hard to say i am a «fan» of a funeral home but honestly they did a beautiful service and are very attentive to family.

I have nothing but good things to say about Salerno Funeral Home.
The man who came to pick my mom up from the hospital and bring her to the funeral home was so wonderful and kind. Very respectful. And they came immediately. This was on Christmas Eve Day.
They have been very kind in dealing with my family at such a horrible time from making the cremation arrangements to answering any questions we have and picking out memory cards and my mom’s urn.
The Funeral Home itself is clean and kept in very good condition with a pleasant atmosphere (for being a funeral home)

If I could give them no stars I would. I can’t even believe how arrogant, disrespectful and complete assholes these people are!!! Per federal law you are able to purchase a casket from someone other than the funeral home itself. Which will save your family thousands (our family definitely is not wealthy) and the funeral home cannot charge you more than originally quoted. Not Salernos! They wanted to add an extra $ 2500! Which is completely against the law. They made a bad time for our family so much more painful! Greedy bastards! Had to have my M.I.L. picked up and taken elsewhere. When I arrived at the funeral home which ultimately held the service I asked how does the price change if I bring in our own casket? «It won’t» was the response. My brother called 2 other funeral homes and asked the same question all answered «it wont» salerno-​galewood is strictly in it for the $ It’s a shame they have forgotten that although a business for them it’s a time of sorrow for us families.

Its the funeral home that my family has been using for as long as I can remember. This time, my aunt, the wife of my uncle from my original review, passed away Monday and we had the service Friday & Saturday. They were very professional and we couldn’t have asked for a better Deacon. Don’t remember his name but he was a bald and based out of Carol Stream. Other than that, I got no complaints. Domino’s Bakery is a couple blocks south in case you get hungry waiting for the service to start.

My family has been using Salerno Funeral home for over 45 years.
I love the old world feel, They never changed the décor. And it looks beautiful just the way it is…
The work is beautiful on the deceased… And they treat you with wonderful care. and compassion.
It does not need updating, that is the reason why everyone loves them.
All my family is buried at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
And they know just what the Italian families want.
My uncle had his wake there and Frankie Reda Jr. made him look amazing. you would never know he had been sick, He did a great job.
We will always continue to use Salerno as our family funeral home.
And I hope they never change.
They don’t need to.
