Right Away Plumbing

I am upgrading the rating to 3 stars after an appropriate response from the Right Away team. While I still had problems with this work, I feel their current response was much more in line with what I would expect from a company after problems like this arise, and giving credit where credit is due I had previous work done that went fine with them.

When I called they were able to accommodate my dire need for same day service as the toilet was making a noise that just wouldn’t stop. Ben came by to fix the toilet with replacing the valve pretty quickly. He gave me suggestions for other water related issues as we talked water pressure and filters, and let me know that there was a year long warranty on this part. So that was back in February and I forgot to post the review, and I called back again because there was low water in the toilet. Ben was pretty busy fixing a gas leak issue in a complex and let me know that he still would make it as late in the evening as 8pm, but I said that it was ok. He suggested FaceTime in which I was able to do showing him my issue with the toilet and he saw that the hose was out of the tube and told me to put it in. We flushed a few times and that fixed the problem. It felt like work and someone trouble shooting my computer issue but with the toilet. I liked how Ben was able to provide an alternative solution and save him the time from driving over and me having to schedule an appointment.

They came out and fixed my garbage disposal today. Very courteous and honest. Arrived early. Even tried to teach me how to unclog the disposal if it gets jammed again. I would definitely recommend Right Away to anyone. I will be calling them when I need to get my pipes changed.

I am having problems with the plumbing in my kitchen. I requested a quote and Right Away Plumbing called me back right away, literally. I scheduled an appointment and the plumber showed up early. Ben was professional and courteous. He explained the problem in a way that I could understand, as someone who knows nothing about plumbing. He offered 2 options to fix the problem and explained both thoroughly. He also gave me background on the city code and how the inspections work. Very helpful and a great experience obtaining a quote. I’m waiting to hear what my landlord wants to do but I hope he chooses Right Away.

I rarely write reviews, but Tony and the team at Right Away Plumbing do a great job with customer service. My story:
On Monday night I noticed our floor drain just outside our basement door is beginning to back-​up, so I did a quick google search and randomly picked Right Away Plumbing. Within 30 minutes, Tony was out to take a look — and he told me he couldn’t do the work that night as our clear out in our utility room is pretty well blocked and it was impossible to get in the machine to do a thorough job. It was a two person job, and he would have to come back the next day. (I asked about a smaller machine, but that doesn’t solve the greater problem.) So they came back on Tuesday AM and cleared it out.
TODAY (on Friday) I noticed the same problem and I called and Tony answered the phone himself. He promised to be back out the same afternoon and do the job again (thankfully we don’t have a collapsed line or any other structural issue) — and he did. I was waiting for the bill for the todays’ service, but there was none. It was already covered.
The professionalism and promptness give them the high rating. I would recommend them to anybody.

I called for help and I got a quick response. The service guy Benjamin was beyond early and most of all he did a great job! I don’t like to get cheap now you see them now you don’t service people. I always want professionals to do the job!

Called around and noted the wonderful 5 plus star rating. They were prompt @ coming out to give me a price. Simply request need about 15 to 20 ft of a new gas line. Poorly written estimate and the drum roll. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 2297.00.
I think the estimator. Though nice offered to place booties on his shoes ! Thinks I’m an idiot. ?!
None of the competitors came even close to this price. The company that will install the jenn air stove is around $ 600.00.

Plumber was able to come right away and was flexible. Very courteous and efficient. Will call them again.

I have called on Benjamin several times who is professional, courteous, kind and informative. Will definitely use these guys every time. We had a toilet overflow and Benjamin was there within an hour. He fixed the toilet completely. He has also been over to fix my backed up sink. Highly recommend.

I appreciate you have a business. I also appreciate that it’s 2016 and customers who want to share their experiences, can. I softened my original review — not that I have changed my perspective, but I do understand your position. I’ve already stated that I did not research prior but even now I hold the same view.
This was not only a review on price, this also
Included the online coupon and ‘don’t tell my boss’ stuff. That’s not good business practice and I hope it was an isolated event.
I don’t know what cost the neighbors model was and at this point I don’t care.
I did not call other companies so I don’t have the luxury of saying who else could or could not come out the same day. If you’re called Right Away plumbing — I’m not going to be excited that you came right away.
I’ll update this review to a 3 star and let people be the judge for themselves. This is the end of my communication.

