me here!!!
The staff is kind, compassionate and efficient. (I actually might die waiting around to see a doctor in the E.R.- oh how I detest the inefficiency of the E.R.)
Ive been here twice (once for a car accident, once for a severe ankle sprain) and saw Dr. Khan both times. He was extremely caring and communicated very well on what I needed to do moving forward for pain management and getting back to my fully healed self. I was very impressed that he actually took time to help me hop over to a medical supply store next door to get my boot for my ankle with my husband on the ankle sprain visit.
IMHO it can be VERY difficult at times to find QUALITY medical care nowadays. Dr. Khan and his staff proved to me twice now that their effiency and compassion makes them one of the best I have seen in the city for medical care.

I go here for primary care. The doctors here are professional and I’ve always been treated quickly. When I broke a bone, they took me from diagnosis, to X-​ray, to one-​on-​one discussion/​analysis of X-​ray while we both looked at it on a monitor, to prescription/​care instructions all within a half hour. No multiple-​appointments, referrals to other departments, etc. Just smooth from start to finish.

I came here after having an eye allergy related infection. I tried everything over the counter with no results. My doctor recently moved out of state and had no idea where to turn to in such short notice. I looked on Unilocal and came across this place. I decided to give it a shot and was super glad i did. There were maybe four people in front of me when I entered but was seen within a half hour. I received the treatment I needed and with a prescription eye drop my eyes were back to normal the next day. The doctors are very professional and take great care in treating your issues. I recently returned for a cough/​cold that was going on for over a week. I was anticipating a wait but when I walked in there was no one waiting. I was out of there within fifteen minutes. I got my prescription for a sinus infection and walked to the pharmacy down the street to have it filled. I am feeling so much better. I truly love how efficient this office is and that they don’t sacrifice great care. I love that I can walk in here for minor health concerns and don’t have to wait very long, super convenient.

I was referred here by a friend in the neighborhood. I went in to get a flu shot and found them very easy and efficient to work with. Dr. Khan was awesome. He was really down to earth and easy to talk to and all around awesome. The easy experience with the doctor and the office staff put me in mind of how it was when I was a kid when we used to go to the family doctor back in the day. It was just an overall pleasant experience. There was no hassle and I felt like the doctor and the staff cared. I definitely recommend them.

This is my first Unilocal review ever… I went here this morning and it is A HUGE DEAL for me to see any other doctor outside my gynecologist that treats me for anything and everything I may need. I moved to the city and my gyno is no where near here. Anyway I arrived and I thought it was cool because what appeared to be other doctors were being trained by the main doctor and everyone seemed really interested in what he had to say which means they respect him. Next I was given a state of the art iPad type board that allowed me to check myself in. Unless you’re a Neanderthal you will be able to figure this out. I thought it was cool because I believe in the long run it allows the doctors and nurses to spend more time on the patients. It makes your visit faster if there’s a wait. The place was small but that’s okay because it was much more personal. The room was personal as well that I was seen in. Not your typical dr office set up. Everyone was really nice and seemed aware and concerned for my visit. This made a huge difference considering anywhere else I’ve gone it’s not only like a cattle call/​assembly line, atmosphere but it’s also very surface generic concern. I also felt all my issues were met and addressed during my visit and I wasn’t made to feel like I could only talk about one issue which is how most offices play out. I feel a good Dr isn’t in the mind set of quantity over quality for visits and instead truly takes care of you. Only a dick head would rush you out and put a dollar sign on every medical issue. as in schedule another visit/​come back and pay me in order to be heard for this other issue of concern. If you’re there you should be treated for whatever you need. It will keep people loyal and coming back in the long run. In the end one of the Dr’s in training said I hope you feel better. That was also very nice and made me feel respected and cared for. I appreciated the facility, the staff, and the doctor. Thank you.

I was overall very pleased with the care I received from South Loop Immediate Care that has doctors on staff which is not the case for Walgreen’s Health Care Clinics. I would have been on the road to recovery for a nagging cough 2 weeks earlier if I had skipped Walgreens and had gone directly to this facility. I am employed full-​time and have excellent health insurance but my regular doctor is often booked so Urgent Care is a useful alternative. I will definitely return to South Loop Immediate Care if needed in the future. The pharmacy next door, Well Future was efficient and friendly and they accepted my prescription insurance. I hope they both stay in the neighborhood for a long time so that I can continue to use both of their services.

