I’m so happy to write this review about an amazing experience here. I was helped by Raymond. I came here a while back for engagement ring for my girlfriend. My now fiancé has a very vintage taste. So I sent Raymond a picture via email of the ring I wanted. He recommended CAD Design, which basically copies the ring. After he did the CAD in the computer he told me if I wanted to see it in person. And that when he made it into wax so I can actually hold it. Then he cast it in gold. The details where exact and I had him put a few more details that I know my fiancé would like. Raymond that you so much for your expertise and great customer service you made our engagement much more special!!!

My review of RL Jewelers starts at the end of my experience with them: my fiancé LOVES the engagement ring I bought her from there. The entire week since we’ve gotten engaged she has been staring at the ring and purposely using her left hand whenever possible to show it off. Of course I’m thrilled she loves the ring, but I think she would have said yes no matter what. So the difference between RL Jewelers and any one else is that they made the process for me seamless, stress-​free, and they were a partner in helping me find the perfect ring, not a salesman trying to push product.
I dealt with Daniel most of the time and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. At my first appointment, he had prepared almost a dozen different diamond stones for me to review and of various qualities to give me a sense for what the differences were. He also had the exact kind of band I was looking for!
Over the next few weeks as I continued changing my criteria (maybe a little more or less in weight, what about going up in color, or down in clarity, etc.) he was extremely patient and always was interested in getting me the diamond I wanted at whatever price was affordable to me and the best value. I really felt like he was a friend helping me find the best diamond for the best price. He never rushed me; he was truly committed to helping me find the perfect stone however long it took.
Fast forward to the end, my fiancé is thrilled and so am I. These guys are top-​notch, and I told Daniel when I left with the engagement ring that I would be back with my fiancé to purchase our wedding bands from him. Thank you, Daniel and RL Jewelers, for helping me find and pick the perfect ring!

Jason and Ray were both extremely helpful. My fiancé and I had no idea what we wanted and were looking for, but they made the process extremely easy. They had a great selection of rings and were able to custom make anything. I love my engagement ring, and we just picked out our wedding bands there too. They are very friendly, offer great customer service and competitive pricing.

Top notch jeweler. I have dealt with Daniel for years and have always been beyond happy with his jewelry and his customer service. He’s a great guy and goes above and beyond to make sure you get exactly what you went in there for. All his finished products are top notch. We came here to check out some rings and get my finger properly sized. My guy knows what I like, but I also have tiny fingers and just wanted to see how different styles looked on me.
I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know what to expect, but Jason and Ray were super helpful and never pressured us to buy or go outside of the budget. I had an idea of what I wanted, but seeing all of the sparkly settings in the case was still overwhelming!
A few weeks later, my now fiancé surprised me with a gorgeous vintage style, halo ring. I can’t stop staring at it! He is happy he went this route instead of buying something online. These guys can make any kind of custom ring, so you’re not limited to what you see.
We’ll be back for our wedding rings!

Excellent customer service. Ray and Jason designed a 9 stone platinum engagement ring based on several pictures that I provided to them. I probably drove them a bit crazy with my emails regarding the details (low setting with prongs that do not stick out and so on…) but they were always friendly and happy to make me happy. I looked at it today and it is gorgeous! It is being sent to my fiancé and I can’t wait to begin wearing it this weekend. We also purchased our wedding bands from them. Their prices are amazing. They beat the prices of all of the online stores that I endlessly researched. I would highly recommend that you do your homework and then go to RL. You will not regret it!

I had been looking at diamonds for six months, doing my homework on purchasing a Princess Cut stone. At the time I was working with a co-​workers good friend who’s office was on the «Row» as well. What jeweler shows a customer only one stone and says… this is what you need to buy… While in her office I checked reviews of other «Row» Jewelers and came across Daniel Lam of RL Jewelers and I’m sure glad I did… Daniel got me the exact Princess cut stone flown in from LA, that I wanted and designed my engagement ring exactly how I wanted, My fiancé’ received an AMAZING RING! and I came in way under budget of $ 15k Daniel also had my ring finished a week early! The whole process of choosing a special ring for a special lady, is just plain stressful. I’m glad I found RL Jewelers and I will not be using anyone else for my fine jewelry needs. Daniel, she absolutely LOVES THE RING!!! Thank you very much!

If you’re looking at big box retailers (you’re an idiot). If you’re looking at online shops (e.g., bluenile), definitely visit Ray and the process will be much easier. Prices are generally better too.

