You get off the elevator on 95 and are greeted with an AMAZING view of Lake Michigan(but that view is for the Signature Room for more formal dining). My hotel concierge told me if you’re looking to splurge on a meal, go to the Signature Room, if you just want a casual meal and something to drink, go to the Lounge, and that I did. If you were planning to go to the 360 Observation Deck, use your entrance fee money and combine it with lunch, drinks or dinner at the Signature Lounge. When you walk in, try to get a seat on the left corner of the room. Great view of the city and the lake. To the right, you still get those views, but you want to be looking downtown. Drinks are overpriced in my opinion but worth it for the view. Had a yummy turkey sandwich that came with a side of potato chips.

The signature room is a great way to get a great view and a drink all at once. It does not cost anything to go up but you pay quite a bit for drinks/food which are not the best of qualities. Really, you are paying for the view. We went late at night and got seated right by a window, so our view was excellent. However, for others seated elsewhere, you get a good view as well but you are a bit far. They do not let you move to a closer table(we saw many try) so you might not get the best seat in the house. If this is your plan, then you might be better off at the 360 where you can move around. If you want to get a view, relax, and a drink, this is your place. And it is true. Best view is in the ladies’ restroom.

When I lived in Chicago, I would always take visitors to the Signature Lounge, and over the holidays, we made a trip there to soak in the city. Around the holidays and in the summer, there is a higher influx of people visiting the city, so you will find a line. It moves rather quickly, but you will have to wait. You definitely go to to Signature Lounge for the views, not for the drinks or food. It is a deal if you think about paying $ 25 to go up in either the observatory at the Sears Tower or the Hancock Building. You enjoy the amazing views while enjoying a slightly overpriced drink. If you are lady, be sure to check out the views from the women’s rest room because they are pretty great!

* the hostess will tell you to stand at the ropes where you wait for the elevator to take you up to the lounge. Came here around 330pm and there was no wait but we did see around 5pm, a line and wait was already formed downstairs by the elevator. Drinks are pricey but you are paying for the view so we already expecting that. But we were on vacation so it didn’t bother us too much especially when it seemed like a lot of Chicago drinks are priced around there anyways. And like the other Unilocalers, you get a view with a drink instead of paying for the 360. If I could, I would have given this place a 3.5 instead. Why? We were sat right in front of the beaming sun(didn’t think the sun would be bothersome till after we ordered our drinks) – so I asked the host if he could seat us at the other window side if anyone was done. He told us we would have to order another drink. I gladly said — of course yes. He replied with«ok… are you sure… You sure you going to get another drink? Cause I can’t move you if you don’t.»(And no he wasn’t kidding) I already told him I would. I thought this was extremely rude. If you move me and I haven’t ordered another drink after awhile then come say something. Idiot. But… 4 stars because our waitress– Samantha was friendly and had no problem in seating us at a different table in her section! And the view was just amazing. Would recommend for tourists in Chicago!

Came up here for the view, and it did not disappoint. Drinks are of course pricey, but you are definitely paying for the view, and it’s worth it. We came around 8:30 p.m. or so, and were seated quickly. I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad view at any table at this place. I had a Revolution IPA. Not as hoppy as west coast IPA’s, but still enjoyable. Husband had a cocktail. Women’s bathroom, as I’m sure everyone has already mentioned, is basically all windows so you can continue to have that gorgeous night skyline when you go to pee or poop.

We wanted to get a great view of Chicago without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. We settled for the Signature Lounge which was just A-OK. The drinks were very uninspiring and standard considering the cocktail culture all over the city. the view was worth lame drinks though. Best view was from the women’s bathroom haha. Warning, people get real tense here waiting in line to go up and down the elevator. Some lady tried to start something with me because she thought I cut her. *eye roll*

Great Views of a great city! There are 2 sections BTW, when exiting the elevator, to the right is the city view side, typically busier! To the left is the North Side view, was quieter since the view is not of all the skyscrapers. The drinks are VERY expensive here, food is about on par with a nice place. My only complaint, be it a big one, why was there a toddler in a stroller in the bar? I have no idea why they let that happen, but a whining child in a place that serves mostly 21+ drinks ruins the experience.