The doctors here don’t mess around. I’ve been here quite a few times. A few years back I was hit by an SUV while crossing the street. Multiple fractures in my hip and pelvis area including a bulging disk. I randomly get pain so bad I can’t even get out of bed.
The 2 doctors that have helped me on 3 occasions have been extremely caring and thoughtful and wanted to make sure I could get out of bed and try to live a normal life with this pain. I never have to wait more than 5 minutes and they’re always straight to the point.
Today I went in to get records for a lawsuit, and the doctor sat there with me and made sure everything was right and we even shared some laughs while he put all my records together.
I appreciate this immediate care so much! Also it’s pretty convenient that the neighborhood pharmacy is a few steps away as well.

Being sick for 12 days is no fun as well as going to the doctor. BUT I had a very nice experience here. Instead of filling out all those papers about yourself and your insurance, it is all done on a tablet. You swipe your credit card for your co-​pay at the end. Both the nurse and Dr. Levites were nice. I was given a thorough explanation and fast too! I think of all the hours I have spent in waiting rooms but not here! I also like the suggestion to go to the pharmacy 2 doors down… thats my next review!

For someone like me, going to see a doctor can be a daunting almost terrifying experience. However I would say that the Southloop Immediate Care is pretty phenomenal and quick. When you walk into the clinic you are given a computer pad to fill out your information which is a very organized way to get all of your info. As soon as you are done, the assistants take the pad and the patients are taken into a room very quickly.
The rooms are very comfortable and have a different setup than most clinics however I would consider this a positive because the patients feel a lot more comfortable and this does not give that initial white coat anxiety which raises your blood pressure. The vitals are taken first and a preliminary assessment is done. The good thing is everything is automatic so the blood pressure, the temperature and the pulse are accurate and quick-​super techsavvy!
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Khan and have to say that he really takes the time to get to know his patients and makes sure that all concerns are addressed. There have been a few urgent cares that say that they only look at one complaint at a time however Dr. Khan really takes the time to listen. He is knowledgeable and empathetic! Overall, I would definitely recommend this urgent care to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

Dr. Khan is very thorough and personable. Being sick really puts a dent in your life. This immediate care is like visiting the Doctor’s office 30 years ago. The professionals here actually listen. I don’t think you will be disappointed by going here. It’s 200x better than going to a hospital’s emergency room for your flu/​UTI.

I have gone to South Loop several times when my primary physician couldn’t see me immediately.
The office is conveniently located in the South Loop area. It’s easy to get taxi’s in the area because they come rather frequently (and with Über, I’m sure the wait time is really really low).
Dr. Kahn is wonderful and really seems to care. He took his time, listened to every complaint, made me feel comfortable. After he diagnosed the problem, he gave me the proper medication and even showed me some exercises and recommended other things which could be
help me in the future.
I used him another time, asked me several questions, and diagnosed the problem quickly.
I wish he could be my primary care physician… he seems to really care about the patient and not checking the clock so much so he can make sure you’re okay.
He has doctor’s interning there so you will be asked some questions a few times, but each time I’ve gone there, they have been great. He asks if it’s okay for them to be in the room or to ask you a few questions before he sees you.
Great bedside manner.

Had a great experience here. They have very efficient iPad like devices to collect all of your information. I was seen within 15 minutes and the doctor did a thorough job. He spent enough time with me and got to the point (writing me an antibiotic prescription for a bad sore throat) and didn’t waste my time.

My husband and I were at the South Loop Immediate Care on multiple occasions these last few weeks. We were seen by Dr. Khan and Dr. Levites — both fabulous! It’s so amazing and comforting to have them so close and available to help. A bonus is that the correspondence over email is always very quick. Who does that?! My husband and I already agreed that if we move out of this neighborhood, we would still return to South Loop Immediate Care.

