I’m pretty impressed with this store. Every time I have visited, the staff has been very nice. This last time took the cake. I called to ask if they had the item I was looking for and with an affirmative answer off I went. There was another lady in the store playing twenty questions with the lady working and she was really super helpful in her answers and even recommended another beauty product store not too far away when it was determined the product the customer was looking for was not available at Sally’s. The sales lady definitely knew her products and was able to figure out what the lady was trying to find from vague descriptions.

Very friendly customer service and a well-​stocked store. Street parking is fairly easy right out front! I went in to buy some velcro curlers and some clips… I had no idea where to find them, etc., and the girl who was working was super helpful and friendly. Also, super clean store! This is not your typical Sally’s.

just saw a Unilocal sticker in the window on my latest of hundreds of trips to Sally’s over the years so I thought it was time to finally contribute and write a review instead of just reading
this is my place for better or worse. they are not always the high end but they have it all and their prices are the best around if you live downtown. I go here all the time and never fail to find what I need.

If you want a wide variety of affordable hair and nail supplies, this place is great. But if you want to walk through roomy aisles and play around with makeup and perfume samples (like I tend to want to do!), you will be sorely disappointed.
Sally’s really is a beauty supply store rather than a beauty product store — it’s tiny and cramped, and the makeup selection they offer can typically be found at any drugstore (with the exception of China Glaze nail polish, which is really high quality for just $ 6.50 a bottle).
If this is a convenient location for you, definitely get the rewards card to start earning discounts. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend shopping at Sephora or Ulta for beauty products instead.

I always wind up living near a Sally’s. In Santa Monica, CA, I was within walking distance of one, too, which is rare in CA.
This Chicago store on State Street is just a short jaunt from where I live so it is very convenient. And they offered a $ 5 coupon when you pay the $ 5 membership, so it is basically a FREE membership! Score!
They always have whatever I need and they have great prices. The Sally’s brand is particularly appealing. Today they had duo-​toned eyeshadow for $.99! Love this store. And the staff is always nice, too!
They also have coupon deals in the store and send specials via email, which is handy.

This place is great, especially for people like me who think they know what they are doing and don’t. I walked in with gray hair, by accident when trying to dye the top part a little darker for that two toned affect. Well, yeah my hair was gray /​blue and very scary. The ladies there helped me out SUBSTANTIALLY. THANK YOU LADIES! The store is small, but that makes for easy in and out and less spending!
My only wish is that the workers wore uniforms or something to differentiate themselves from us common folk. I really needed some help, and was nervous about asking anyone near me in fear they were a shopper.

It doesn’t compare to Bravco, but they do have a lot of beauty supplies at very inexpensive prices. Takelya is right– they are all over the city! I never actually plan to go here, but end up just wandering in them since they are everywhere.
