Closed?! Whaaaaaaa!!! Now there is no more good thai food in this area. Why would they close? Place was always busy. Probably Chicago taxes and high rent drove them out of business. What a sad day today to find they have closed their doors forever. I hope they somehow reorganize and open again. Please!!!

Solid food quality: tastes fresh and not too greasy; decent, unobtrusive setting. Went with a group of six around 6:00 pm on a Tuesday, and were seated immediately. Concur with other reviewers: nothing spectacular about the food, but it isn’t overloaded with heavy, gelatinous sauces or oil. After eating out every meal for some days, it was like a palate-cleanser. The goma ae offered a fun twist: *plenty* of spinach served undressed on a sweetened sesame purée; the spring roll was a veggie-hardy delight with crip red-leaf lettuce; the ginger thai entrée was mild and gingery and fine. Curries were light and spicy. Nothing was particularly complex in flavor, so I probably wouldn’t seek this place out, or dine there if not for its location. Was perfect for what we needed: something quick and moderately priced and light. Service is fine, though fairly perfunctory – for example, the waitress assumed I wanted chicken in my dish and was slightly snarky when it came and I said I’d wanted tofu. Obsequious servers are annoying, but I could really do without her insinuation that I am to blame for her failure to ask me which I wanted. Overall: I’d go back under the same circumstances; would likely make the schlep down to Opart for a more substantial meal. P. S. Goggle call this place a «stylish spot» that is «casually elegant” – that seems a bit of a stretch to me. The atmosphere is nice enough, but fairly rote, and is undermined by the indifferent service and peculiar choice to cover the bar with wine and beer bottles.

I ordered from Ma & I for both sit down and delivery in the same week. While the menu is a little on the narrow side, all the food was prepared well and tasted great! The delivery experience(easy through Unilocal, quick at 25 minutes to my door, and still hot/fresh) exceeded the in-house dining service which was on the clumsy side. Despite not being very attentive or aware of our cues that we were ready to order, need some refills, or need the check, the staff was very nice and appeared happy to help. I would go again and I would recommend it!

From years ago, I remember Chicago having really good Thai. Chicago is far more cultural than Atlanta but this place was really sucked. Spring rolls shell was dried out and hard… awful. Ginger salad was ok but hard to f that up. Masaman curry was embarrassing.

Dinned in and ordered take outs a few times. Sushi is suprisingly better than expected at a thai asian fusion place. The fishes are fresh and decent quality. Thai dishes are good as well. I do like opart thai better, but location wise and selection of sushi draw me to frequent this place more often.

While walking around the neighborhood, I noticed this restaurant but nearly passed it up as I couldn’t initially tell where the entrance was. It was about 2:30pm today and it was quiet at the time but I enjoyed my meal very much. I ordered the Chicken Green Curry and Thai Iced Coffee. I like spicy food and the green curry had some good heat to eat. If you don’t like spicy food at all, I would recommend getting something else. The meal was great and i’m sure I’ll definitely order it again at some point when I’m there again, however, I’ll more than likely order something else next time as I like to try a variety of dishes when going back to the same place. I’ve seen 1&2 star reviews saying things like«it tasted like cardboard»(what idiot even puts cardboard in their mouth) or «the pad thai was awful»(how do you mess up noodles & brussels sprouts anyway that made it so awful??) and for my taste, these are just wrong. I’ve lived in LA&NYC and have eaten at many different thai places and I’ve even visited Thailand for 2 weeks so I’d like to say that I know a decent amount about Thai food. I’ve only eaten here once but so far so good.

I’ve been here twice for lunch now. Writing this review with both visits in mind. Food: consistent and good. I got the same thing Spicy Fried Rice with Chicken, was well made both times. Other people got Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Panang Curry — all good. Ambience: good décor. windows open when we came so we had a pleasant breeze coming in. Wasn’t very crowded. Good atmosphere overall. Price: reasonably cheap, especially for its location. Service: friendly and very efficient staff, no mistakes, kept coming back asking if we needed anything. Excellent service overall. Another thing worth mentioning is that this place is Vegetarian friendly. Definitely recommended.

Visited here with a friend after a morning of playing tennis so both of us were starving. I ordered the chicken with green curry which had quite a bit of heat. The chicken was decent and the overall meal was okay but filling.