I had brought my mother here with a sciatica nerve issue and Dr. Khan was very responsive and accommodating to her condition. He prescribed two pain medications and one anti-​inflammation drug. This was a little over a month ago and my mother’s condition improved. However, because most of her pain came back, today I called the clinic to request the doctor to call in the anti-​inflammation prescription to my pharmacy. I was rudely told by a receptionist that «we do not call in prescriptions»!!! What doctor’s office DOES NOT call in prescriptions! When I asked to talk to the doctor, I was told the doctor wasn’t in today.
Even though I was impressed with the clinic in the past, I am disappointed and even angry at the rudeness of the receptionist. I was not given a reason why they didn’t call in prescriptions. I understand if these were addictive drugs (and they might be) but this prescription is for a one-​a-​day pill for 4 days only.
I am not sure I will visit them again.

I was feeling like death and went here and they got me in immediately. They had great offices with comfortable chairs that didn’t make it feel clinic like at all. The nurse and doctors were great and diagnosed me quickly and got me out! Exactly what I needed. I do have one small compliant, they have you check in and fill all your info on an iPad which I just felt took forever, but then I again I was feeling like death at the time and walking 5 feet was painful for me. All in all, if needed I would definitely visit again

I have lived in the South Loop for 5 years and always used South Loop Urgent Care as my Primary doctors office. It is convenient to stop by on my way to and from home without an appointment and the wait time are reasonable if there is a wait at all.
Dr. Kahn is awesome, the listens with concern to your issues and will work with you in trying to determine the best treatment plan as far as aggressive vs conservative. I have been here for a variety of different reasons and leave feeling like they really care each time.
I also really like the tablet that you input your information on. So much easier and quicker than dictating to a person behind the counter.

Dr Levites was great! It was my first time at SLIC and everything was very smooth. I did make an appointment for 9:30am (they open at 9:30am) and did have to wait outside for a few minutes but that was my own fault for being early. Like others have said, you go in, fill out some digital forms on their tablet and you’re first seen by a (very nice) med student then the doctor himself. Turns out I had a sinus infection and was prescribed some antibiotics. It’s a smallish office but very nice and inviting.
I would return here. Very helpful and friendly staff. Doesn’t hurt that it’s 2 blocks from me!

After a cold turned into a wheeze turned into not being able to walk up half a flight of stairs without needing my asthma inhaler I decided to give this immediate care business a try. I checked out the reviews on here and made the leap – or drive really – to South Loop Immediate Care.
Soooo glad I did. I was seen within 10 minutes, (and there were 2 people in front of me!), did a brief interview/​blood pressure check that you usually get at the doctor and before long saw the doc himself who prescribed a course of antibiotics and steroids to help with my respiratory infection. I was in and out in 30 minutes. More importantly, I recovered nicely.
Why do I like it so much? No wait. If I make an appointment with my regular doctor (which I tried, but was told they could squeeze me in the next week), I still wait longer than I did here. Also, they have tablets for you to enter your data, instead of killing trees and scribbling all your junk down on paper. BRILLIANT. Love that they utilize technology to make things easier.
Highly recommend this. Love my regular doc when I have the luxury of waiting weeks to see her and taking an afternoon off work knowing it will be a 30 – 45 minute wait just to get into the exam room so that she can scold me for not taking vitamins or exercising enough or drinking enough water.. .
Next time I get sick though? I know where to go.

I have been dreading going to the doctor ever since I got a PPO at work. Why, you may ask? Well because I’m an idiot and thought it meant I would be spending an arm and a leg every time I went. Duh, me. After Tweeting about it someone made me realize I’d only pay co-​pay which is $ 20. Again, duh me! They had a lot of last minute appointments on zocdoc and when I called they said to just come on in.
When I came in they handed me a really cool computer to register for the first time. The cool thing is that you can even pay your co-​pay on there. Very nice and easy. A med student talked to me first and then the doctor came in. We talked a bit and realized after checking me out I had a sinus infection. Gross! But so happy I get meds so I can feel better soon. Great experience. Super quick and easy!
My only issue is that I totally would have preferred more of a sterile environment. I sat in a room with a leather chair and a small table. Kinda odd. Not very doctor office like. I’m quite the germ phobe so I would have enjoyed a nice sterile sheet to sit on haha.
