Description

Specialties

Me So Far puts a diverse group of single people in a room together and gives them a fun, structured way to connect with one another. Attendees have two ways to to participate: as a Talker or a Listener. Talkers choose from a list of 50 questions and prompts which range from the meaningful to the mundane. From this they create an informal, six-minute slideshow to present at the event. Each presentation ends with a temporary Me So Far email address so they can be contacted by Listeners and other Talkers. Listeners are more than just an audience for the Talkers, they also spend time getting to know each other between presentations and after the event.

History

Established in 2011.

Me So Far was developed around three key observations. First, dating is often not the best way to get to know someone. Modern dating isn’t always patient with people. In fact, it can be somewhat cold and impersonal. If you make it past the search process, the courting process is usually dinner and drinks, followed by judgment and verdict. Second, multiple interactions make all the difference. Most couples don’t experience «love at first sight” – more like love at 31st sight. Me So Far lets people lead with the more personal side of themselves, things that might not come up right away in a typical date – the real things that people relate and respond to. And finally, online dating is powered by inertia. Despite its benefits, online dating relies less on the success of your membership, and more on the renewal of it. Me So Far empowers people to show up in person and share the things that make them real, imperfect and interesting.
