I sent a Unilocal message this weekend about getting a quote. The door to our garage would not close — it just springs back out and even when we hold it closed we cannot get the deadbolt or knob lock to latch. If/​when we can get a key in it hurts like hell to try to turn and then we can barely get it back out.
I heard from a company rep at 7am Monday morning. I wrote back and then someone called to talk through the issues and he said they had availability today (TODAY!) between 10 – 12. To my surprise, a very skilled gentleman, Brandon, came out. We talked through options and while I thought I may need to replace everything, he let me know that the keys I currently have should work as long as the door and locks are aligned. In just a short time he fixed everything! My keys work like a charm (who knew) and the price was very reasonable. He gave me additional tips when explaining everything which I also thought was great.
Additionally, he offered recommendations for security installations on our front gate. We just moved into a new SF home in the city. We have two gates in front and while there are locks on each, there aren’t metal pieces installed to prevent someone from putting their arm in and unlocking the gate. He gave a few options including some cost effective technology to view visitors and «buzz» them in as well as a mechanical key pad option. Brandon was very thoughtful and skilled. We are definitely considering having him come back to install the security recommendations.

The gentleman working here was very courteous and honest. They told me they couldn’t do the cut I needed, but were gracious enough to recommend General Lock.

Patrick, the locksmith, was very professional, polite, and efficient. I had four locks to rekey and he was done in under an hour. However, compared to other locksmiths in the area they are bit overpriced. Also, I was unable to pull up my Unilocal app to get the $ 10 discount, and rather than take it on good faith that I would provide them a 5 star review, which needs to be written at the time of invoicing so they can take a picture of it for proof, their «policy» did not afford me that luxury. They do warn you of that at the time you schedule the appointment, but I did not anticipate having the troubles I experienced. That is the biggest reason for only three stars.

Called Nonstop to install a deadbolt to an interior door and to figure out a way to make the front door to our business more secure. The technician, Brandon did a phenomenal job. Onsite, he made a metal plate and completed the installation. Truly a custom piece. The door is more secure than ever!

I came in today to look at the safes because I was interested in buying one for my gun. When I arrived, Jose greeted me with such kindness. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I took a picture of the safe and sent it to my friend and he will be coming in as well. I forgot to mention When I called to ask about the safes Ruby was very polite on the phone

I called Non-​Stop about a broken doorknob on the front door of my condo. I called on a weeknight, around 7pm. Appointment was easily scheduled for the following afternoon. Our technician, Chris, was awesome. He was right on time (actually called to let me know he was in the neighborhood a little early, which worked out great). He was very professional and friendly. He talked me through what was wrong, offered a couple options, as well as his recommendation for the best fix. About 30 minutes later, I had a brand new, working doorknob that used my existing keys — which was really nice. Problem was completely fixed within less than 24 hours of me calling for an appointment. Thanks to Chris and Non-​Stop for a job well-​done!

I needed to get a copy of my house key made. I went in and David greeted me with a smile and he asked what I needed. He made me two copies and I was in and out in no time!

Reviews looked great took 80 mins to get there after they told me 30 and charged me $ 145 to get in my apartment. Not impressed won’t use again.

A couple weeks ago on a FRIDAY… almost at 5pm, my husband and I closed the door, and realized, we both didn’t have the key. I may or may not have flipped out. I HATE paying for things that can be avoided, but you know, this is life. So, thank the Lord I had my cell phone and was able to look up places! I called another place… somewhere in Wicker Park but no one responded, and so thankfully Nonstop Locksmith responded at my first call, and literally within 10 – 15 minutes Chris showed up.
Now, I will say that apparently our lock was VERY stubborn, and Chris couldn’t just pry it open, he had to basically use the big guns (aka HUGE drill) to drill through the ENTIRE lock. So to get in our house, it took him awhile, but he said this was the 2^nd hardest lock he ever had to get through. He was super social and explained everything he was doing, as well, we were just sitting on the steps seeing what he was doing. Good job Chris.
Everything went smoothly, except for the fact that he lost the check we wrote. BUT, it was really easy in getting it to him and he gave us a coupon for a discount next time if we ever had any issues again (REALLY HOPE this doesn’t happen!), and he was very apologetic about it and worked around our schedule.
The price I think was fair even though of course, you never want to pay for getting locked out of your house…:)

Stopped in today to get duplicates made. Kevin helped me out and I felt I had great service! He was very nice and conversational, got the job done super quick, and even gave me key rings (which at some places they charge extra for, lame). Very satisfied, would come back again, and recommend to friends!

