ShutterBox Photo Booth

My experience with ShutterBox Photo Booth was really disappointing. I used this company for my wedding last year, and the quality of the photos was poor. The pictures were grainy, and the colors looked faded and off. I’ve been to a lot of weddings that incorporated photo booths during their receptions, and most of them printed much more quality photos than ShutterBox did at mine.
Nevertheless, the people at ShutterBox are very friendly and easy to work with. Brandon was very quick and efficient at answering my questions, and it did not take long to reach a contract. Catie was the graphic designer who helped me design the border for the photo strip. All in all I thought she was very helpful and pleasant to work with. The only problem was that on my actual wedding day, ShutterBox didn’t even use the border design that Catie and I came up with. For instance, the background was supposed to be pink, but the actual photo strips’ background was white. The font was also a different color, and the background graphic was almost imperceptible.
Customer service was great here, but the actual experience, unfortunately, was not.

I was the chair of a non-​profit event and a week before the event, I found someone willing to sponsor a photo booth. I worked with the owner Rob an we were able to get this scheduled quickly. Onsight, Kevin was our photo booth host and did a fabulous job getting people to participate and dress up with hats, etc. He even stayed open a little bit so those of us organizing could find the time to get in. I would highly recommend them. P. S. Our particpants LOVED the photo booth and the prop box with hats, etc.

We used ShutterBox Photo Booth for our wedding in May. The people at ShutterBox were great to work with beforehand in designing our layout for our photo strips. On the day of the wedding, they were on time and the Photostrips turned out great. Our guests loved them and they were one of the highlights of the night. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again!

I was finally able to have a mini photo session at the last Unilocal event (Passport to Elmhurst). I’ve never been in the photo booth before but I’ve always seen all the cool pics and knew I wanted to try it. There were tons of props to choose from such as hats, feather boas and oversized glasses. I didn’t use any of those because I am a germaphobe.
Our pics turned out really cute and I liked that they gave you a print out (your choice of black and white or color) to take home with you. Mine is nicely displayed in my cube at work.

Customer service after event: Abysmal.
I was excited to work with shutterbox, they seemed to have the best reviews. And for the most part, the photobooth, the attendant and customer service were ok. Standard, nothing beyond expectation.
The package I purchased included a complimentary DVD of the evening’s pictures. It is now 3 weeks later, and after numerous emails and phone calls, I still have not received a DVD nor a response.

They graced their presence at the Unilocal Elite Event: Sweet Taste of India and I definitely will say that this was one of the best highlights of the night!
Our group of 10 squeezed our way into this photo booth and we all FIT. I am extremely impressed. The instructions were very easy to understand, the booth was very well lit and we were all impressed with the immediate printout of our photos! The template design was amazing.
Since I will be planning a dinner for my organization, I seriously am considering booking ShutterBox! It’s such a fun addition to a party and EVERYONE (including your friend who is always-​behind-​the-​camera photographer) gets to be in it.

I have now used Shutterbox twice. Once for a huge fundraising event and more recently some friends and I surprised our best friend and her husband with a photo booth at their wedding. I was also at another friends wedding recently and there was a Shutterbox booth there as well. These guys are extremely professional and easy to work with. When you call with a question there is always someone there to answer it or call you right back, no waiting for days to hear back from anyone. They give you an array of customizeable graphics for your photo strips — so they are really personalized. They come to set up the booth and are quick and efficient, and the guys running the booth a friendly and fun (we love Derek & David).
The quality of the photos is better than any other photo booth company I’ve ever seen. You can request a photo book that you get at the end of the night with copies of all of the photos from the night — such a great memory book!
Can’t wait to use them again & I highly recommend using them!

Yuck. I was really excited to work with ShutterBox after all the great reviews I read. On Tuesday, I received a price quote and started the reservation process for a work event. I was told over the phone that they would be emailing me the necessary paperwork. I never received the contract. I’ve left messages on both of their Chicago phone numbers in the past two days as well as emailed them (assuming the person on the phone misunderstood me when I provided my email address). It’s now Thursday and I’ve received no notification and no one is picking up their phone.
Adding to the frustration, I explicitly expressed the fast turnaround for this reservation. I was only given a week to pull this together for an event the Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend. The whole process was a buzz kill. They have also left me scrambling to find a different company right before Memorial Day.

This review is semi-​second hand information. What I mean by that is I don’t know how it is to do business with them directly. What I do know is that when they show up, it’s party time!
I have been to many events and weddings where these guys show up. It’s fun, a great idea, and the people staffing the booth were friendly and on the ball the entire time. Everyone, young and old, seems to let their hair down and let loose when a photobooth is around.
So, be like Emeril, kick it up a notch, and make your next event a hit!

As a self proclaimed photo booth expert, I feel completely comfortable putting my official seal of approval on ShutterBox Photo Booth and labeling them the #1 Photo Booth around.
It has become my personal goal to ensure that all of my engaged friends do themselves a favor and get ShutterBox for their weddings. It’s the most sure fire way to ensure that all of your guests have the best time possible and really, what’s more fun than seeing Grandma try to pose for the «thug» segment of your photo shoot. C’mon G-​ma… West Side it up!
Now, I’ve got a pretty admirable collection of photo booth pics from all over the place in my possession. In fact, well over 200 of those fun little picture shows currently reside at my home. Now, why am I bragging about such a narcissistic feat? Well, it’s to allow you, the reader, to rest assured that you’re getting the best photo booth experience around as ShutterBox quickly moved to being my most favorite photo booth ever.
Why, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. First thing’s first, set up is stress free and quick as a can be and the booth itself takes up very little space but invokes an exponential value of fun. You, the organizer of your event, can personalize the slides that print out to show the name of your organization, date of your wedding, and more. After you take pics, your photos are saved on the booth and the monitor plays a slideshow of everyones pics from the event. Hint, hint. don’t tell your guests and let them figure it out AFTER a few people opt to take less than appropriate photos. While taking the pics, you can choose between black and white or color prints (my personal fave). Then once it’s pic-​cha time, you get three poses as opposed to most other booths where you have 4. I MUCH prefer the 3 because it’s easier to come up with poses. That way you don’t end up with one pose as thugs, one as rockers, one kisses, and one looking confused about what your 4^th pose should be. ShutterBox is really on to something with the 3 photo method. Then, once you’ve finished taking the pics, your super chic, high quality prints come out in less than a minute. LOVE IT! Oh, and if things get a little crazy at your event and people lose their photo strips you’re covered because ShutterBox will have the digital files of all photo strips from that night available online in less than 24 hours.
Wedding season is here and I’m ready for the flashbulbs.