Raymond is my go to guy for jewelry. He designed my engagement ring with perfection. Best customer service! There was this one time that he actually came to my place of residence to pick up the ring to make changes to it! Totally unheard of! For years, I recommend all my friends to go to Raymond… and I wish the best for his business!

I’ve been spoiled by the New York Diamond district as a few jewelers in Chicago who I stuck to like glue. They were the guys who I trusted and dealt fairly with me and my family. I was lucky to find Raymond after a family recommendation (and my other jewelers had passed on). I was able to buy an excellent and gorgeous engagement ring, my wedding band, and my fiancé’s wedding ring. We have very specific and (to some difficult to deal with) tastes. Raymond was patient and honest and generous. Each item was to our specifications. The prices were great and we got great deals. I thank him for working so hard to make exactly what we wanted!

Let me just say I was not the one who went and purchased my ring. My husband negotiated with Raymond and I am speaking from someone who has the finished product. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and I told my husband I wanted a very nice center stone and diamonds around the bands and a halo. What I have now more than exceeds anything I could have ever imagined. It sparkles all day and night. The cut is excellent, the clarity is fantastic and the shape is round cut in a cushion setting. I love the fact that the way it was designed, the center stone sits above the rest of the ring so it stands out instead of being flush with the rest of the band. I stated what I wanted and received more than I could have ever expected. I will personally refer all of my friends to this store. Hands down the best jeweler.

Daniel is amazing! My poor fiancé had to deal with my indecisiveness on a ring style I wanted but somehow him and Daniel custom designed one that is beyond what I ever imagined. I love it. I also love how Daniel made the purchasing experience great for my fiancé. I am sure buying a ring can be tedious and stressful! I have heard many horror stories. Even after the proposal, Daniel has been nothing but fantastic to work with. I have needed my ring re-​sized twice and he has been so accommodating and friendly.
We will be recommending RL Jewelers to all our friends and going back for anything else we need in the future :)

Over the last 6 months I was ring shopping both online and around different jewelry locations in Chicago. Before I was about to purchase a ring off of blue nile I was referred to go to Rl Jewelers sometime in August. That is when I met Daniel and he made my visit very comfortable and easy. He taught me everything I needed to know about diamonds and the process of selecting an engagement ring. He showed me a few different options since I had brought in picture of what I was looking for and told him what kind of diamond I was looking for as well. He custom designed it and made it look better then the pictures brought to him. I finally proposed to my fiancé last weekend and she loved the custom ring. Just to see that smile on her face said enough. I definitely recommend RL Jewelers to anyone looking.

Ray is very helpful and patient while being the right amount of persistent. I came in seeking a diamond with precise specs and a budget that I didn’t want to break. Ray brought in a number of stones over a few weeks that I could see and compare. He put no pressure on me to buy anything that I did not love. He made an extra effort to secure a stone that fit my criteria particularly well that I rushed over to check out and ultimately buy. The best was I was able to design a setting that I wanted and it was significantly cheaper than any major store (e.g., Kay’s, Helzberg, etc) for the quality I got. Even Blue Nile couldn’t compete with the pricing and quality. Highly recommend Ray!

Raymond is fantastic! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an engagement ring.
I first walked into his shop 2.5 years before I ended up proposing to my fiancée. From that time on I came in at least a half dozen times before making the final decision. Every step of the way Raymond listened to what we wanted and helped guide us towards designs we preferred. We ended up having a custom design that was a blend of several rings we really liked. He was never pushy, and always emphasized that he was working on our time, not the other way around. This can’t be said of many other jewelers that we spoke to. Even when it came to the selection of the diamond, Raymond was knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. not pushy at all! Being my first time buying jewelry like this, I took the ring information to a friend in the jewelry business and happily found out Raymond’s price were incredibly reasonable.
Even after I got the ring and wanted to make a few minor adjustments, Raymond was extremely accommodating, timely, and friendly. He even offered to fix a piece of my mom’s jewelry for free as well (she was with me at the time)!
In short: My experience with Raymond was awesome. I will definitely be going back for the wedding bands and recommending him to anyone I know looking to buy.

Ray is amazing… helpful, and knowledgeable! I took both my wedding and engagement ring in today and he sized and cleaned them in 2 hours!!! I didn’t have to be without my rings for long. This is the place I will be going to for any of my jewelry needs!
