01÷01÷2016− How dare you post my personal information on the internet? You have been threatening a lawsuit for months and I have not been served. This review and what you did not do for our events will forever haunt you! Now lets see who really has a lawsuit, posting my personal information online? Your goal was to make me delete my review of your horrible company and your horrible services. You are a liar, idiot and a cheat! You tried to steal from the financial provider and our vendors. Doesn’t matter who you were in contract with the person you mentioned was not the person providing the financial support for this event!!! So which one is it?

Anything you read here is solely based on my experience with Nasarus and no one else. As a consumer I have a right to my review, I have a right to write the details of my experiences with Ms. Hailey.
On July 24, we contracted with Nasarus Event Planning/​Susan Hailey to help us execute two events in the Chicago area. Myself and my co-​host (let’s call her Karen) of the Guest of Honor (GOH) were both hosting the event, but neither of us live in the Chicago area, so we had to find an event planner and Susan Hailey and her company came highly recommended to us.
Prior to contacting Nasarus in 2 days, Karen and I had found a venue Galley Guichard, caterer (Clark Catering referred by Guichard), entertainers, DJs, photographer and a transportation service. After speaking to Clark Catering I knew Konyia Clark was the caterer we needed for our events. Konyia understood our vision and she also had a friend much like our GOH who was loved by many and wanted to make sure we celebrated her the best way we could.
After our initial email and phone call with Susan Hailey, she also seemed to have an understanding of what we were trying to accomplish. Susan Hailey did not like our choice of a venue, I now believe because the gallery is owned by African Americans, and she wanted us to use one of her vendors so she could receive referral fees. Karen and I not knowing the area put our trust in Susan and we allowed her to find us another venue. In emails we expressed to Susan we wanted to have the event at an «art gallery, cool loft, mansion, etc. Prefer to have a unique location for the birthday– not a restaurant». In our initial emails and discussions with Susan from 07÷25−07÷31 we sent to Susan many emails with pictures to use as examples of our vision. We invited Susan to view our Pinterest boards we had created and basically completely laid out both events for her.
One of the locations we had researched prior to speaking to Susan was Revel, however Susan said to us «we have requested information in the past from Revel and we were sent animated pictures and close ups of sea food. Their venues were rehabbed in an effort turn into venue space. They charge high and the rooms are set up like a dining room… We will be happy to check as it is an option… But must say I do not feel comfortable with them at all…»
Our interaction with Nasarus/​Susan Hailey was absolutely disastrous, as of today, she has not paid the caterer, when we paid Nasarus in full not only for the caterer but everyone involved.
In the screen shot is a reply from Susan Hailey after we sent her an email stating what we believed to be what was needed for a flawless execution of our events. Also, we increased our budget by $ 4k.
This review could become extremely long and cumbersome, but Unilocal HQ sent me an email saying they needed my review to include details, so here they go:
Initial contact with Susan Hailey– Susan comes off as someone who knows her business, the pictures on her website would also allow you to believe she is a professional. But we soon found out through missed deadlines and no follow up on specifics we requested, that Susan Hailey was not a professional and somehow managed to run a lack luster unprofessional business. The photos on her site must be purchased from Getty Images, because we are unable to believe she can pull together a 5 year old tea party. Susan Hailey became an absolute procrastinator full of excuses as to why she could not do the job she was hired for. Not once did Susan EVER say to us she would be unable to execute our event with the amount of time she had and the budget she was given. This should have been the time for her to tell us she only puts together $ 100, 000 events and our event was too small for her. But Susan Hailey is no David Tutera, she is a con artist.

It’s very rare occassion when you can give a collegue a true and genuine endorsement; and Susan is that rare occasion. Her attention to detail and desire to exceed her clients expectations is why I can call her a collegue.
She’s able to execute your event with precision while keeping your budget and resources in mind. Her patience to help her clients rationalize every step of the way exemplary! I love working with her and look forward to when we can work together again.

This was the worst event I have ever attended and executed by a so called professional. Beware of poor communication. Inept execution by seemingly clueless assistants, misrepresentation of what will be done even after emails showing what was planned or chosen. How do you expect to execute an event if you’re not there. Thank goodness for excellent friends with a design sense and materials. Do not hire. Be warned. Don’t pay in full before execution. Have specific details in contract and hold her to it. Susan is an abomination for an event planner. She was hired for a birthday celebration and a shower all in one weekend. Flowers which had wilted were reused for second event. No decorating or favors. Cheap plastic containers and the most inept assistant. Horrible horrible service. Susan is also a liar and inflammatory in her comments on FB. this is not over.

