I had this semi-​antique industrial Germany cover stitch machine (not singer brand), which I need a tune up as well as putting the threads where it suppose to be (since is a special machine). Knowing the conditions and the brand of the machine, I was expecting to have a hard time to find the right people to fix my machine.
Anyway, this shop pops out as I google for sewing machine repairing, I figure I might as well give it a try. As I walk in, the staffs were super helpful and so as the owner of the shop Mike. Mike walked me through the process of repairing, and the staff took my machine in and gave me the evaluate. I was expecting the wait time to be more than a week. A few days later, they call me back and informs me that the machine is ready to be pick up. Conditions of the machine are just amazing after repaired. The mechanic who fix my machine don’t know much English, but he try to show me what he did and where the threads should be. Not only the service was fast, the price was absolutely reasonable.

They offer cheap sewing classes (60 dollars for 6 weeks of 2 hour courses) that are paced to your ability (Nancy is a wonder!), in addition to offering reasonable repairs on classic machines. In the front they sell well priced refurbished machines to supplement the many new models in the center of the store.

I stopped in here yesterday and purchased a sewing mechine. The employees were very helpful and let me know which machine would best suit my needs. They also offered me a free class so they could show me all my new machine could do. After buying my new sewing machine I went to JoAnn fabrics to pick up some supplies for my new project, low and behold my machine was there for double the price I payed.
This place is somewhere you should go to purchase a new machine, they don’t rip you off and they will help you pick out the best macine for your needs!

I like the way the service guy offered advice when I was re-​wiring the estate sale treasure that Her Majesty came home with. She likes their honesty. She took her fancy w/​lots-​a buttons electronic machine for service. It’s a top-​o-​the-​line machine & one of her few splurges. I know the company makes great chain saws & would expect the sewing machined to be top notch. They charged her for a relay instead of the whole board (how would we even know??). I’d be surprised if they didn’t offer classes or instruction. Good Business & worth patronizing.

When I was looking to get into sewing I didn’t realize how much I lucked out by finding Singer Factory Distributor! The staff is so nice and accommodating, they truly do care that you understand the machines you purchase from them, and are always helpful on the phone. Elida has taught me so much over this past year about sewing and serging, and she is wonderful to work with. I also had the pleasure of taking classes from Nancy and Arizona, there at the store, and it is all well worth it. Mike is a true gem, and so knowledgeable about the equipment and very personable. They have everything you want to cover for your sewing and serging needs, and even if you are a beginner like I was, they are so nice and their pricing is very fair. I ended up upgrading my Singer to a Viking about 4 – 5 months into learning how to sew, and like I said they are very accommodating and want to make sure you understand all parts of your machine.

Bought some equipment for work from here and Elida came out to help set up and demonstrate to some students as well as go over some basic construction. Wonderful shop, great selection of machines, and top notch service.

I always go here for my sewing machine repairs. They charge fair prices and have a fast turnaround (usually a couple of days, and they’ll apologize profusely if for some reason they can’t make that happen). Once I brought my machine by on December 30, thinking I’d be happy to get it back by the end of the first week of January, and the mechanic called to ask me if I’d like to pick it up by noon on New Year’s Eve. They also fixed my dinosaur of a serger, which I think is a feat certainly worthy of praise.
They have a good selection of machine attachments that go beyond quilting. I’m a garment sewer, so I’m annoyed when shops bill themselves as «sewing» but only cater to quilters. The staff is knowledgeable about what you need and always nice, even when the reason you’re bringing your machine in is that you set it in your back seat and jammed on the brakes at a stoplight like you failed 5^th grade physics.
I’ve never come out of here feeling like I had anything less than amazing customer service.

When I moved into my new apartment, the attachments for my Singer serger went missing. Of course, I didn’t realize the problem until 72 hours before I needed a project done. Emergency!
Specifically, I needed a spreader. For those playing at home, a spreader is a tiny metal bit about the size of my pinky nail. Yet, it’s so important that the serger can’t do half of its functions without it. Yikes! I was sent to the Singer Factory Distributor when JoAnn Fabrics couldn’t help. I was hesitant. I expected the Singer store to be like a car dealership– an overpriced monopoly over teeny, tiny metal doodads. Thankfully, I was wrong.
When I got to the store, a sweet woman immediately approached me. Two other employees were present– I will call them Teacher and Manager on Phone. They seemed very busy, but full of expertise; I’d like to take one of their classes someday.
The woman helping me could not find the spreader, though it was no fault of her own. The store’s massive inventory was well-​organized. She tried to get the attention of Manager on Phone, which was a difficult task, indeed. While we waited, she taught me some alternate techniques I could do with my machine, in case the part was unavailable. She also showed me a stretchy nylon thread I hadn’t used before. I appreciated the knowledge, and that I wasn’t left to wait in silence.
When Manager on Phone finally became Manager Off Phone, he was awesome. He was very respectful, and was quickly able to find what I needed in the back. The price was affordable, and I left satisfied.
My serger worked like a dream when I got home. I will definitely be making more frequent stops to the Singer Factory Distributor.

