Saroya did an amazing job on my hair! I have a ton of thick curly hair and she patiently roller set and trimmed my hair perfectly. She listened closely to exactly what I wanted and did great work. Whenever I am in Chicago I will be coming to see her.

I’ve been to this salon several times but I can say that each visit gets better & better! Most recently, I went in for a Brazilian wax & was immediately greeted with refreshments & a nice staff. Kiky, who did my service was very warm, nice & welcoming. She did a great job & I was charged a very great price. The team takes pride in providing top-​notch service whether it be hair, nails, or body, it’s definitely worth trying! They have a loyal customer who will send others their way! 5 STARS!

Michael is an amazing stylist, a hair god if you will. I have known him, his work and seen his work for two years. He hits the perfect mark every time, he has never failed. So listen closely Miss Nicole B. you are clearly an idiot that does not know anything about her water sources that she has been using. The tap water you have miss Nicole B. clearly has a high IRON Content. You know you did not leave Michaels Salon red you got red from the shower anyone who understands simple chemistry should know that very simple good day Nicole B. is a liar.

I love when scammers like Nicole B. try to get free services by threatening to give hard working people a bad Unilocal review. As you can see she has given over 50% of her reviewed services and venues a 1 or 2 star.
I was in the salon when this «lady» came in and demanded a refund for hair I actually thought was fantastic. I would imagine long thin stringy hair as hers is a challenge for any hair designer however I think the poor stylist did well.
I cringed as she yelled and threatened him. Said she was going to sue him and she was going to get her money back one way or another. I wish I had my phone on video so I could have shared it.
I was actually going in to get an up do and Michael did a fantastic job handling my wayward extensions and Irish curly hair that day. I have been going to him off and on for two years (I don’t live as close to the south loop so sometimes I have to cheat on him haha).
I have had brown hair, blonde, brown with blonde highlights and each time I have loved my hair. If I ever didn’t and it was a reasonable request… I have no doubt he would fix it immediately no questions asked.
Its a shame some people use Unilocal as a way to bully and get free services.

I have been coming to see Michael for a little over a year now. I found him at Spoil me Salon, followed him to Kovo, and am thrilled to see he has his own place now. Michael is the best. Especially if you’re looking for reds. We have changed it up, from back, to red, to strawberry blonde back to black (heads up, I may be going red again soon) and I have had amazing results every time. There was one time I had to rush out midway through processing because i had to go to work, but I came back in the next day to finish up, and as usual, it was exactly what I wanted. Most of the time I just let him loose. I tell him what I’m looking for and have him work his magic however he feels best. I trust him with my hair (no one else touches my hair right now). If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with your hair, Michael WILL fix it for you at no charge. Unfortunately, that leads to scammers like Nicole B, who will take advantage to try and get free services at the expense of hard working professionals. I saw pictures of her hair before and after and it looked amazing. Almost made me want to go blonde. Either way, Michael Hopkins is excellent and his new salon is amazing. Michael is a hair god. I have not walked out of a hair appointment feeling this cute and confident in a long time. He gave me exactly what I wanted– but better. Not only is he a great stylist, but he has such a great personality that I didn’t even touch my magazine; we had a blast! :) He will definitely be my new go to hairdresser from here on out.