Ordered delivery from here a couple weeks ago. I got the massaman curry and my roommate got some noodles and we also ordered some sushi to share. The sushi was decent, nothing amazing or bad about it. The curry was inedible! It tasted like cardboard and left a really weird taste in your mouth. I’ve had amazing massaman curry before that did not taste anything like what I had here. I tried salvaging it by adding spices but nothing helped. Ended up throwing the entire thing away! Really upset about that waste of money. My roommates noodles were very lack luster and devoid of any flavor. She ended up drenching it in Sriracha to make it taste better. Such a waste of money and such a shame after waiting almost an hour for delivery. Opart is a much better option if you want delivery Thai in that area.

A friend and I were walking around Millennium Park and decided to get lunch. for some reason we decided on Thai and saw Ma & I on Unilocal. We decided to give it a try and were completely satisfied! First, I love the atmosphere, the fresh air that comes in by seating by the open windows, and secondly, their lunch menu is also affordable! We loved the options and the food tasted great! We will definitely come back if we’re in the area.

I love this place. When I came here I was not expected much but was pleaslently surprised. This place is thai and japanese. So there are many options. The prices are ridiciusly low. This restaurant has some of the best food and i know at the lowest prices in the area. If you like thai/asain food this place is for you. You have to try a curry with cocunut in it. They are very good. P. s. dont be one of those people who think everything in a thai or indian place is super spicy or hot thats not true at all. Some currys are even sweet just ask them.

I’ve ordered takeout from here a few times, but finally went into the restaurant to eat. I love wide rice noodles, so I ordered the Pad Kee Mao(Drunken Noodles) and while they were good and the chicken, veggies and noodles were all perfectly cooked, the dish was not very spicy at all and lacked seasoning. Service was attentive and good, but nothing amazing. The star of the night was actually the sushi. I ordered a simple spicy tuna roll, but it was perfectly made and nicely spicy. I didn’t need any soy sauce or wasabi, which is the sign of a great roll, in my opinion. Overall, I was happy with my meal and will be back, especially since I live so close.

The repetitiveness in which we frequent Ma & I is a marriage of convenience. They’re quick, relatively cheap, relatively good, and rather easy to pick up from given its proximity to our home. The food is most decidedly Americanized, and the menu is a Thai/Japanese fusion. If you’re looking for«more authentic» Thai, try Opart Thai down the ways. Still, Ma & I appear to be run by folks from Thailand, and their dishes are rather good in any case. I’ve got some kind of love affair with their Tom Yum Soup, which is deliciously lemongrass-y and sour. I get it with tofu, as the meat tends to dry out and become unpalatable in this dish, whereas the tofu is soft and silky, a perfect complement to the broth. That hot sauce, though. It’s more so sambal and is just fantastic in everything Ma & I makes, up to, and including the Tom Yum. Everything else is good, if not spectacular. My wife’s go-to is the Penang Curry, and dishes like Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and Basil Chicken are in our rotation on the regular.

Skip. With some other delicious spots in Chicago this felt more like a Thai place in some random small town with no soul. Entrees and apps were overly sweet, best option was the duck curry.

Came here on the 4th of July for a nice meal before heading to the lake to watch the fireworks at Navy Pier. We were in a little bit of a rush that night. The restaurant was semi difficult to find but that is only because they don’t have a large sign or anything on the outside. So make sure you keep an eye out for the address marked on the door. Walked in and was seated immediately. The inside of the restaurant is decorated nicely. Plenty of neat décor to look at while enjoying small talk and your beverage before your food arrives. It was beautiful out that day so they had the windows open which was produced a nice breeze. Ordered a California roll, Spicy Salmon roll and a shrimp tempura roll. Price wise I’d say it’s about average but the rolls are kinda small for the cost. The rolls were all delicious and came in a neat tray. My companion ordered some sort of combination noodle entry that looked amazing and from what I was told tasted great. The wait staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent value for entrees(share, serves 2) with substantial main ingredients, e.g. steak, scallops, shrimps. SUPERWHITETUNASASHIMI — fresh, good cut. Low sodium soy sauce is default that is poured for you(great service huh?). FLANKMASSAMAN — good food presentation. Quality and freshness of ingredients is evident. Precise cooking temp. Well balanced curry sauce. Generous serving as it serves 2. SERVICE — quick, friendly and courteous. Water is quickly refilled. I wish one would take the initiative to offer dessert instead of shoving the check in an empty room. VENUE — clean and organized with nice modern comfortable seating. Tables are covered with pleather. Some wood chairs. Some cushioned chairs. RESTROOM — down the hall outside the venue. Stay away!
