History

Established in 2003.

After nearly a decade of traveling the country restoring historic churches, state capitols and theaters, Ryan Buman brought his expertise back home to Chicago and started Renaissance Restoration. Seven years later, Renaissance Restoration has helped hundreds of local home and business owners restore their buildings to their original splendor.

Renaissance Restoration works locally and nationally on projects big and small, and we pride ourselves in high-​end craftsmanship.

Ryan has run high-​profile plaster restoration projects in 12 states — from state capitols to universities, from governor’s mansions to historic theaters. Classically trained by a master plasterer from France, Ryan focuses on bringing old-​world techniques and quality craftsmanship to every project. Today, as owner of Renaissance Restoration, he takes the time and care to understand your project, develop a plan that best fits your needs, and ensure the work exceeds even the high standards established by the original artisans of these historic buildings.