Pros: Answered call right away. Came same day. Friendly tech.
Cons: Price.
Due to not being able to sell our condo we are new landlords like many others. Our garbage disposal went out and our tenant was upset because it was dead and had food inside. I called and they were able to go out later that afternoon and I was very thankful.
Tech got there and said that the disposal was ‘shot’ but he always carries two in his truck so it would be easy to swap out. When I asked about cost he said ‘Well it’s usually $ 419 but don’t tell my boss, I can give it to you for cheaper because of an online coupon, so it’s only $ 369′. Note: I knew this ‘don’t tell my boss’ line was odd but I’m in the middle of a workday with an upset tenant so I approve this.
Fast forward 30 minutes and he’s done and back to his car ready to take the credit card. I paid as agreed but asked what model he put in. When I got off the phone I googled the price. Home Depot (and various other online retailers) has a similar model for $ 84. So for 30 minutes of work, an $ 84 part, time, materials, and overhead I paid $ 369. That’s a pretty fabulous markup.
I blame myself for not saying thanks but no thanks when this person gave me the online coupon. I just talked to my neighbor across the hall in the building and her replacement disposal cost $ 100 total…
I did call back and speak to the person who originally scheduled the tech and I got an explanation about overhead and a 2 year warranty. Still high.
I was busy and didn’t have time to do proper research so I blame myself. I’m not saying don’t use them — they came say day… just do your homework first.

I want to give a shout out to Ben. We had a leaking sink + our bathtub water wasn’t working. He still delivered his service and survived through today’s Trump protest traffic. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend Right Away Plumbing, Inc. !

Was in a bind and they came through

We had a pipe burst on a Saturday night, and decided to wait until Sunday morning to find a plumbing service, but were without water until someone could come by. On Sunday morning around 8 am, I called about 6 other companies, and no one was able to give me a «yes, someone can come out today» except right away plumbing, which said someone could come between 2−3pm. Ben called me about 30 minutes after and asked if I would like him to come earlier, and he could be at our house by 10:30 am. Ben arrived about 10 minutes early, and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem within a couple of hours. I had the joint that had burst repaired, and he added a drainage valve so the problem wouldn’t happen again. The total price was $ 600 (including the fee for having the service done on a Sunday), which was well under what I was expecting. Ben also gave us some tips and recommendations on how to handle the insurance, and was very professional. All in all, great quick service.

Excellent service! I called on a Saturday morning to fix my kitchen sink and as the name says, Right Away Plumbing. Ben came to check out the sink and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it all within the hour. I am so impressed with the customer service, availability and professionalism. Would highly recommend.

I had my kitchen sink clogged Sat night and had to call for a service Sun morning. I called 4 different places and Right Away was the only place answering the call «right away». They sent someone over within an hour after explaining the weekend pricing thoroughly, which I also appreciated. The plumber, Ben, who called himself «old fat plumber» was AMAZING. He was honest and tried to find a way to fix my clogging at most economical way. He gave me tips not to use my garbage disposal too much and so on. He seemed sincere about options he was offering to me. The total price was also very reasonable despite of the weekend service chasege. I am very happy with this company and will call for them again. And, of course, I am writing this review so other people can get serviced as we did. Thanks for your quick service, Right Away.

Had an emergency at a rental unit in the west loop that I couldn’t solve myself so I called these guys and they were able to send a guy over that night and solve the problem. Phone communication was excellent, guy showed up exactly when he said he would and did a good job and they take credit card over the phone and promptly emailed me an invoice. I won’t hesitate to use them again.

They came to fix my sink when I needed it. They came the very next day and was quick when they fixed it. When they left a noticed my stopper was a little tight and contacted them back. They came right back and fixed the problem and now it works perfectly. I would recommend.

I’ve been thinking about replacing my water heater for the last year as one of the thermostats blew out. Having warm water is not an emergency, but I’m turning my condo into a rental unit and need to have everything at the highest working order for a tenant. Being this wasn’t an emergency, I took time and called around numerous other plumbers in Chicago, including the Home Depot install services and the quotes were waaaaaaay more than I wanted to pay for my short, under the cabinet 35 gallon water heater for my studio condo.
Then I was lucky enough to find Tony at Right Away Plumbing. We scheduled a meeting at my unit to see what the job entailed and he gave me a detailed quote at a price I was in agreement with. He is highly experienced and took the time to really inspect the job and provide insight whereas other plumbers didn’t even want to come by and look. They quoted me over the phone and then made it really clear that other expenses «might» come up as they haven’t seen it. I know what this means… other expenses will come up. Yikes.
Today I got the heater installed and the old one removed. He made it easy to work around my schedule after having to reschedule due to a delay in approval from my condo board. He was easy to get in touch with via text which was extremely helpful. He arrived on time and was professional through the entire project. The job ended up taking the exact time he quoted along with the exact price he quoted — YAY!
Also, as a bonus, I informed him I was preparing to update my kitchen and bath prior to it being a rental and Tony was remarkably helpful in offering up years of experience to making my condo «tenant proof». He had some great ideas and offered brands of faucets and toilets that he as a plumber approves.
I’m extremely happy with the end result and am ecstatic I can finally check this off my list! I will definitely be calling on Tony again when I move into my new condo for some work I’ll need done there.

Awesome service. Our water heater went out and these guys were able to come out within hours to have it replaced. We had Tony as our technician who was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful.