Attention all you event-​planner extraordinaires!
Yes, photobooths are still in vogue. The way I see it, photobooths = bacon. My rationale? No matter how many times they make an appearance, everyone is always happy to see ‘em!
And just like bacon, photobooths can get dressed up to the nines. ShutterBox offers several nice add-​ons, which I’ll detail below:
1. The photo strips come out perforated for you and a buddy to keep, so you can give that pesky scanner a rest.
2. They do a really nice job of adding your company logo, name of party and any other graphic you’d like to the photos!
3. You can choose from color or black and white, and either classic photo strip or 4×6 formats.
4. They come out dry, so no risk of smudging your goofy works of art!
Additionally, Jen and Rob are wonderful people to work with. One of them will show up 1 hour prior to the event to set up. Really, that’s all the time they need! And they’re fast — I had the digital images the very next morning the last time I worked with them. Highly recommended!

We had them for our wedding and they were great for all the pre-​wedding planning. Everyone enjoyed the photobooth and were all amazed with it. We had doubles so that people can have them as a favor. We also had a guest book. Which I still look at because everyone wrote such amazing items on there. That was the first thing I wanted when I got back tot he hotel after the wedding.
We cherish the book and the memories. We would absolutely recommend them to everyone!

We used ShutterBox at our wedding recently and have nothing but great things to say about them! Before the wedding, Jen and Rob answered all of my questions promptly and were extremely professional throughout the whole planning process. We custom-​designed our wedding invitations, and they were able to match our design on the photo strips. On the day of the wedding, the booth was set up right on time and all of our guests absolutely loved it! After the wedding, we received a CD of all of the pictures taken in the booth — it’s clear that everybody had a blast considering how many photos were taken and now we have a priceless memento from our wedding. Highly recommend ShutterBox!

The booth was awesome – probably the biggest hit of our wedding – and the correspondence with the company was timely and great.
The reason it didn’t get 4 stars is because the worker that was assigned basically just sat in the background and didn’t make ANY attempt to have my guests put the duplicate photos in an album (as I explained to him I wanted). Many of my guests didn’t even know there was a album there they should have put their photos in!
BUT – the booth was great — we have awesome photos (you get a CD with all the photos on it after). I would say just go ahead and stick your own note up in the booth to «make sure to put your duplicate photo in the guestbook!» Spend the money and just do it – you won’t regret it!

I had a chance to work with Rob & Jennifer McCarty on the photobooth for my wedding on May 9, 2009 and they did an awesome job! It was a big hit at our wedding. I never made a better choice. The quality of the prints were outstanding. People actually thought they were my professional ones. I highly recommend Shutterbox!

ShutterBox Photo Booth is a hit! We recently worked with Rob at a Komen Chicago charity event and everyone LOVED the photo booth. Rob was wonderful to work with and was very professional and corteous. Our guests had so much fun making there way in and out of the photo booth, posing with all their friends and family. We had so many laughs!

I hired Shutterbox Photo Booth for a charity event that I host every year. Their administration team was very easy to work with, I booked their booth the same day I called to inquire. The booth attendant was friendly, very helpful and at my request. he dressed for the tropical theme of my event. I have already booked their booth for a second event, at the dinner reception for a golf outing this summer. I would recommend their services for any event, the booth is a hit for all ages and it is very professionally made.

5 stars all the way! I used Shutterbox Photobooth for my wedding reception last November. Guests were lined up at the booth. it was such a hit! The 4×6 color photo grids came out crisp, clear and fast. I’m so glad that I also added their scrapbook service. it was so much fun for my guests to decorate. and a great keepsake for me and my husband! I highly recommend Shutterbox. couldn’t be happier!

We hired ShutterBox Photobooth for my 50^th Birthday Party. It was a disco theme party at a ballroom.
My friend suggested hiring a photo booth, claiming it was «all the rage» for weddings and parties. I’d never heard of them, although I’m a fan of the nostalgic booths at arcades.
Well, let me tell you, it was the HIT of the party. Groups as big as 6 – 8 could squeeze inside the curtained booth. The camera prompts you «5−4−3−2−1» and everybody mugs for the camera. Even the shyest of my guests took advantage of the booth.
I had lots of fun «YMCA» themed hats, etc. and people wore them! I also had a life-​size cardboard cut-​out of Barack Obama, and he got lots of photos taken with my guests! ShutterBox can provide a box of fun costume/​hat props if you’re interested.
Rob and Jennifer took great care of us. They printed dual strips of all the photos, giving one as a party favor to my guests and keeping one for a lovely album Jen made on the spot. She decorated it with cute decals and provided metallic ink pens for my guests to write a sentiment. I treasure it – and I didn’t have to make it, which is even better!
These guys delivered what they promised, and more. I highly recommend you hire ShutterBox Photobooth for your next big event!