Hands down, best view of the city! Enjoying a drink at sunset looking over our beautiful city is really a treat! Yes, the drinks are expensive, but you’re paying for the view not the drinks. I ordered the Gin & Ginger and my boyfriend ordered the Manhattan. Both were strong and good, but I would not have paid $ 15 for them each, if it wasn’t accompanied by the view. We also ordered the Lagunitas IPA Beer Cheese Dip, which was tasty but much thicker than I was expecting… Like the consistency of mashed potatoes. If you’re coming from out of town or just have an excuse to treat yourself to a beautiful view and a cocktail, I would recommend.

If I could give zero stars, I would. First the elevator staff at the ground level were making fun of a tourist. Next, I was observing the view when the elevator staff at the 96th floor rudely snapped at me if he could help me. I said no and he continued to stare at and give me a dirty look. While in the elevator, the elevator staff inquired where everyone was from. After some responded, he snapped, no need to get offensive, I’m just the elevator man. The waitress repeatedly asked what we were waiting for. They were severely understaffed. Crowded, Noisy and dirty in the lounge.

This is the place to take Chicago tourists or a love interest. Skip the fees, lines and kids at the observatory a coupla floors down and just have a $ 16 cocktail or $ 9 beer here and maybe a light bite and get pretty much the same views. Not all lounges here will be open based on demand. But the main one with south views towards the bulk of Chicago’s architecture will be. I’m amazed how high up I feel slightly less than twice as high as my 53rd floor apartment here, which you can see looking SE. It looks so damn short from up here, strange! Drinks are good. David P recommended the then off-menu Negroni. For the money they’re competently made and potent cocktails. Light bites are about the same but didn’t have any on the last trip. Desserts are always a hit too. Service is quick. These servers are hustling around constantly. I wonder what their ring in a shift is? $ 2,500? Times 20%, that’s $ 500. I should get a second job.

Gorgeous view!!! The view from thus restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! It’s on Hancock building’s 95th floor and has such a beautiful view of Chicago downtown, lakeshore drive, and everything else around it. The line to get a table moves fairly quickly if you don’t want a window table. We wanted a window table so we had a wait a little bit for our table. There’s no reservations needed for the lounge but you do need reservations for signature room which is on 94th floor and is a restaurant. I prefer the lounge because its a bit more casual and has the same view and also has food on the menu. We didn’t have anything to eat but we just had some drinks and enjoyed the view. Their drinks are a little expensive but that’s expected because of the view. PS they even have a great view in their bathrooms!

Spectacular views. We came on Christmas eve and although all the window tables were taken we did find another table for two and had a manahatten. $ 20 a piece for the drinks but worth every penny. When a window table opened up the waitress moved us immediately without us even asking.(She said her manager told her to pick her favorite couple. sweet!) The views are incredible. Especially in the bathrooms. They have a small glass floor area in them so u get the full effect. The elevator ride up is not for the claustrophobic as they jam pack it with people. Seriously But the views… wow

What a great place to have a few cocktails! Unfortunately, it was quite foggy when we did come here so the view wasn’t the best but it was still lovely when the fog started to clear a little. Definitely recommend coming here on a nice clear day!

Was recommended to try this place from a former Chicago resident(and current Chicago enthusiast). $ 15 – 17 for a drink vs $ 20 to get just the view in the observatory? Sounds like a no-brainer to me. I stood in line for about an hour on a Saturday afternoon to catch the sunset. Don’t be fooled if the line looks short… it is separated into sections and loops around corners. Additionally, there’s a line when you get to the top. Although the sun had already set by the time I sat down, there was still a solid 30 min of beautiful twilight to behold. Because I was by myself, I managed to snag a prime window bar seat with unobstructed west-facing views. After I had picked up my jaw off the floor and snapped my share of photos, I realized that no one had come by to even give me a menu. I fought the temptation to just leave, since I’d really already gotten what I came for. One glance at the food menu and I decided my travel budget is better suited for ground prices. I opted for a non-alcoholic blood orange iced tea to avoid having to wait out sobriety. The drink was decent, if not(expectedly) overpriced at $ 9. The 3-star rating is mostly due to the lack of service in the lounge itself. Overall, I definitely recommend a trip here if you have the patience to wait in line. The nominal charge to get a drink or two is absolutely worth the breathtaking views.