Where do I start??? Ok in march a purchased some hair from the salon which I communicated with Tony, the owner of the hair line. He refers to the hair as lavish hair smh. At that time I purchased what I believe to have been 4 bundles of Brazilian deep wave, 22inches. I paid $ 400 at that wish they made seem was a discounted price. I didn’t mind at the time because I figure good quality hair is a lil more expensive. I’ve been wearing sewins since 2006. So I know about good quality. All my previous experiences with hair had been great. My sisters a stylist so she’s always made sure I had the best hair which a the minimum lasted atleast 2yrs. I heard about salon heavens hair through social media so I decided to give it a try. So I co washed the hair mildly and had my sister install it. It was ok. I noticed it would get tangle so I jus made sure at nite I twisted it and wrapped it daily. So about 3 wks ago I went to salon heaven and had a awesome stylist do my install. He washed it out my head then sewed it in. He worked a miracle and for the time being I was satisfied. He evn have me good hair advice about my natural hair. So instead of leavin my hair out I purchased a closure which was $ 125. I called bac this week to set a appt only to find out that stylist was no longer with the salon. I did my research and found him. A couple of days ago I wnt to him for a shampoo and style with the same Install he did jus 3wks ago. As soon water and a small amount of shampoo hit the hair it immediately started to tangle. It gotten so bad he set me under the steamer before the second wash. We tried so hard to untangle but the more we brushed and comb it startin shedding etc. We untangle the one side and it was about 2 bundles of hair that came out. We came to the conclusion this was not Virgin hair at all. It was synthetic blend which seems to be happening more and more these days. I immediately went to the salon heaven and let tony know happened after only two months of purchasing this hair. I just wanted to compromise tell him that the hair was professionally washed he jus so me bad hair and I wanted my money back. He was a complete jerk and did everything but admit his wrong. This was suppose to be a good investment for me. Instead it was a nightmare. He offered me $ 50 off my nxt hair purchase. Like who in they right mind would buy some more hair after experiencing that? He is a fraud. I’m a young hard educated mother of two. I make sure I spend my money wisely. Because if this night mare I had to purchase more hair from a good reliable vendor. And get that hair taken out and the good hair installed. It was a long annoying day for me. I’m jus sharing this experience with the hope us women we be more careful with who we purchase hair from. Please don’t let this dishonorable so called business owners fool you. I waisted money time and energy this day. Luckily I was able to find the stylist who by the way had nothing to with this nightmare instead welcomed me his new salon family who made me flawless again with some new hair that is 100%virgin. I love it. Jus wash out for lavash hair!!! It’s not Lavish at all. It might not catch u right away but it will for sure that second wash. Most importantly wash out for Tony. I don’t know if the actual salon owner is aware of what he is doing. She did seem a little sincere but she needs to let him go before he brings her business down!!!

I recently moved to the South Loop and need an updo for an event tomorrow. Scheduled an appointment last week with a woman who said she wasn’t sure who would be available, «probably Michael» and scheduled me for 3÷7÷15 at 3:00. I was concerned about her vague response when I asked the stylist’s name. I called today to verify, and sure enough, I was not scheduled. I was put on hold for quite awhile and was told that I was not on the schedule, that they have 2 schedule books and that the owner with the other book was not in right now. What?!? The scheduler said she could work me in, but I decided against using such a disorganized salon. Now I have to find a stylist available on a Saturday at the last minute: great.
I will not use this salon and do not recommend.

Worst experience ever!!! I decided to book an appointment with Megan, after searching for an awesome colorist/​hair stylist close to home. A girl always needs a good back up plan when you main stylist goes on vacation or not available for that last minute appointment.
So, I called Salon Heaven at least four days before my scheduled appointment and spoke with either the owner or manager (not sure which one).
On the day of my appoint I decided to show up show up at least 20 mins. early so we could talk about color and cut before my appointment and the front receptionist couldn’t find information my information calendar. What made it even worse… hair stylist wasn’t even working that day. Receptionist made a call to the «owner» and she did apologize for not entering the appointment into the computer. I was told, «she was working off site for the day. I’m sorry. I can offer you a free manicure and schedule you for tomorrow (saturday).»
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to fit the offer into my weekend schedule.
I left disappointed and frustrated. I had to go back to my regular stylist… so happy to learn she was able to it me in her hectic schedule.
The owner did follow-​up with me and try to resolve the situation by offering another stylist at a steep discount but I wasn’t comfortable. I was trying to get my hair colored and styled before an important vacation trip.
Lesson learned… if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

After reading the reviews, figured I’d take a chance on Salon Heaven. Left a message to make an appointment to cut my hair, Kiky got back to me right away and was able to schedule me that same week! So had my haircut done by Michael (haven’t had it cut in over 2 years, just needed someone who really knows how to cut curly hair), he gave me an excellent cut, 2 weeks later I was still getting compliments! And he even texted me to check in to make sure I was satisfied! (that has never happened anywhere I’ve been!) He was super easy to talk to and asked questions about the cut as he went along to ensure he got it just right, really appreciate that. Guess I found my hairdresser!