When I moved here, I bought a new Singer sewing machine and used it to sew one curtain seam. Since then, it has been in the the original packaging. I needed to sew something the other day and set it up. I checked my bobbin thread and couldn’t get my bobbin case back in. The instruction booklet did not include the step.
When I took it into Singer on Irving Park. They acted like something was broken and that my bobbin case being in the wrong position was an issue for the repair department. I left the machine with them for 3 days just to find out that they only cleaned and oiled it… to the tune of $ 59.
The woman chastised me (a current chemo patient) for not using it more often and offered to show me how to use the machine for $ 50. If nothing was wrong with my machine, why didn’t they offer that to begin with?!
If they had charged me $ 25 for cleaning, I would have signed up for classes with them. I just felt like I had been Chicago-​style grifted. It did not make me want to return to this place.
Very disappointed because the Singer shop is so closed to my house… I would have loved taking lessons there. Frustrated.

I brought in an old Singer machine I recently inherited from my Grandmother. They cleaned it, tuned it up, and replaced all the missing/​damaged parts for about $ 86. Definitely reasonable!
I also took the opportunity to sign up for a sewing class while I was there. Since I am an absolute beginner, the lady recommended I take the upcoming «Crazy Strip Quilt» class just to learn some basics and get used to using the machine. My first class was yesterday and I really REALLY enjoyed it! The staff is so helpful and they answered all my questions. I’m excited to sign up for more classes in the future!
This place is a real gem!

Sewing machine miracle workers!
Staff was so helpful and friendly, assisting in finding a (cheap) replacement part for my old Kenmore sewing machine. They also stocked me up with the right needles, thread & bobbins so I’m ready to roll (sew).
The store is quite large, lined with tables of machines (for classes, demos), rows and rainbows of thread, and miscellaneous accessories/​parts.
They offer lots of sewing classes for those interested in learning, and they can also service old machines for regular maintenance and unique problems. These types of specialized (friendly) stores are few and far between!

I first found this store because my Singer sewing machine needed a tune up. The price for a tune up was a little shocking, but after some checking I think it’s fair, something like $ 74, which should be done annually, or bi-​annually depending on usage. When my old machine needed almost as much in repairs as a new one I purchased a new one cheaper than anything I found online.
But the real gem here is the staff and the sewing lessons. If you buy a new machine they will give you an hour get-​acquainted lesson on your machine and then additional sessions as you need them.
They also offer sewing lessons, the best and most reasonably priced I’ve ever heard of. They offer 6 2-​hour lessons for $ 60. That’s $ 5 an hour and the lessons are pretty much semi-​private. Nancy, the teacher is quirky but trained in design and will teach you the old fashioned way to do it yourself on patterns and techniques. If you are an absolute beginner sewer she will teach you how to use a machine and how to pick patterns and measure and cut and sew. If you have some experience she will take you from there. The first pattern is one of her suggestion, but after that you choose your project, from clothing to home décor, she will help you when you get stuck and teach you how to do it. If you take more sessions you just keep bringing your projects in and she will help you as you go along. One of the most valuable things she teaches is how to customize and tailor clothes for your body type.
I am on my second set of lessons and want to go back for more! Compared to lessons at other places, I will not name, this is absolutely the best value and the best for continuing education. It’s not trendy or in a cool neighborhood but it’s the real deal.

We took our 1980’s vintage Singer sewing machine here on a Wednesday for a major problem. The machine was not advancing and made an awful grinding noise. Thursday we were called that technician found a portion of a broken needle in the lower bobbin area. The machine was ready for pickup on Monday. The total for parts $ 17 with labor and tuneup $ 90 for a total of $ 108 with tax. I would highly recommend this shop for Singer and others they support.

I had my sewing machine repaired here a few years ago. The repair was done on time and for a very reasonable price.