While waiting in line, I overheard one of the guest(who just left the lounge) tell his friends this place was«overhyped.» Being a tourist in Chicago, I of course wanted to check it out anyway… even though the wait was almost 45 minutes at 8pm. Unless you care to run your toosh up over 90 flights of stairs, you’ll have to wait in line for the elevator! Just when you think the lines are over… they’ll bring you into another line. Once you get upstairs, there is one last line to be seated. The view was nice but there was constantly people at the window so it was hard to get a picture. 2 old fashions &2 waters(Fiji bottles only) set us back $ 54 with tip! I know we’re paying for the view and all but I didn’t think it would be that much. If you plan on getting wasted, avoid the signature lounge at all costs! One time experience for tourists.

Alright. we officially visited this and the Willis tower in one day. I would agree with fellow Unilocalers. just come here! You get the same views and at least get a drink out of it when you are up there for the cost. Obviously the ladies bathroom is a hit — best views. Cracking up that the men’s bathroom doesn’t even have a window hahaha Drinks are pricey, so is food, but it’s a fun place to check out at least. Enjoy!

I came here several times when I was in Chicago for a week during the summer. The view is spectacular, but note that you can’t see anything sometimes because of the fog. You find a table yourself and then a server will come to you. Try not to change tables after settling on one though, especially if the server already took your order. It’s very frustrating for them. If you’re feeling hungry, try their turkey wrap. It’s delicious, and the portion is huge; you can either share it, save the other half for later, or just chow the whole thing down if you’re feeling especially hungry! Drinks are okay. They’re not stiff and are a bit watered down. Prices aren’t too bad, compared to the upscale bars back in northern California. Overall, this is a great hangout spot(especially for tourists and visitors) to enjoy drinks, bites, and the view.

(I’m still speechless.) By far the most stunning city view I’ve ever seen, especially the unobstructed one from the lady’s room. The cocktail list is extensive and pricey pricey pricey, but the view is completely worth it, even if you don’t get a window seat. It’s dark and intimate, but not so swank that two small-city tourists in nice jeans felt out of place. My friend’s chocolate martini was gorgeous, and my tequila/Rum Chata spiked hot chocolate was, yeah, as good as it sounds. A perfect end to my first day in Chicago!

My sister was in town and we decided to hit up the Signature Lounge for drinks afterwards. Yes, I know it is a super touristy place to visit, but whhhhyyy not?!? I agree the views are phenomenal. The décor is like a mix between a banquet hall and a family diner. The prices are ridic for the drinks. You’re pretty much paying for the view so don’t expect world class drinks. I recommend grabbing tables near the window or bar seats next to the window. For the ladies, the best view is actually in the bathroom. The stalls look gross and old. However, the giant windows give you an amazing view of the city, so take pictures! Word to the wise… if you stay until closing time during the week… you may end up getting trapped in Signature Lounge. The main elevators work until a certain time and we ended up having to use their service elevators which look like something out of a scary movie. Would I go back again… eehhh…maybe with out of town guests who want to see the skyline. Otherwise, it was a nice experience to do one time.

Okay, little secret here: don’t go to Sears Tower! Why pay for a ticket to get the«best view of the city» when you could buy a drink or dessert instead and ACTUALLY get the best view of the city?! My friend took me here my first day in Chicago. You wait maybe 5 – 10 minutes before seated and then you get panoramic views of the entire city — including downtown which is what you wanna see anyways! So on my first visit I had the Golden Lady drink and albeit very strong, and I don’t drink much, I felt it was worth the $ 15+ it cost! I know, you’re thinking«wow! That’s so expensive for a cocktail» but think of what you’re getting: a really strong drink at really high altitude and an AMAZING view! My friend and I were super buzzed off one drink, you probably will be too. Second day I brought my friends back up cause I know they would want sick pictures from here. Tip: the ladies bathroom as the best view! This time around I ordered The Matador — equally as strong but still good! Also ordered us the pumpkin maple crème brûlée which was fantastic and came with a snickerdoodle.

