We also DELIVER and stack FIREWOOD. One on one hand drawn design. We also install brick pavers and retention walls. History

Established in 1991.

I started this company when I was a wee lad growing up in Rogers Park. I have been here since 1967 and have grown this company to bigger and better things every year. We have great people who work here that care about there craft. All I can say is stop by and meet us. We are your neighborhood professionals, not a fly by night company. The name, Patch, is derived from my grade school, St. Ignatius parish. This is the grade school I attended and in the early 30’s this area was predominantly jewish, however the «PATCH» of Irish were also here and they attended St. Ignatius and found a home here on the northside of Chicago as did I. There are plenty of companies out there but NO ONE will give you an awesome experince like us. Give us a try you won’t be dissappointed. We will be your company for life.

We had Brian from Patch Landscaping install some brickwork in front of our condo. After deciding on the brick, Brian was able to have the brick installed within a few hours.

Patch did a phenomenal job on my town home in Rogers Park. They took down vines that wrapped around the building, removed weeds and landscaped the yard with low maintenance plants. They were on time, friendly and went above and beyond what was quoted. Thanks to the team for their hard work!

I called Patch on a Thursday for an estimate on a mid-​summer yard and garden clean up. The response was quick. I received the estimate the next day (Friday), and was able to set up an appointment to have the work done that Tuesday. The crew was on time, polite, and the work was done to my specifications. I now have a fully weeded, trimmed, pruned, mulched, clean yard and garden that look fabulous!

Good luck getting this place to actually give you an estimate or return your call. I left 2 voicemails in the early fall inquiring about snow removal for our condo building, even once speaking to a live person who forwarded me to someone’s voicemail, and never got a call back. I even tried email. I also called them again in the late winter about lawn care for the spring — shocker, no return call. Forget these jokers.

They did a good job with the lawn and regularly taking care of the basics. However, it has been hard to get them to respond on taking care of other services we had signed. Was supposed to provide Fall clean-​up and now say no record of our property. Just sort of frustrating in finding a reliable and responsive lawn care company.

This is an update on a previous review in which I raved about Patch. I have since changed that perspective. They are mismanaged and unprofessional. Their landscapers do not perform the work asked of them, and apparently just refuse to do certain tasks. I have had the same issue for several years and with nagging it gets done, but that should not be necessary. Like another reviewer, they have missed appointments and failed to return calls. When we do get through-​they claim their answering system is down. I have used them for MANY years and also referred customers. I am sorry that I did that and will likely be shopping for a company that is run by adults.

So disappointed. Talked to the person answering the phones. We set up time for patch to give an estimate. They never showed up. I called again. Still never heard from them. Do not count on patch if you want the job done.

I called them in September 2013 for a quote for snow removal for our condo building. I gave the address and was told that they would come the next day to look at the lot and supply a quote. A week later, after hearing nothing, I called again. Again, I was told that they would email a quote. However, no quote ever came.

I called to get an estimate on a spring clean up and to have some work done in the back yard. I was informed that the estimator would need to call me. Matt called several days later and left me a message stating that he would need to come out to the house for the estimate. I called him back promptly and left him a message providing several days and times that I would be available. He never called me back!

I’m surprised with some of the reviews that I’m reading here. I’ve been using Patch’s services for third year in a row. A while ago my neighbor, who was very satisfied with their service, recommended Patch Landscaping and Snow Removal and since then I’m their loyal client. I’m using their service every season. I’m very satisfied with their service and I never had a single reason to complain about. Their service is fast and efficient. They are doing their job very carefully so everything looks just great. In addition to their excellent service, people working at Patch’s are hardworking and extremely friendly. I’m so glad that my neighbor recommended to me this company.

3 of us next door neighbors re-​sodded our back yards and hired Patch. They worked quickly and at first appeared to do a good job. We all watered meticulously. 3 months after the sod was laid, all our lawns began to get destroyed by grubs. Patch came out when one of us complained, and the answer given was that the lawn had grubs and needed to use a pesticide. Turns out, our whole area is known to have grubs. Patch did not contact any of the rest of us or follow up to ask how our lawn was coming along. When they saw 3 houses in a row have the same problem they washed their hands of it and said there was nothing they could do.
One of us neighbors had the money to pay another landscaper to resod his yard again. It was then that this landscaper explained that fertilizer and anti grub treatment should always be placed in the topsoil under the sod because the grub problem is everywhere and any landscaper should know that.
For our part we threw $ 2000 down the drain for nothing.

We are in our second year with Patch Landscaping and I felt it was necessary to write an updated review. For whatever reason, this season has not been good. It began last fall when the leaves were consistently blown into the sewer causing it to be clogged.
Fast forward to the «Spring Clean-​up» and I have to say it and the weekly service we have received have been quite a let down. I have spoken to several people there including the site supervisor and the service has not improved. I am not sure what has happened there, but the results are not good.

I was appointed to write this review for 2 separate households. Both are old & have wide & deep lots, & both needed a lot of help. The 1st had overgrown bushes & shrubs, which Patch pruned & shaped to give this pretty white house a lot of «curb appeal». The 2nd has a prairie garden, front & back, filled with invasive plants & weeds. Last Friday evening, June 3rd, after hours of heavy physical labor, the properties look wonderful. Matt, the manager, said that he & his Patch crew would take care of everything & they did. We are all very happy with their work & will continue to use them.

My family has used Patch’s services for a couple of years now and have never had any issues with them. Every time we have needed their services they have been great about setting up appointments and always do a good job. We had a rotting tree in our backyard and needed it uprooted and they came in the next day and the job was finished the same day. We started using them because they are a local Rogers Park business but after working with them for a while now, they deserve my business for more reason than just being close.

These guys are horrible. Hired patch for spring cleanup and they didn’t show up for four different dates set by them. They finally showed up after I called them and canceled. They didn’t even finish the project and billed me three times (they continue to send me bills but will not call me back when I contact them) our agreed price and when I called to questioned them about this they refused to talk to me. I have requested to speak with the owner several times and have yet to receive a phone call. I had to hire another landscaping company to finish what patch started.

Every year I have a Halloween tradition, I go to Sonny Acres for pumpkin picking and what not. Unfortunately this year I just didn’t have the time which was really upsetting. I had time to carve pumpkins just not the long drive there and back. After much sulking I finally remembered a place near by called Patch. It’s located just north of Peterson on Ridge on the right side; if you weren’t looking you would miss it. There isn’t much to the place because it’s a lot for a landscaping business that just happens to sell pumpkins and Christmas trees on the holidays. But it’s got that neighborhood charm to it, family run and family friendly. I was surprised at how full it was for a Sunday afternoon, even still I was able to look over all the pumpkins without any interference. They also give you coupons for your next visit. Not bad at all, I think I know where I’m getting my Christmas tree!

We arranged for Patch Landscraping to remove a half-​dead bush from our back yard. It was easy to schedule with them; we didn’t even have to be home when they arrived to do the job! Friendly and affordable service. I would have given them five stars, except they didn’t show up on the day we had originally arranged, but when contacted, they did show up the very next day.
