Mario’s Buy-Low Liquors

I have been going here for some years now. I didn’t now know they were on Unilocal.This place is awesome not juat for their selection but for the service too. The guys here are amazing and friendly from the moment you walked in the door.

This place is what a liquor store should be! Great low prices with a great selection. Their wine room has everything you’re looking for. Not only are the selections great & prices low, but the staff is very knowledgeable & Friendly. I make sure to go out of my way to make all my liquor purchases here!

Ever notice how the demeanor of most retail employees makes clear that they work there because it’s the best or only job they could find?. That’s not what it’s like here. You can tell these guys love working here and they have fun doing it, and consequently it’s a great place to grab a bottle of something and shoot the breeze with the fedora-​wearing cool cats who man the store when they’re not busy. And when the weather’s warm they like to hang out on wicker furniture outside the entrance.
Be warned though that these dudes couldn’t give a fig about the «no smoking in places of business» law and violate it with gleeful impunity, though they usually have incense burning so the store doesn’t smell like nasty cigarettes. So if you too think it’s a stupid law, this is your place to grab a bottle of booze.

I have a huge party in a forest preserve every year and was tired of having to transport 30 cases of beer there myself. So I went in here and asked if they would deliver to the grove which was 15 mins away. I brought a list and map and told them I needed it by 10am. The guy who was working called someone to make sure they could do it before they took my $ 600. He handed the phone to me and the man over the phone guaranteed they’d get it there by 10. It was there by 9:45. They even delivered the ice and took a dollar off each case. Easy 5 star service.

Located 2 mins from my house. They have good selections and the prices are about the same or lower than the bigger stores. Last time I went, they had a budlight 24pk on sale for $ 10.49! Can’t beat that.

I don’t even drink and I have to hand it to these guys. I would go here with my roommate and friends and they were always great to everyone. They have really competitive pricing, a large selection, and the owners/​staff are really friendly.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! I felt like I was home when I walked through the door. Amazingly friendly staff (lovable an knowledgable), good selection and a great time! Go here to get the goods! Thanks guys for an even better stay in chicago! — you know who ;)

I don’t give out many 5 stars and from first glance, this little liquor store buried in a small corner of a small shopping strip definitely isn’t special. But wait until you hear my story…
Saturday night, after a very day of travel and work, my boss and my sexy coworker were looking for a few drinks. It was 11:45pm and we couldn’t find anything that was open. Even the bar downstairs in our hotel closes in 15min. The bartender called Mario’s, the owner’s son took my order on the phone and offered to deliver, but I said I’ll come and pay with a credit card instead of cash. The son picked me up in his Cadillac CTS in just 5min. I bought a bottle of Kettle, 6pk corona, 6pk Heineken, and a bottle of Caol Ila 12yr for under $ 100. He gave me a big discount on the Caol Ila for only $ 44.99 (normally $ 55). I’ve never seen it at this price. I swear I would’ve bought a case to bring back to Houston if I had space in my suitcase.
Monday night, after another long day of trade show, my coworker wanted a cig so I took her to 7Eleven, but I decided to stop by Mario’s next door. The owner and another worker were still wearing their Fedoras (a tradition here) and I offered to buy them a shot. I bought a small bottle of Jäger and the owner provided the RedBull. We had 8 shots total for only $ 8. Future more, I decided to extend the party. My coworker is also a bartender so I bought a bottle of Bacardi Dragonberry and the owner provided all the mixers. Each one of us took 4 more shots. We had great laughs and good conversations over top drinks and I paid less than $ 30!!! I mean come on, 3 beers in Houston downtown and it’s $ 30. Best of all, it was literally 2 blocks away from our hotel and this store stays open till 12:30am. We left and brought the party back to our hotel. In the end, this was one of my favorite experiences ever. Go here!

I bought the liquor for my wedding here and is my neighborhood store (I’m a block away). Prices here are easily higher than what you’d find in a grocery store. But if you need advice or if you need delivery, they can help you out. They provide free delivery for orders over $ 100. I sometimes get attitude from the people here but maybe they’re just not used to seeing an Asian dude come into their place. After I gave them a $ 900 order, they seemed nicer to me.
