History

Dr. Paul S. Petrungaro is a fellow of the International & American College of Dentists, and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He graduated from Loyola University Dental School in 1986, where he completed an independent study of Periodontics at the Welsh National Dental School in Wales, U.K. Dr. Petrungaro completed his residency in Periodontics and has a specialty certificate in addition to a Masters of Science degree in Periodontics from Northwestern University Dental School. He is the former Coordinator of Implantology for the Graduate Department of Periodontics, North Western University Dental School. Dr. Petrungaro has been in private practice of Periodontics and Implantology since 1988, and holds license in both Illinois and Minnesota.

Dr. Petrungaro holds his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loyola University Dental School and completed a residency, specialty certificate, and Master of Science Degree in Periodontics from Northwestern University Dental School, where he also served as the Coordinator of Implantology for the university’s Graduate Department of Periodontics. He completed an independent study of Periodontics at the Welsh National Dental School in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Petrungaro has shared his vast knowledge and expertise at numerous seminars and lectures worldwide on a wide range of topics in advanced periodontics, bone regeneration, and the study of implants. He has also authored more than 75 articles that have been published in prestigious industry publications like The Compendium, Inside Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Petrungaro is as good as it can get. I went to Dr. Petrungaro a week before going to Europe hoping that he can help me get implants before traveling. As soon as I went, he made time for me in his extremely busy schedule and scheduled my surgery right away. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Petrungaro was so nice and genuine. The surgery took about 3 hours, but to be honest, it felt like it only took half an hour. His hands were so light that I did not even feel the slightest pain. After the surgery, I was expecting extreme pain, but I did not. Not only was Dr. Petrungaro so efficient and amazing, but also so caring! He and his staff kept on calling me to check up on me. Even when I was on my trip, they called me repeatedly to make sure everything was going great! The teeth he had implanted looked perfect and the gum trimming made my smile significantly better.
Now, every time I go for a check up appointment, he and his staff are very warm and welcoming. I have never enjoyed my trip to the «dentist» until I have met Dr. Petrungaro. As a student, his genuine care for his patients, precision, and efficiency inspire me.
He made a 9 month procedure occur in literally a couple of hours. I have already recommended Dr. Petrungaro to so many of my friends and family who are in need of dental implants. He is the best implantologist you will ever be able to find.

When it comes to dental work, the longer you wait to get it fixed, the more damage may occur. I came to Dr. Petrungaro after having many failed root canals, fillings and broken teeth/​crowns all in the back of my mouth over the years. Dr. Paul came up with a plan that best suited me, which involved removing a number of teeth (seven to be exact) all in one day.
Now to most people, this is extreme. I admit it was a lot of work but I trusted I was in good hands. There was swelling as can be expected but I was in little to no pain during and after the procedure. I am happy to have all the procedures done in one location without having to see several doctors. I have healed well and quite quickly.
I am in the process of getting tooth implants and I couldn’t be happier with how everything is going. I have even recommend Dr. Petrungaro to someone in my similar situation. He does amazing work!

After years of anxiety of going to the Dentist I was visiting Chicago and broke a tooth. I was lucky enough to find Dr P. Who saw me quickly. His office staff was warm caring and put me at ease immediately. They took a CT scan and I was amazed that I was not charged for this. The Dr. told me all of my options and I chose to proceed with implants. I suffered with a poor bridge and was thrilled to be given all the information to make a healthy choice for my oral care. I had all four of my implants done the next day. I felt absolutely no pain. My temporaries looked nicer than my bridge ever looked. I travelled back to Ohio the same day and the Dr. Called to make sure I was doing well. This experience has definitely put my lifetime of Dental apprehension to rest. Now two months later I came back to Chicago to continue getting my work completed. My implants have fused beautifully. I can say wholeheartedly that Dr. Petrangaro is the most amazing Dentist I was lucky enough to find. If you are in need of an honest opinion which is with no cost or obligation this is the best decision you can make next to actually doing the work with him.

I am so surprised Dr. Petrungaro does not have more reviews! He is such an incredible doctor and implantologist. He was able to provide me with an immediate dental implant in a fraction of the time other providers quoted me. Not only was he efficient, but his office and staff are very warm and welcoming. No one can tell that I do not have all of my natural teeth, in fact I get more compliments on my smile than I ever did before. Dr. Petrungaro is an amazing doctor and I am not surprised that his learning center teaches other doctors about his procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Petrungaro to anyone in need of dental implants or for any major cosmetic work! He is simply the best!
