Optimal Health Chiropractic and Rehabilitation was established in 2012 by Dr. Eric Smith. Since its inception, Dr. Smith has hired on addition practitioners with various specialties to accommodate nearly any chiropractic need and achieve optimal health for his patients.

Dr. Eric Smith achieved his Doctorate of Chiropractic as well as a bachelor’s degree in Life Science from Logan Chiropractic College in Chesterfield, Missouri. Along with his two degrees from Logan, Dr. Smith is also recognized as an Internal Health Specialist. Dr. Smith has a passion for helping his patients not only achieve structural health, but also internal health by dealing with the stresses that are put on the body by today’s poor food sources and environmental stressors.

By having a specialization in Internal Health, Dr. Smith has had the opportunity to help many patients take better control of their health through proper nutrition, digestion and utilization of the food they eat. With the decline of quality food sources and increase in the availability of poor food choices, Dr. Smith makes it a personal goal to help treat anyone that suffers from conditions associated with diet and digestion.

I highly recommend Dr. Callista Lay! At my first visit for intense right hip pain, her original thought was that my back was causing the problem. She focused acupuncture, ultra sound and eventually a machine to reduce spinal compression and quickly moved me back into a pain free zone! I had visited another chiropractor who was unable to help me. An orthopedic surgeon diagnosed me with inflammation of the hip bursa and gave me a cortisone shot – which did help briefly. Dr. Lay found the root of the problem and solved the issue! She is very knowledgeable, skilled, caring and intuitive. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a Unilocal review — Dr. Lay is an amazing practitioner and human being!

Since March 2014 I’ve been experiencing pain in my back, I had an X-​ray and was told I had a protruding disc in my neck and that I couldn’t do anymore 5k obstacle courses and I was supposed to be careful while working out. IF I had a fall or injury it could cause me to lose the use of my legs or bladder control. Well that scared me so I stopped, honestly I stopped living and accepted the pain. I realized one day I was moving like a turtle.
Musculoskeletal and Neuromusculoskeletal disorders was not something talked about at my dinner table so I never thought about a chiropractor for care. But I knew doing the same thing over and over expecting different results was insane. I logged into my medical plan website and came across the name of Callista Lay; Chiropractor. I made my appointment, and was hesitant due to my previous experience, with an orthopedic doctor, physical training and my internist, but I pressed forward and I’m so glad I did.
Fast forward to today, my pain is minimal compared to 2 weeks ago. Dr. Callista Lay is fantastic. When she told me «I have a plan but first I want to tackle the pain». I was shocked because I thought this pain, and walking slow was my new norm. But in the hands of Dr. Lay I’m moving faster and almost pain free. This past Saturday I was back in the park and I walked 3.2 miles and I’m happy. Now this is my experience and yours might be different, but if you don’t go you can’t experience this fantastic practice.
I am so excited to share with you all this experience, but I don’t want this review to be too long, however, if you are seeking a chiropractor, conveniently located in the lower level of Willis Tower or a weight loss program this office has something for you. Honestly they might offer more, that I don’t know of being that this is only my 2nd week. I’ve talked about my experience let me mention the office; the office lighting is bright, and you are greeted with care as you enter. They appreciate and respect your time, if your appointment is at 4, the doctor will be out to greet you timely. They have the coolest sign in procedure very high tech to me, but it might be something you are familiar with. Hannah and her colleague are ready to greet you or to schedule your consult trust me you won’ t be disappointed.

I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Smith! He came to our facility on Wacker Dr. for a health fair, and not once harassed people with sales calls. They geninuely want to help people get out of pain, but they also always ask about your life and how you feel.
I go once a month for my neck and lower back, and I always leave feeling so much better than when I came in. My appointments are usually less than 10 minutes, so it is perfect on my lunch break!
Dr. Smith actually practices what he preaches too in the sense of diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle. I highly recommend him to anyone in pain, looking to lose weight, wanting to be healthier, etc.

This is an excellent, very well run practice. Dr. Smith’s approach to his care for patients is the best I’ve seen, and his staff is also top notch. They clearly know their stuff inside and out, and will tailor a plan specific to a patient’s needs that will get results and improve quality of life and wellness.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they outgrow their space sometime in the near future – this is by far the best chiropractic/​rehabilitation clinic I’ve ever come across.

I hurt my back near the end of March — not sure how but I think I tried to overdo it at the gym. It got so bad that I could barely get out of bed. It hurt to sit, stand, lay down.
I finally decided to ask around and a friend recommended Meridian. They were able to see me the same week. I won’t go into too much detail other than these people perform miracles! I can get up without pain. Work all day without pain. And now I can even run without pain.
Dr. Smith is amazing. He seems to really care about helping me improve my health and get me back to running. Each time I see him, I feel exponentially better than when I walked in.
Kayla (not sure that’s the spelling) is very sweet and also seems like she really cares about the patients that come in. She talks you through each procedure so you know what is going on and aren’t nervous.
I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t go to Dr. Smith’s office. Walking in that door is one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’m now pain free and working on getting an underlying problem fixed.
I would recommend Optimal Health to EVERYONE.
