Specialties
Play In A Book is a drama based supplemental reading program for K — 8th grade students available in the classroom or in a home based setting with one on-one or small group instruction. At the core of this highly engaging program is a series of readers. Children hear a story, act it out, and then analyze the story through discussion and comprehension based worksheets. Skills are developed in fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and phonological awareness.
The Act It Read It Series of books (developed by Play In A Book) provide a valuable tool for differentiated instruction, allowing children to work at their own reading ability within the multi-leveled scripts. The series aligns with Common Core Standards and is an effective teaching tool. We work with students in area schools with a comprehensive 30-week enrichment program designed to boost critical reading skills by an overall average of 40%.