I never heard of this place before but I guarantee you one thing… I will never forget them!
On one of the most coldest nights just after a major Chicago snowstorm, I had locked the spare key in my van, along with my main set of keys in the ignition, while the vehicle was running.
I was frantic to get some help but with such frigid temps nobody was up to helping unlock my van using the old wire hanger method. We couldn’t find a durable wire hanger since Joan Crawford banned most of them long ago. Seriously it was a no win situation this night.
I was referred to Nonstop Locksmith… and I was so happy… Most locksmiths you call in emergencies are, in my opinion, con artists ready to rip you off… Most only take cash because they want to pocket their loot, minus paying legit taxes… and most would easily walk away because you don’t have enough cash or a credit card. No empathy or concern from most of them… Nonstop Locksmith outshines them all!!!
Nonstop took my business check! They sent out Brandon to me… OMG! … Easy on the eyes, so nice, radio voice, empathetic, quick and professional… You just wanted to take him home! … but too bad he was Str8… :) Nonstop Locksmith arrived in the 15 minutes they said it would take. Reasonable prices too!

One week ago at this time, I was locked in my apartment locked out on my balcony. Yes, this is possible and happened!
My husband and I recently adopted an adorable pup, Ralph, to mark our first wedding anniversary. As a new addition to our family, we’re still getting to know each other.
My husband was out of town last week. Ralph and I were just about to settle in for the evening. I stepped out on to the balcony and closed the sliding glass down behind me. Ralph, in what I imagine was an effort to join me, jumped up on the sliding glass door. On his way down, Ralph hit the door’s lock with his paw. Locked in and out simultaneously!
Panic set in as it was chilly last Monday evening and my phone was running low on battery. I tried for longer than I should’ve to jiggle, pry, and pray my way back into our apartment.
Finally, I texted my husband a short message asking for our landlord’s phone number. He panicked and called immediately. I gave him the quick version of my dilemma. And, then, my phone died.
Enter lifer-​saver Tim. After what seemed like a life time, a voice asked my name from my front gate entry. Leaning over, I replied, ‘I’m here.’. About 40 minutes later Tim came bounding through my small apartment, flicked his finger, and welcomed me back into my own place.
Tim was extraordinarily kind and patient. He allowed me to call my worried husband from his phone and made pleasant small talk with me. Little does he know how much I welcomed this as I’m pretty sure this was the only thing keeping me from crying!

I found nonstop on Unilocal and decided to give them a try after reading the reviews. I wasn’t disappointed. I just bought a house and was anxious to change the locks. I made an appointment and they gave me a 3 hour window. The day of, I called to confirm the appointment (not a good start considering they said they would call the day before to confirm) and they told me they would try to get someone out there sooner.
Low and behold Victor from nonstop showed up within 30 min saving my afternoon. Victor was professional and thorough and got the job done fairly quickly. He tried to get me a couple of extra copies of keys, but had a problem with the keycutter in his work truck (bummer).
Victor apologized and said that I could get free copies of the keys at the store if I had time. I thanked him and went in celebration mode so I never made it to the store.
The following day I stopped by the shop and met Montez. Montez rememebered Victor calling about me and told me he would take care of me. While waiting for my keys, I saw a nice safe for sale, but didnt see a price. Montez had trouble finding the price, but eventually sold me the display model at cost saving me about $ 50.
I highly recommend nonstop. They’re attentive, professional, courteous, and don’t try to oversell you. I added them to my contacts in my phone for future reference.