If I could give a NEGATIVE STAR rating, I would for Susan Hailey and her company Nasarus Productions Event Planning & Management. I wanted to write this review while my wedding was still very fresh (2 days fresh) in my mind so future brides are aware! My husband and I decided to hire Susan in March 2015 for Day of Services. Susan went SOUR once the wedding weekend happened. Two weeks prior, my mother and I were nervous due to a lack of communication (and proofs/​pictures) regarding gift boxes and paper goods after numerous attempts to receive that information. Once the weekend began, Susan’s inability to coordinate and communicate was extremely evident and fully disappointing.
*False Promises:
1.Prior to the wedding, Susan had told my husband and I that she was going to direct our guests to her company’s website showing things to do in Chicago, where to sightsee, restaurants to check out, and events going on that weekend. Wedding weekend comes, and NOTHING. No mention of this service.
2.Signage for the Ketuba Signing Room– Yes, something small, but Susan had requested an easel to place a sign for those guests involved in this intimate ceremony. Wedding weekend comes, and NOTHING. No mention of this service.
3.Day Before Setup– This is a biggie: Susan had directly told my husband, my mother, and I that she would be staying after the wedding rehearsal to begin putting the chair covers on each chair. On the day of the rehearsal, Susan told me she had to leave to attend another wedding, and would be back the next morning to begin setting up. As far as conducting the actual rehearsal, Susan watched me get the bridal party in line and practice walking in and out. She was provided a copy of the script, and was asked to facilitate the rehearsal.
4.Day Of Coordinating/​Communication– Susan and her assistant (who was very helpful), began the day by starting with the chair covers. A couple of my family members were monitoring how that was being handled, and soon realized that there was a HUGE error with timelines communicated between Susan and our florist. The florist was given the wrong date/​time to deliver everything, and once the groom spoke to her on the phone, everything was fine. Again, major miscommunication from Susan’s part. As the day moved on, in order to obtain perfection for the ceremony and reception, Susan needed my brother and sister-​in-​law to direct her for each task. Before the Ketuba Signing ceremony, I was told that Susan and her assistant would be leaving at 8:00 PM. Per contract and «wedding packet», Susan had specified that she would be at the event for the entire time. Once the reception was over, she was supposed to assist with the cleanup process and remove the chair covers. I spoke with her prior to the ceremony about this situation, and she said that she could stay until 10:00 PM and then changed it to 11:00 PM. In reality, the last time I saw her was when my husband and I were introduced into the reception hall. This was within the 8 PM hour. At the end of the night, Susan was nowhere to be seen, and vendors (including hotel management) asked my husband and me what to do with everything. In our wedding packet, Susan had outlined that she would coordinate the transition of our floral arrangements from the reception room to the day after brunch room. Clearly, this was not done since she was nowhere to be found. On another note, although she apologized, Susan’s attire was inappropriate for a black-​tie affair.
5.Day After Communication– My husband and I called Susan to discuss some of these concerns and financials questions that we had. Susan was unable to take constructive feedback from us, and argued each point that we had made. After approximately 20 minutes of talking, Susan hung up on me while trying to discuss any follow up that was needed.
*Gift Boxes: Based on Susan’s documented contract, those were supposed to delivered by Thursday, ⁹⁄₃. Reality– Boxes were delivered at 2:30 PM on Friday ⁹⁄₄. Now, that doesn’t sound too bad, but a lot of our guests had already checked in. In addition– the boxes were a completely different color, the contents were poorly put together, and the itinerary of the wedding weekend was completely wrong. Just a side note, we had requested a brochure of events going around in the city; Susan placed a brochure into the boxes that discussed a festival coming up on a different weekend in September.
* Paper Goods: One of the documents had the wrong wedding date printed on it and the wedding programs had 3 mistakes. When asked to reprint the programs, Susan told one of my family members that she didn’t have access to a printer during this weekend. Instead, those guests that were mentioned in in the program were disrespected due the grammatical errors when addressing their formal names.
If there’s one piece of advice I can offer to you brides, DON’T CALL SUSAN HAILEY @ NASURUS PRODUCTIONS EVENT PLANNING & MANAGEMENT.
