Pecan and Charlie’s Mobile Cupcakery

Imagine my surprise when I stepped outside my office in an area empty of food trucks and saw a happy cupcake truck standing in the parking lot. I was overjoyed. Over-freakin’-joyed, I tell ya! I didn’t even care that they were $ 3.50 a cupcake (and not the larger-​sized cupcake, just the regular size). I also didn’t care that they didn’t have a sampler of mini’s available (which many cupcake trucks do).
I stood and waited. Got four cupcake for my team to try and ran back to my office in a hurry to sample. Bleh.
Chocolate Peanut Butter: This cupcake had the most moistness of the four. It was truly fluffy and light chocolate. The frosting was a little heavy and not much on flavor, though it was sprinkled with bits of what looked like peanut butter cups.
Cookie Dough: OK, I have to give them PROPS for putting a cookie dough filling inside the cupcake and keeping it in cookie dough form. Excellent surprise. That was my favorite part of the whole cupcake. The yellow cake was… generic yellow cake. The frosting was another throwaway.
Banana: My coworkers thought this was one of the best. I disagree. Dry cake (which they did agree with, though they were willing to over look it based on liking the banana taste. The only moist part was right where the cake met the frosting. Though I will admit, there was definitely a banana taste, so that great. The frosting was a complete throwaway.
Chocolate Raspberry: This was the most disappointing one. The cake was completely dry. The dough tasted like a generic instant batter. The frosting had a hint of raspberry, but was mostly tasting of butter and disappointment.
Overall, s.a.d. They do have other cupcake options, so maybe try those? I can’t recommend them as you saw above, so maybe try one of their peanut butter cookies?

If you’re fortunate enough to have the Pecan and Charlie’s truck in your corner of the world, count your blessings! The proprietresses are warm, friendly, and most importantly, wonderful bakers!!! They have a wide variety of flavors, so you’re sure to find something to please the palate; the trouble will be choosing which one to eat. (Quick solution: buy an assortment!) My son’ said the cookie dough cupcake was the best he’s ever had. Who better than a kid to give the stamp of approval to a cupcake, right?