Go for the view, thats about it. The drinks are OK, yes pricey but not as bad as they could be for where it is. The staff doesn’t seem to care too much and more about just getting people in and out. You go for the view, the views are awesome, but you’ll need a window seat to really appreciate it.

Signature Lounge is located in the John Hancock tower on the very top floor. It is a gorgeous place with an impressive view and great drinks to date. Although the drinks are on the pricier side, it is well worth it with the view that comes with it. We came in on a Sunday night, and it was busy! Thankfully, we were able to secure a table right next to the window, and took advantage of it. I ordered several drinks, and everything tasted great. My personal favorite was the chai cinnamon drink, and although the place was extremely busy, the server was getting work done! It seems like they need more waiters though. Overall, a great place to grab a drink with a view. The downstairs lobby is gorgeous as well, and I was able to take a few shots before leaving. Must visit if you’re a tourist!

A better view than the glass box you apparently just pay to go up to and sit in. *Cough* Sears, whatever it’s called now, Tower. Located on the 95−96th floor of the John Hancock building, they’ll throw you in an elevator that’s packed and it will ZOOM you to the top. Sure the drinks are overpriced, but the view was incredible! Well worth it. It gets pretty packed, but no drink and view vs. drink and view … we know the clear winner. A decently stiff drink that is typical of most standard bars, but hey you get an incredible view and lights that just seem to go on and on and on. Definitely come check out this view!

3.5 The whole process to get upstairs is just line after line after line. Just when you think you are gonna go up, you turn the corner and placed on another line. A tip for people who are groups of 2, find another group of 2 and sit together! I was a group of 2 and they kept skipping us and taking people that had 4 or more people and seated them first. After 30 minutes we just partnered up with another 2 group and got seated right away. The process to get seated on a saturday at around 6pm took around an hour. The only reason anyone would come here is for the view and the view was beautifullll! You get a whole 360 view! The drinks are around $ 15, which is pretty pricey but expected for a place like this. View is definitely beautiful so worth a visit and a lot cheaper and shorter wait time than if you were to go to Willis Tower also for the ladies, you get the amazing view in the bathroom! ^__^

There was only one entrance and exit at the time because of all the construction. Upon entering we had our IDs checked, then got into a line to take the elevator up to the 96th floor. Anthony sat us immediately at a table, but later moved us to the window! Yay! Thanks Anthony! My sis and I came here for dessert and the view. We decided on: BANANATIRAMISU — $ 10 It tastes like your average tiramisu but with a banana flavor and some caramel drizzle. It was decent. Oh and you can see the view from the restroom is you don’t want to be around the noisy atmosphere. It was a Monday night and it was busy!

The Signature Lounge is located on the 96th Floor of the Hancock Tower. The Hancock tower is the 3rd largest skyscraper in Chicago(behind Willis [Sears] Tower and Trump building). Because of its height, views are fantastic. I would think the best time to go is a little before dusk so you can see the city during the day and at night; however, I also think the lines would be the worst then, so it might not be worth it. I went around 8 or 9pm. I didn’t have to wait too long to go up the elevator, but the restaurant looked pretty packed(95th floor, Signature Lounge overlooks the Signature room). The restaurant/lounge has all glass windows, so there isn’t a bad seat. We just came for the view, so we had 1 drink and left. Cocktails are about $ 15. Definitely a tourist spot, but hey, I WAS a tourist, so I didn’t care. Can’t comment on the food or the 360 tilt, as I didn’t try either, but the views were great. PS: As you’re leaving, there is a really cool optic light sculpture on the ground level.

Auf der Rechnung verkündet der understatement-Leitsatz: «The Restaurant Chicago looks up to».
