My Storage Suite

This company strives to make your life easier. I was in a rush to pack up my apartment to move out and Storage Suite truly delivered. They went out of there way on a few hours notice to personally drop off boxes and tape that I desperately needed. Best of all it didn’t burn a hole in my pocket.

This is really a good storage company. They communicate a lot with clients and are very patient. They also provide many choices for me. I highly recommend My Suite Storage~!

I would give a zero if I could. Stay away this is an absolute scam. When I moved out of Aqua they were pitching down in the lobby about «Sold!» looking for furniture to sell. I had many items including an antique hutch worth thousands I did not/​could not bring with and thought this was great. I mean they were allowed to make the pitch in my lobby, they had to be legit right? I paid $ 50 for a mover of theirs to move things to their area in Aqua about 4 months ago. Recently received an email saying they could not sell my things and the choice was to come get them, rent one of their units, or donate them. I have no place for these items, never did and they knew that. Not interested in renting a storage unit or would have done that before. So I said donate them and let me know where they go. PEOPLE there is no donation — they are giving my things to the same people that moved them out. SCAM. THIEVES. DO NOT FALL FOR THE SAME TRAP.

In Oct 2015, I consigned 3 mid-​century Knoll chairs designed by Charles Pollack and a mid-​century Stiffle Lamp to mystoragesuite. Items were to remain on my premises with notification to me if any buyers were interested. There were minimum selling prices assigned to each item totaling $ 7980.00 with 30% commission to mystorage suite. In November of 2015, Robert contacted me requesting to «borrow» the furniture for a few weeks so he could include them in an Open House for Designers. In mid December, he said (via phone call) the items would be returned in a couple of weeks. On February 1^st, after I placed several calls & emails, I finally spoke with Robert. He told me all the items were sold at auction, and they had just finished reconciling the messy paperwork they received from the Auction house. He said he would check back with me in a couple of days to arrange payment to me. My portion of the sale totals $ 5596. I placed several more calls and emails to Robert with no reply. I tried visiting mystoragesuite several times, and on March 18^th was successful at finding Robert in the office. He checked the auction records and told me all items sold for a total of $ 210. I told him that he owes me the full amount I contracted for. He gave me a check for $ 210 and said he would need to discuss the situation with his business partners before he could issue the remainder due. He said I would get the full payment less the $ 210. I told him I expected to hear from him the following week. I didn’t. On March 30^th, I emailed Robert and asked when I could pick up the check, or he could pay me via Paypal. No reply. On March 31, I emailed his office assistant Dayana (Robert told me on Feb 1 Dayana was working on payouts), and asked for her assistance. I also said the next correspondence about this would be from my lawyer. I decided to contact BBB first. MY STORAGE SUITE DIDN’T EVEN RESPOND TO THE BBB!!! DON’T EVER GIVE ANYTHING TO THEM ON CONSIGNMENT. YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY. I’M NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS HAPPENED TO EITHER.

Stay away, far, far away! My friend entrusted these people with her lovely, gently worn furniture as well as with her parents’ fairly valuable furniture for their resale service. She never heard back from them regarding her furniture. Finally, after months of phone calls and letters she received a check for three hundred dollars, a fraction of what she could have received from Craig’s List. But the most insulting sale of all was that of her parents’ furniture. Again, after many months of persistent phone calls, emails, and letters, her parents were told that their furniture had sold for 2,000 dollars approximately. However, the shipping cost was 1800 dollars, thus they received a lump sum of 200 dollars. I know that this review might sound like hearsay, as it was not my personal experience, but I know my friend well, I have followed the saga from beginning to end, and I saw the checks. She does not Unilocal, so I feel that it is my responsibility to warn the public. Stay away.

I gave my apartment furniture to the Sold! Program in October and they just vanished. I did receive one email reply after repeated injuries in November telling me nothing had sold. I have tried contacting them since then and I get no response. They came and moved a lot of furniture to sell. I could never find a web site with my items for sale. I did not receive any money for the consignment. I fell likes victim of a crime.

It’s really good, but I am concerned about when I had my trunk redelivered after I returned from travelling. It was resolved quickly, but it was attempted to charge me after I had already paid the full balance with a Groupon. I was also attempted to be charged for delivery since it was «outside of lake shore east,» which, as far as I can tell, is not a real thing.
I had a problem with the delivery. For some reason, only one guy was sent with a very full and heavy trunk. He unloaded it, but then asked me to unpack it from the sidewalk and carry everything inside right then! I cannot do that… He said «we usually only deliver to places with elevators.» Uh, okay… There are 5 steps. Sorry I’m not rich and living in a high rise. That’s the feeling that I got. Thankfully, I had a male friend nearby to help carry it up to my place and we quickly unpacked it (I wish I had had more time to unpack it… everything was in a mess in the living room).
Anyway, I’m not sure if this is representative of the business as a whole or just a fluke. I got all my stuff back perfectly, and the trunk came with a free lock to use so you needn’t purchase your own. Good prices.
Update 10÷6÷15: 2 Stars, because now they have charged me an additional month after I’ve stopped using the trunk. Ugh.

This is not your typical self-​storage place. Robert, the owner, has gone above and beyond to help me, usually on last-​minute notice, to arrange movers and secure the freight elevator to move some of my larger items into storage. He has even dropped what he was doing on more than one occasion and insisted on helping me unload a carful of items I was moving into my unit. The cost of the storage is very reasonable, especially considering the customer service you get in return, which is unheard of at other storage places.

My Storage Suite makes cleaning your messy closet PAINLESS. Can’t give enough positive feedback about this company. I learned of MSS through advertising in my building (The Tides in Lakeshore East) and am so glad I called them. Robert, the founder of MSS, is highly professional and attentive. He helped me clear out a messy closet in minutes, and THEN helped neatly pack away my excess belongings in a storage bin which was taken to the MSS storage locker quite minutes away from my building. The monthly fee is negligible and the benefit of making more living space is priceless. Thanks MSS team. — Kate L.
