Metro Self Storage

These guys are awesome. I talked to Brian on the phone and Alicia helped me in person and both were so great and super accommodating and helpful. I’m not sure what I was expecting, probably some typical shifty Chicago wise guy nonsense, with up-​sell pressure and all that, but it was the exact opposite. They were super helpful, and really wanted me to get the proper storage unit, and get the right deal for it too.
Also, the facility is top notch. Very clean and well lit. I’m extremely happy with my experience with them.

We have had a storage unit here for about 10 years. It’s a great spot… easily accessible and very clean and it has covered parking! Nice temperature controlled unit so you don’t have to worry about your belongings degrading with the fluctuations in temperature. The staff is supper friendly and helpful. Brian and Alicia I have both dealt with… mostly Brian and he is great in person and on the phone. They don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them in least when you call with questions. I have had two other storage units in different parts of the county and this is the nicest one.

I have been utilizing the storage at Metro Self Storage for several years now and could not be happier with the customer service. Everyone that I have dealt with at MSS is wonderful, especially the manager Brian.
The facility is easy to get to, clean and the plenty of parking. I have a few friends that use MSS and they are just as happy with the service there as well.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great storage place in Chicago.

Love this place! 2^nd time Tennant and they are well maintained, easy to do business with and great location! Brian is the manager and pretty cool dude! Very helpful, nice and again the space is projected and maintained well.

Brian was great he was efficient and friendly. The facility is awesome lots of room easy access, clean and plenty of parking.

Bryan and the team over at Metro Self Storage go above and beyond to accommodate their customers. The storage facility is clean, safe, and easy to access with an incredible location. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable storage in the downtown Chicago area.

A better storage facility would be hard to find… clean, well-​run, helpful staff. Brian, the manager, is courteous, knowledgeable, and ready to lend a hand, as is his assistant. Facility is easily accessible… day/​night, yet professionally protected. Highly recommend.

This is my first time using self storage, and what I can say is that Bryan, the store manager, is fantastic. You’re renting a box at the end of the day, but moving etc can be stressful and the logistics can be frustrating. Bryan is a top notch manager who makes this as easy as possible (and balances some pretty tough customers based on what I’ve seen).

Best storage experience in Chicagoland, period! Super clean, convenient to downtown, safe, covered parking and a great staff. Why can’t the others take a hint?
On top of it all, WINDOWS, so your visit won’t feel like you’re walking into a dungeon. Newer building was constructed for office space so every floor feels open and airy. Add a shower and wi-​fi and I may just move in.

I cannot say enough good things about Metro Storage and in particular Brian. The place is spotless, and the gracious customer service makes you always feel welcome. They are simply the best.

Great storage facility and customer service! I rented a 5×10 unit to store my furniture and boxes from my convertible studio in the interim before I move into my new place and this was the cheapest option I could find. The first month was only $ 1 (yes…a BUCK!), which came out to $ 30 something with the initiation fee, insurance, etc. After signing all the paperwork and paying for my first month, I was actually nervous that the 5×10 unit wouldn’t be big enough to store my things and called Metro Storage about switching to a bigger unit. The man I spoke to on the phone was really nice and told me that it would be the same price to just add an additional unit if I needed it, which was really smart and saved me some money since I didn’t end up needing the second unit.
However, I did dock 1 star because my movers weren’t allowed to pull up right to the door, which made it harder for them to move my stuff and took them longer than they anticipated. My unit was also really far from the elevator and it was like navigating through a maze trying to get to it. Considering how large the building is, it would make sense to have more than one elevator location, so customers can move their stuff more easily. The temperature in the building was also a little warmer than I thought it would be considering it is climate controlled.
Overall, I think that Metro Storage is a great value and would definitely recommend them for your storage needs, especially if it’s short term.

Brian has been with me for many of the turning points in my life. It all started back in 06′-07′ when my then GF and I decided we would move in together. This was a huge step for both of us, being that we had to combine both houses.
After doing our research we found Metro Storage. my GF was new to the city and we wanted a storage unit we could access with ease and that was close to our place. We rented a unit and the rest is history.
Fast forward, a couple years later, we bought our first place together, which then we were able to house all of our stored items in our new house.
We married, then I got the big promotion, which when my company needed me to secure a storage unit in the market for our supplies. I quickly reached out to Brian.
Brian found my company a unit on the first floor and we have been with them since then.
To summarize Brian and Alicia will have any business I have moving forward. I know that I can count on them for all of my storage needs, and they are the consummate professionals and know how to provide the proper customer service.

I purchased a box of wrapping paper from these guys for a recent move. Little did I know that my friend had left over paper from his move and let me have it. Therefore I didn’t need the $ 17 in moving paper I’d purchased. I went back a week or so after my move to return the UNOPENED box of paper WITH THE RECEIPT and was told that I had to eat the cost of the paper! I’ve already moved, what do I need packing paper for? In my mind $ 17 is a cocktail or lunch at Protein Bar. I want my money back!

The storage manager Brian is a huge liar. He appears to be nice but know that he’s really screwing you on the inside. Their staff often has administrative errors and I’ve had to replace my lock a couple times because they cut it off by mistake and they they lie to you blaming you for leaving your storage unlocked. You can rarely get through on the phone and emails go un-​responded to unless you are getting a new storage. They increase your storage fees without notice to you and charge you extra for storage insurance without notifying you even if you have your own insurance coverage. Once it’s on there, it can not be taken off according to Brian.
Go somewhere else, they are cheaper and more honest. Don’t get fulled by the bright lights and music there.

clean, well-​lit, some units on the east side of the building have windows in them with an awesome view of the city! However, the parking can get tight with all of the big moving trucks and delivery trucks blocking and they don’t allow use of the dumpsters so you have to take your garbage, boxes, etc with you.

Okay, so I don’t have a lot to say about storage. It’s a necessary evil. But here, I feel like my stuff is in good hands, and my rates won’t magically increase a few months after I’ve signed up. What more could you want?
The manager Brian makes the place. He’s genuinely cheerful and helpful. He even called to let me know I failed to lock my unit correctly… which meant my stuff could get stolen at any time. (Yes, I’m an idiot who can’t work a lock.) I researched lots of storage places. Plenty were cheaper and/​or closer, but they gave me pause for whatever reason. I like Metro. Go with Metro.

Great storage. The staff is friendly and will help you out. The biggest thing that I adore about this place is the music they play. Moving is a horrid experience that fills me with rage and hatred of my very existence. Multiple times at this place I was ready to scream and burn all of my material possessions. Then that Kenny Loggins song from Caddyshack started. I also recall hearing Rush and Alice Cooper. It’s classic rock, so depending musical tastes you might not care. But it was able to distract me from my blinding rage from moving.
