Quest Diagnostics

The worst testing experience I have ever had. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with a condition a while back that forces me to get plenty of blood samples taken. However, because of this, I’ve grown accustomed to how things should be done and what a bad needle job looks like. I went to this quest because the one closer to me was closed and was sorely disappointed. The lady taking my blood was confused on the paper work, butchered my arm (I was unable to bend my elbow for three days) and, when I told her I had a condition that made me pass out if I lost blood too fast, she proceeded to go fast anyways to «get it over with»

Convenient location to get your testing done. They work fast to test people in and out, though making an appointment via the app doesn’t seem to help if the waiting room is full.

Well, after fighting the bill above for 9 months I have given up and finally paid it. It’s ridiculous that they refused to work with my insurance, they refused to respond to my messages attempting to clear up the situation, and they sent the bill to collections without any warning to me. I will NEVER deal with Quest again.

I had to get a metabolic test done here in order to save money on my health insurance premium (done and done! who’s got great blood pressure — i do!) I was not super excited about it, but my nurse/​phlebotomist/​whoever was ridiculously friendly! I know I’m so nice to call her «whoever» but I didn’t catch her name or her title! But she was funny, cheerful, relaxed, and made me feel totally at ease. Three stars though because their scale was broken (not that I enjoy being weighed but you know, they should have that). Also the blood pressure cuff was broken so she had to go find another one. I think she made some offhand comment about how stuff like that happens all the time there (something always broken or missing). So… that’s not good! But they’re definitely friendly! So hey, you win some you lose some.

So, I used to think this was a good spot to drop a little blood or pee. Not so much any more. I recently went in for a random drug screen. After waiting a while, I gave my specimen. But when I handed it over, the tech said that the temperature strip on the cup hadn’t worked. The other senior tech came in and said that I would now have to produce another specimen in the next three hours and I would be unable to leave the lab until I did so. When I objected that this was due to a malfunction on their part, she looked at me like I had two heads and started treating me like I was a three year old. Clearly, they are accustomed to people who are trying to scam the system but she displayed very little understanding that I might have other things to do and that this might pose something of an inconvenience. So after spending the next hour and a half drinking water to the bursting point then being skipped over twice, my second offering was golden… so to speak. «See!» she said. «Everything worked out.» Yeah. Peachy.
