My husband and I got married at the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii. Father Fragomeni led a beautiful ceremony, and was the perfect Priest to marry us. Carl was helpful in the planning process of the ceremony. Overall, this church is beautiful, and a great choice for a Catholic wedding ceremony!

It was between Our Lady of Pompeii and Holy Family for our wedding. Holy Family won out, because of its Victorian Gothic architecture and homey feel. Our Lady of Pompeii is absolutely beautiful with a very accommodating staff. The stained glass and dome are second to none.
Churches are the architecture that sometimes people miss when touring Chicago. This is a church worth stopping to see.

This church is beautifully decorated.
The Padre Pio statue looks ALIVE — its truly amazing.
No air conditioning — but most churches are not unless it is newly renovated.
Carl was very accommodating when we were organizing a beautiful wedding here. He helped with the audio, the guiding of the wedding rehearsal, and gave directions on where to park. Parking is a bit confusing but look out for that sign on the street that says you can park somewhere even though it says you need a permit.
Be forewarned tho it is only Carl so if you decide to use flower pedals don’t — or else you’ll have to pick up after yourself. Carl cannot do it all now! lol
So stick to the whole bubbles thing.
But really a beautiful church.

A very beautiful church!!! Most Catholic churches have the stained glass windows and statues with candles. This church had all that, but they also had streams of ribbon flowing from the ceiling to the floor. Whoever did the decorating of the church did a great job! They even offer handouts of a self-​guided walking tour of the stained glass windows. The people here are very nice as well as we were greeted by a few people working here.

Should I rate a church? Well, its a good review, so no harm done. The priests are all good people, and the group that attends this church are good people. Very nice building/​architecture.