The staff at Salon Heaven were extremely nice and accommodating. They went above and beyond in customer service. I called an hour before closing time to see if I could walk in to get an eyebrow wax. I hadn’t had them done in over 6 months and made some big mistakes trying to fix them myself. There was no one available right away, but I was told if I was willing to wait, I would receive a call back as soon as someone was available. The person on the phone (I think KiKi), was so nice and made me feel welcome. Since I was only a couple blocks away, that worked fine. I also offered to come another day, since I knew it was short notice. About 5 – 10 minutes past closing time, I received a call that Jasmine was available and would stay late. She actually came back, having already left. She was so nice and had a great attitude, even though I“m sure she would have rather be home at the end of her work day! She did a great job and took her time. She didn’t rush and didn’t complain about the last minute appointment. My eyebrows look amazing! She took time to explain filling in with brow powder and offered to do a make up teaching with me next time I came in. I will definitely be back and will request Jasmine. The salon was beautiful, the atmosphere was great and the customer service was excellent.

I haven’t got my eye lashes done in a while and saw a Groupon for Crème de La Lash (located at Salon Heaven & Spa). I booked my appointment about a month out and appreciated receiving a confirmation text. Sometimes I get worried when I book things so far an advance, but Semeka even sent me a reminder day of and was able to move my appointment time up. The salon itself is beautiful and pretty spacious. Very convenience location from the red line transportation.
Having got my eye lashes done before I was sort of dreading laying there for an hour, but she played such good music I was almost able to fall asleep. I like that she did one eye at a time versus having both eyes taped and going back and forth between lash applications. Somehow that made a big difference in my comfort. (I’m a contact wearer) I love the results! Not too long that they look fake, but they do make a huge difference. I have very large eyes and you have to use a longer length in order to make them really stand out.
As a side note something I will probably need to take up with Groupon, but she said that the deal where you get one full set of mink lashes and a follow up 4 week appointment is not correct. The follow up appointment is more so a filler appointment, but after four weeks you’ll probably only have two lashes left and require a new set (which she is willing to charge a discount on). A little bit of sneaky advertising, but she said that Groupon would not fix it, so she opted to remove her groupon completely. We worked out something, but for others just a heads up! :)

After an unpleasant experience in the past with this salon I said I would never return, however the owner contacted me herself to apologize about the ordeal and offered any further assistance and services at her business which I appreciated. Will give the salon another chance based off her generosity, sincerity, and good business practices. Will come here again when I return to Chicago.

Fantastic Salon! Friendly and outgoing staff with Innovative, creative, artistic and multicultural people. The whole ambiance of the salon was just a really great experience within itself. I went for a massage with Elijah, and boy, did he do an excellent job! His was thorough, friendly and professional. He used a combination of techniques designed to soothe my tension and help me relax.
Based on my subsequent interactions with the owner/​manager and couple of the other stylists, I’d definitely go back. They have a stylist (s) that specializes in natural hair care and I look forward to trying her. Even though the prices are a bit on the high end, you get what you pay for. :)

Like, seriously. This Brazillian didn’t even hurt that much… and I don’t know how that’s possible. Hard wax is just that amazing, maybe? Perhaps, it was due to the fact that I chugged a massive Rockstar during the day, so the caffeine was racing through my veins and helped induce some type of natural pain-​killer? I have absolutely NO idea. Def not complaining, though.
I think the waxer (also the owner — so sorry I forgot her name!) was just THAT good, though! She was such a darling… so sweet and hilarious. It took a little longer than expected (about 40 minutes), but I really didn’t care because she did a great and thorough job. Oh, and she was a lifesaver because she got me an appointment basically last minute on a Friday! Whoooo!
The salon itself is spacious and cute… with tons of hairdresser stations, big mirrors, bright lighting ! It’s located on the second floor, above the tanning studio, so you need to ring the bell and then can buzz you up. I loved that there was a huge tv and hip hop blaring when I came in.
The wax is normally $ 55, but there’s a 15% discount (I believe) for first time customers. Street parking is normally pretty easy, too. Another South Loop win!

4.5…I just cant give it a 5 star review because I compare everything to my old stylist.
However, Danyel called me and asked me to come back and try Salon Heaven because of the horrendous service that I received last time… alas, I am always letting businesses have a redemption, kind of like Tosh. O :)
Anyway, so it was the day after the snowpacalypse & thundersnow so I called to make sure that they were open. They had no apptmt for me. And said that my apptmt had been for the previous Thursday. I had a vm from the receptionist stating the date so something happened. Either way, Danyel made it work. She said to come on it… THANK GOODNESS I called though… I would have been PISSED!
So she is so freaking nice. I love her personality. Just totally laid back, etc. Not to pushy or annoying with trying to get to know you like some salons. So for that…5 stars.
The hair-​I actually really liked it this time! She did a fab-​o job. The cut was pretty good also.
